SOO MAAL Posted January 7, 2010 The Ordeal of Las Anod City Lasanod Online. Thursday, January 07, 2010 Lasanod Online:- The occupied city of Las Anod , the capital of Sool province of Somalia, lives in severe ordeal. The city is besieged from all sides.. and armed police patrols are on duty round-the-clock. The Gestapo-like militia who occupy the city operate without restraint and its actions are not subject to the law. The rough militia exert unbearable pressure on the residents whose nights are sleepless. The local who live under the occupation suffer in silence. They are facing harrowing experience. The blockaded people of Lasanod need urgent help in one way or the other. The residents of Las Anod city are deprived of medical care as well as all social services. Yet the occupation authorities impose heavy taxes on the petty local traders or small business owners. Worst of all, there is shortage of drinking water and there is widespread poverty. Many poor people are on the verge of starvation The local people go through the worst due to the punitive measures on the part of the invaders from the north. As a result, the locals are loaded and laden with anger that can explode at any time and turn to uprising or (intifada). The city dwellers can no longer bear being treated like a flock of sheep. Their human rights are violated and their safety and survival are in danger. The first indications or first signs of popular resistance movement began to appear. The people seem to be ready to get back control of their destiny. The city population make spontaneous demonstrations from time to time in protest against the heavy-handed tyranny and arbitrary actions of the occupation authorities. The locals know that where there is oppression, there is resistance. They also believe that the time is now near when the invaders will be forced to withdraw SSC territory willy-nilly or by hook or by crook. The people of SSC are collectively responsible for the liberation of their homeland from occupation. They need participation and a united front and consensus at home and abroad The present time is a challenging and frustrating time and therefore requires tough decisions. Every patriotic native citizen of SSC must do his/her bit. Now is the time to build up SSC liberation army that is strong enough to resist and challenge Somaliland Gestapo-like militia of occupation. MAXIMUS POWERS Posted January 7, 2010 This article is full of tribal diatribe. The author is clearly showing only one side of the situation, albeit full of exaggeration. Its doesn't represent the facts on the ground or speaks for the people of Somaliland.
Suldaanka Posted January 7, 2010 Obviously this guy who wrote this is talking about some foreign laascaanood located somewhere else in the milky way. There is no way he is talking about the Laascaanood that is located here on Earth.
xiinfaniin Posted January 7, 2010 ^^ Good you deleted the SNM propoganda, ya Suldaan
Suldaanka Posted January 7, 2010 ^ It is not propagandha, it is the reality But again, I realised some people will never heed to those facts... waa biyo col dhaanshay hadii aad wax u sheegtid. The reality speaks for itself. So no need for me to rehearse it here.
xiinfaniin Posted January 7, 2010 ^^you were wise taking it down. For those of us who had the opportunity to read it, it showed how out of touch you are with the political and security reality on the ground.
Suldaanka Posted January 7, 2010 ^ I don't blame you Xiin. For some people, the very presense of Somaliland army in that area is unwelcomed. For those people, any good thing that happens in Laascaanood under Somaliland, is "NOT GOOD" at all. So, I can see what you mean. But hey, the Caravan shall move on. But the fact remains Lascanod is a politicaly disputed city, and as a result the security instability sarrounding it is real. That one group controls it now does not take away that fact ya prince. On the other hand, the city you depicted was one of the best places to live. I was tempted to relocate . Alas only if it existed in reality.
Thankful Posted January 7, 2010 Laascaanod Suldaanka, Yassin Juma report from Lascaanod has uncovered the truth about what is going on in the city. NW Somalia's media and admin can no longer try and present their version of what is going on. Yassin Juma show's that even he who is a reporter, needed to enter the city under heavy security and at night. That there is milita surrounding the whole city on stand by. He only stayed in the town for 2 hours. He show's even though Habsaades NW Somalia allied militia is in controlled, people are divided on who they wish to be a part of. This video has exposed the truth that you were trying to hide.
