I say it is a great thing!! Somali civics dictate that we all talk about qabiil without talking about, exactly what the gentlemen did in their discourse. It is great that the so-called minorities will have a place at the table. No solutions comes out of demonizing qabiil, talking sh!t about QABIIL wont make it go away, but hoping to empower people through the representation of lineage and DEGAAN. QABIIL not a institution but means to the institutions of Somali governance and civics.

 

Qabiil = Degaan, either way qabiil representation will be there even if folks were to represented via degaankooda. I see no way out, but to tone it down to malign levels that prevents conflicts........just saying yacni.
