Can their ever be peace with the Israel's............

Recommended Posts

The continued israel policy of targeting 'so called' Militant strong holds (see yahoo article below) continue's to result in huge loses of palestinian lives, increasingly more women and children. My question is can any of us realy have sympathy for the israel's when a suicide attacker attacks. And Can any so called 'moderate forces' continue to where rose tainted glasses @ these atrocities, while calling any palestinan reprisal attacks as terrorism.

GAZA (Reuters) - Israel killed the commander of the military wing of Hamas and 14 other Palestinians including eight children in an air raid on his home that also wiped out a crowded city block Tuesday, hospital officials said.

At least 145 other Palestinians were wounded in the overnight missile strike, defended by Israel as self-defense against suicide bombers but condemned by U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan ( news - web sites) for exacting high casualties among civilians.

Salah Shehada, head of the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam brigades, was killed a day after Hamas's spiritual leader, blind Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, said it would consider halting suicide attacks if Israel withdrew from occupied West Bank cities.

Israel described the missile strike as one of its most significant blows against Palestinian militants. But Hamas vowed revenge, raising the possibility of another welter of violence -- after a month of relative calm -- endangering a fragile new dialogue between Israel and Palestinian moderates. The Izz el-Deen al-Qassam brigades have killed dozens of Israelis in suicide attacks since the start 22 months ago of a Palestinian uprising for independence in Gaza and the West Bank.

Officials at Gaza City's Shifa Hospital said 15 people were killed -- Shehada, his wife, a daughter and his deputy commander as well as nine children apparently from neighboring homes demolished by the missile launched by an F-16 warplane.

The youngest dead was aged two months and 15 of the wounded were in serious condition, Shifa doctors said.

A Reuters reporter saw lumps of flesh piled in a local morgue that medical workers said were retrieved from the wreckage of Shehada's home.

The residential block in the teeming Daraj district was a spectacle of devastation. Locals said there was no forewarning of the missile attack, not even the sound of a plane.

SOME MAY STILL BE TRAPPED IN RUBBLE

Dazed residents stumbled through dust and debris, looking for loved ones as ambulance sirens wailed. Children were rushed away on stretchers in the immediate aftermath of the attack.

Residents and rescue teams continued to comb the wreckage on Tuesday morning for people who might still be trapped.

Palestinian cabinet minister Saeb Erekat told the BBC the attack was a "despicable" war crime meant to stifle diplomacy.

"In my opinion this is Sharon's effort to torpedo any effort to revive the peace process," he said.

Israel captured the West Bank and Gaza in the 1967 Middle East war and handed over the main towns to Palestinian self-rule under interim peace deals in 1994-95. But Israeli troops and Jewish settlements are present in swathes of the territories.

In a statement confirming and defending the air raid, the Israeli army said: "Shehada was behind hundreds of terrorist attacks carried out over the past two years against the Israeli military and Israeli civilians in Israel."

A senior Hamas official vowed revenge for "this is a massacre against our people. Retaliation is coming and everything is considered a target.

"Hamas's retaliation will come very soon, and there won't be only just one (attack)...After this crime, even Israelis in their homes will be the target of our operations."

The civilian casualties drew swift condemnation by the United Nations ( news - web sites) and European Union ( news - web sites), and a Palestinian cabinet minister said it battered new hopes for steps to revive a peace process raised by the resumption of limited talks this month.

Israeli troops reoccupied much of the West Bank last month after suicide attacks killed 26 Israelis and the talks focused on easing the economic and humanitarian plight of 700,000 Palestinians under army curfew and blockades in the territory.

"This extra-judicial killing operation, which targeted a densely populated area, comes at a time when both Israelis and Palestinians were working very seriously to curb violence and restore cooperative security arrangements," EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said in a statement issued in Brussels.

In other violence, the Israeli army said troops shot dead two Palestinian gunmen near the Gaza road junction of Kissufim.

In the West Bank, Israel soldiers killed three Palestinian gunmen near the city of Nablus and Israel Radio said they were involved in a Palestinian ambush of a bus near the Jewish settlement of Emmanuel a week ago.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon ( news - web sites) described the air strike as a "great success" but said he regretted deaths of civilians. He added that Israel must be on full alert for Hamas reprisals.

U.N. BEMOANS KILLING OF CIVILIANS WITH MISSILE

U.N. spokesman Fred Eckhard said Israel had a legal and moral responsibility to avoid the loss of innocent life.

"It clearly failed to do so in using a missile against an apartment building. The secretary-general calls on the government of Israel to halt such actions and conduct itself in a manner fully consistent with international humanitarian law."

Gideon Meir, an Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman, noted that Israeli children have been killed in Palestinian bombings.

"I do expect the Secretary-General to understand that Israel's actions come out of self-defense. This was a precise Israeli air strike against a known terrorist responsible for hundreds of attacks on innocent Israelis in the past few years."

At least 1,467 Palestinians and 559 Israelis have been killed in the uprising that erupted after U.S.-brokered talks on Palestinian statehood in the West Bank and Gaza stalled.

Salaamu Alaikum,

1.There can be no compromisation of Muslim land. The land Israel occuppies is Holy Muslim land and the land belongs to the Muslims in palestine. We cannot even give up a handful of sand to the Israelians because Allah made Haraam for us Muslims to give the lands we inherented and are guardians of. Better we die as shaheeds protecting the land from the infidels than make peace with the oppressors.

2.We cannot have peace with Israel because we do not recognise the fake state of Israel. Israel stands for evil in every sense of the word.

3. How can we have peace when palestinians are refugees in their own country. When 5 - 7 million Jews ran from as far as Russia enjoying themselves in the beaches and soaking up rich life styles in natural beauty of the Muslim lands while palestinians do not know where the next meal is coming from ?

4. We now live in the age where peace means war war means peace terror means just-war and freedom fighters are terrorist. So we cannot trust the infidels and make peace we must take the war to them as they fight us. Attack is the best form of defence.

May Allah free Palestine from Israeli occupation and humilate the Zionists in a tormentful punishment in this life and here-after, Ameen.

W/Salaam,

Mujahid over and out !

Samafal

salaam,

in short No there can not be peace with Israel while they occupay the Land of the muslims. Some of the times it is sad to hear from palestenians personals who view the palestinian appraisal from the nationalistic perspective not from the islamic perspective. I believe until muslims wake up and understand that palestine is for muslims and it is the responsibility of all muslims to stand up for it and wage Jihad as one, there will be no success. May allah return to us the Baitul Aqsa to our hands, Ameen.

w/salaam
