Recommended Posts

One of the first things that the people of Mogadishu did after the liberation battle was bring down the statue of the mad Mullah known to many as Mohammed Abdullahi Hassan.

This statue was the symbol of repression.

I believe that this statue should never be allowed to be in the city of Mogadishu again.

Why not build a memorial statue for the late President Adan Abdulle Osman AUN a true son of Mogadisho

Inshallah, statues within Mogadishu's city center could soon be built for

- Aden Adde

- Abdullahi Ciise

- General Duad

Galia, we don't call the sayid mad mullah, that was British propaganda. Can you tell us why an anti colonial hero of a nation should not have a statue in its capital?

Its no coincidence that the people of Mogadishu choose to burn his statue during the liberation of Mogadishu.

Besides that man does not represent us nor does he hold any importance to us

He was just a terrorist who killed a lot of innocent somali people

who is "us" and these people of mogadishu. I believe am working under the false assumption that Mogadishu is the capital of the Somali nation and when it comes to heroes, no one comes any where near the Sayid except Ahmed Gurey.

If your father told you that then do you think its true. A better hero is Genral Mohamed Farah Aidid, he definitely deserves a statue for protecting people

I really don't know as to why your getting so emotional. This is politics, if it does not suit your taste then please go and talk about something else.

The statue of that man has already been burnt to the ground, so what is the fuss here, lol
