There was no government in Somalia in 1991,, and the 1960 union between Somaliland and Somalia in 1960 was a union of two states what did you expect that Somaliland should wait for you? South sudan was a different case the government in Sudan was intact the SPLM dealt with them the union had to be dissolved on the side of Somaliland so the unilateral declaration of independence by the Somalilanders was the best way forward.

There was no Somali state before 1960 and there was no Somali Empire or govt before 1884 we were Somali nomads living in the horn along different little sultanates both in Somaliland and in Somalia. Somaliland's statehood is not up for negotiations its indisputable no can change that fact.

The former Somali republic was divided the past 21 years i don't think, it can get any worse besides Somalia has nothing to lose, any way lets wait for the outcome of the conference they need to clarify their relations that's what the London conference was all about no one mentioned unity.

You wouldn't reach Puntland or SSC if we gave you a 50 years advantage, history indicates so. Do not put yourself on a pedestal and try and drag yourself into our politics.
