It’s time to elect non-Dblock and non-Hblock leaders in the interest of peace and unity in Somalia

Abdirazak Haji Hussen, Fmr Prime Minister of the Somali Republic (hussen100@yahoo.com), & Dr Aweys O. Mohamoud (AWEYS6@AOL.COM), Founder of Gobannimo Institute,[1]

27thJuly 2012

We argue in this paper that the enduring conflict in Somalia has become so entrenched and zero-sum in nature that it is beyond outsider – or inside – management without first attenuating the continuing intra- and inter-*******-****** factionalised struggles and rivalry outbidding. The issues at the heart of this rivalry are particularly difficult and intractable because they’re based on psychological factors, are more symbolic in nature and thus more complicated to manage. We, therefore, call upon the newly appointed members of the post-TFG parliament to elect competent and meritorious individuals from non-******* and non-****** clans as President and Parliamentary Speaker to defeat the “wedge politics” of division and rivalry, and to usher in a new era of compromise, trust, and cooperation in the political process. We also call on the newly elected President of Somalia to appoint as Prime Minister an upright and competent Somali citizen from non-******* and non-****** clan background to forge a sense of common purpose in the new administration and to deliver credible executive leadership to theSomali people.

Whether X,J or F Block Somalia needs a good leader. We shouldn't waste time on what clan this leader should be from but we should focus on who can lead the country.

The non-D & non- H laftirkood clean track record ma leeyihin ?

If we look to the not so distant past , discriminating based on Qabiil has not serve us well and will not do in the long run.

Hadeey rabaan dadka Somaalida ah effective leader, first and foremost they need to stop supporting a leader based on clan , however competent the said individual is. Secondly, lets bring new ideas that do not further add fuel to the fire.

Only when these guys accept and embrace the clan thing will they manage to talk seriously and have proper solutions for the problems at hand.

N.O.R.F

What if all Somalis moved to Antarctica and then raced back to Somalia. The qabiil of the person to get back first wins. This is then repeated every 5 years.

The article is a bit far fetched. But there is nothing wrong with a appeal for more diversity in the countries leadership,

something that has been truly been made impossible by the 4.5 formula.
