Hargaysa Somalia: Food Aid Taken To A Commercial Warehouse In Hargeisa

Hargeisa(Qarannews):- 18 trucks loaded with Flour, Rice, Milk, Cooking Oil, Dates, Biscuits, Fish and other foodstuff intended for some of Somaliland's most vulnerable citizens have unloaded their freight at three commercial warehouses in Hargeisa's main market owned by business people, with allegedly, close connections to the government of President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud "Siilaanyo".

According to reliable sources, officials from the presidency have been, allegedly, systematically miss-appropriating food aid intended for Somaliland's poorest people and selling them for their own gain.

These sources confirm that these business people who had just received food aid intended for Somaliland citizens at their warehouses in Hargeisa main market have direct connection to the Presidential Relief Office.

This is not the first occasion in which food aid was miss-appropriated, however this instance was exposed after a group of residents gathered outside the commercial warehouses in question and protested at the theft of the food aid intended for them. Even in the hustle and bustle of Hargeisa's main market, it is quite difficult to miss the sight of eighteen(18) fully loaded trucks delivering goods to warehouses surrounded by protesters.

Our sources confirm that the warehouses have been barricaded by the protesters and the owners and agents are nowhere to be found. The warehouses remain closed. The gathered protesters have been monitored by a contingent of the Somaliland police force, who according to eye witnesses, have been harassing and miss-handling the poor people who had gathered outside the three warehouses where their food aid has been illicitly stored.

There has been no official comment from the Presidential Relief Office and its director, Amina Mohamed Dirie or any other government official.

2 of the guys were diaspora. one worked as an advisor to the vice-president (UK) and the other is the director general of the ministry of resettlement, rehabilitation and reintegration (denmark). with allegations against foregin minister Mohamed Abdulahi Omar for misappropriating funds last month, the diaspora are bringing their corrupt values to somaliland. we say no to the so called diaspora.

indeed duke!

this diaspora regime (kleptocracy) with their online fancy degrees and lack of experiences are destroying the country from within. movements of the so called ''benevolent diaspora'' should be strictly controlled and should cease ASAP. they're utterly useless. this is a strange land where a bus conductor and others in menial occupations can become ministers overnight and pillage the country of its resources, albeit from food aid, NGO economy etc!

today signals the end of the diaspora! and a great loss of confidence in these people. they are no longer wanted here!

hems,

these actions must be condemned. this is not a point scoring contests! if puntland have their own issues, that is for them to deal with but we must concentrate our energies on self-improvement and progress!
