Recommended Posts

Maaddeey

Witnesses say a Somali government soldier has shot and killed at least five people Thursday at a food-aid distribution site in the capital, Mogadishu. At least one other person was wounded in the shooting.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the soldier to open fire.

Somali authorities have taken the soldier into custody.

Relief groups are distributing food to help hundreds of thousands of Somalis left hungry by famine in southern Somalia.

Some information for this report was provided by AFP.
