Scoring points and jokes aside, Somalis must realize Ethiopia doesn't want any viable Somali government with international recognition. They feel even independent and internationally recognized Somaliland is threat no matter how loyal its leaders might be to Ethiopia agenda.

Who would have thought that a country where 90% of the governments budget comes from aid would be the master that pathetic Somali leaders bend over backwards for?

OF COURSE, like come on Xaaji….seriously!!!

The Ethiopians don't want the TFG to be successful or encourage them in anyway. They remember the wars Somalia had with Ethiopia; do you think they are worried about Puntland or NW Somalia challenging for the Somali Galbeed? They remember when we had one of most well disciplined armies in Africa.

So they will welcome different regional enclaves and give them the red carpet and limousines. They want to encourage fragmentation of Somalia.

Never forget that Somalia’s neighbors Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti have arguably benefitted the most because of Somalia’s turmoil and the fact that the only internationally recognized government (the TFG) is weak. The UN and many other organizations are based in these countries; they have received enormous amounts of aid to deal with Somalia. (I even read that Japan is building a base in Djibouti to deal with Piracy!)

These three nations - love the situation Somalia is in, they don’t want the TFG to become strong, they prefer to have small little enclaves that get excited every time they invite them to their country.

30 years ago we were the ones that they came to for training!

It would have made sense if they benefited from this relationship somehow! They come back empty-handed every-time.

Like Somaliland not being recognised will bring back the somali republic lol. Very funny. Somaliland ina la aqoonsado wii uu ficaantahay somalia or expect being manipulated by ethiopia for the next 40 years and you can forever forget about a strong central somalia government case it won't happen. Inti Soomaaliida iis xaasidayan bu wakhtiiga dhamanaya.

Well said. They support the fragmentation of Somalia because they know that no country in the world will recognize each of these "lands". Fragmentation makes Somalia a weak neighbour and prolongs our disunity thus benefiting Ethiopia and Kenya. Kenya is doing offshore drilling in Somali waters, Ethiopia dictates the policies of all these "lands" and now Uganda wants in on some of the action. They want more funding so they can increase their troops in Mogadishu and so they can place troops in other parts of Somalia so they can "fight the pirates". They also want a "no fly zone" over Somalia. Somalis need to wake up and realize that these people are only after their own benefit.

Libaahe...Ethiopia doesn't want any viable Somali government whether that government is in the form of Somaliland or United Somalia. Any powerful Somali entity is threat to it!
