Somalia facts: since TFG take over.

Recommended Posts

1.The Somali Transitional Government controls 15 out of 18 regions that make up the republic of Somalia.

2.There has been no major attack, or even demonstartion against the Somali government in 14 out of the 15 regions the TFG controls.

3.All attacks has centred on Mogadishu, and have resulted in the deaths of civilians and so far three TFG troops and one police officer have died. No group has claimed responsability thus far out of fear

4. The TFG has sidelined all the warlords. They have turned over 160 technicals and over 1200 millitia men some highly trained.

5. All sea & air ports are under TFG control, no faction or group controls any of these vital economic organs. This includes Ceel Macan, Dayniile [both closed], NO-50, Mogadishu national air and sea port, Bali Doogle millitary air strip, Jowhar air strip, Kismayu Sea & air ports, Ceel Ahmed air strip, Beledweyne airstrip. Thus for the firts time in 15 years we have a single entity in control

6. The TFG has spoken to elders of all the major clans in Mogadishu, as well as opposition figures such as Abdiqasin, Seeraar, Shikha Muuday. This has led to the creation of a new comprehensive admin for Mogadishu headed by Cade Gabow with all the major clans playing a lead role in it. A new admin for Hiiraan region, Middle Shabbele and also Afgoyee city, which has come back to the locals

7. Security, has not deteriorated since the defeat of the clan courts. In fact the TFG controls a much larger area than the courts ever did, twice as large, including Bay & Bakool, Mudug, all of Puntland. There has been success in taking weapons from the former warlords of Mogadishu and a major initiave in Kismayu has so far gone without much problems.

The Ethiopians have around 8000 troops, many have started to leave and all will leave when the AU forces arrive.

8. Political the branches of the TFG has become closer since the victory over the courts, the renegade and hapless former Sharif Xasan has been dealt a major blow when he lost a no confidance vote. The Parliment is now in the process of electing a new speaker.

9. Internationally the TFG has the support of the international community, including the AU. who have so far been united in its support for the TFG, even Djibouti has come on board.

10. The Somali people have welcomed the success of the TFG and see it, rightly as a new window of opportunity to take back their country from clan groups and factions. They have danced in Mogadishu, Kismayu, and in the diaspora, in London, Toronoto and Minneapolis.

^^^100% chance you say, I have heard such predictions before. However you provide no evidance, for example are the people of Awdal, Togdheere, Waqoye Galabeed and Saxil 100% for seceding?

Democracy wins...You have to give the people what they want. The areas you mentioned can be 100% or 75% for seceding.

The evidence is clear in the streets of Hargaisa, Burco, Bebera..and So on......Stop lying to yourself for once man. We know these people want absolutely nothing to do with somalia...Therefore war becomes just cause to unite the country in your eyes?

^^^Saxib if Somalia is divisable then so is Somaliland, so far Sool, Sanag and Cayn have said no to seceding, covering over 1/2 of what was the British colony. Thus what if the people of Awdal opt out of secesion and some in Toghdeere do as well?

I doubt that the support for sceesion is even 40% in all the areas the secesionist regime now "control".

Tone....lol@how bout Somaliland.Sister, that shouldn't be even in the conversation.

As for people being support of SL'seccesion.Well one thing is clear, even if Awdal,Sool, and Sanaag didnt' want anything to do with Somaliland, one thing is clear they rather be in Somaliland then come under the TFG.I don't think in million years, the folks in Awdal would choose the TFG over SL,no way son.

Against seccesion is totally different case from being Pro TFG.If they dont' support SL,it doesnt' reflect their support for the TFG, you dont' believe me,go ask majoirty of folks from those region. They will make a laughing stock if you tell them to pick and choose SL and the TFG.

As for open elections, the TFG would loose in land slide.

As for 15 out of 18,hmmm,so that would include Sool and Sanaag I believe right? where do you control Sool and Sanaag? they are disputed with Somaliland.Besides the majority of the people dont' support a Xabashi puppet as they histroricaly have been anti occupiers.

the country is under occupation, but time and again, you have failed to mention that Ethiopia is runing the business.Without them,Abudllahi Yusuf would be in Galkacayo today.

Just the other day,Melez said he was fortunate to have the somali seaports after admiting it was huge mistake to let Asmara go,but later reminded them that they got something better TODAY(refering to somali sea ports offcourse).

There have not been protests, the people are afraid of the filthy Xabashis offcourse. There haven't been any show of support for the TFG in Xamar or else where except maybe some parts of Puntland. Not including the few poeple that came out in Xamar,a city of enormous population. The south is still in chaos, voilence is still occuring. The puppet regime in reality has no answers, its hope is dependent on foreign troops being brought in order to safe gaurd them and defend them from the PEOPLE.

Fact: the Xabashis may never leave.Myth: Many Xabashi troops withdrew.Only few hundred if we went over our head have, but most of them still remain.Remember if there are no Xabashis, there is NO TFG in Xamar today.
