xiinfaniin Posted April 16, 2007 Puntlanders are overstretched yaa Emperor. Notice it's a ministerial delegation, and not a column of technicals, that entered the city as reported. But I am beginning to like Cadde; the man handled this conflict with grace and spoke softly and calmly.
Che -Guevara Posted April 16, 2007 But I am beginning to like Cadde; the man handled this conflict with grace and spoke softly and calmly. Waa la gartay...wanted the tolka to come on top...LoooooooooooL The very silly and not well though misadventure on Sland's party.
Xudeedi Posted April 16, 2007 Adde was indeed planning for a trip. He never handled any thing. The credit is for the elders and the victory bearers of Dhahar who made it possible the peaceful withdrawal of SL militia.
General Duke Posted April 16, 2007 ^^^The peaceful withdrawl there was a battle and a man lost his job. Nothing peaceful about it which was a shame since young men lost their lives on both sides. Anyhow its another great forward step, Puntland admin has made.
xiinfaniin Posted April 16, 2007 @Che Not really on top, but the tolka needs to maintian the tribal balance in that region! I thought Dhahar was too deep of a place for both the political and tribal settings in that region for Somaliland to try it out. Besides, what is there for me to gain from the disruption of peace and stability in Puntland? The agenda of Somaliland to lay claim on entire regions on the basis of colonial sketches is quite dangerous, and when such separatist agenda is pushed with a bold military campaign it must be stopped by any cost. Even if the locals are bribed to agree to such an agenda, it still needs to be confronted and stopped. Talk about Somaliland’s progress and development and you would find me supportive, but the political agenda of this entity is really treacherous, and quite silly at that! Edit Maakhir, Adeer the Puntland admin could’ve equally acted hawkish and complicated matter than it already was. There was time when Cadde acted foolishly and irresponsibly. Think about the Bandiiradley incident and how he showed up with a military camouflage and gave rabble-rousing speeches in the town of Gaalkacyo to fight with the ICU. This time the man acted responsibly and highlighted how the region does not need another useless war.
Xudeedi Posted April 16, 2007 In fact, prior to the battle at the evening, SL were packing up and preparing to leave in hours. Intercepted news from the nomads on outskirts of Dhahar preinformed an incoming but extremely small convoys headed into their way(SL militia) and it resulted in being cornered and driven up to the road. Casualties are inestimable. Saxib, few pickups attacked 95 military vehicles. After that brief overrun, they peacefully vacated the area and headed to Erigavo. Main Reason for their withdrawal is due to the efforts of the elders and the local colonel who commanded them.
xiinfaniin Posted April 16, 2007 ^^Maakhir, the locals always have the interest of the region in their heart and don’t want this war in their midst. No doubt about that! Also no doubt that their effort paid off and probably averted a wider war in that region. But truth be told Sanaag falls in Puntland’s political influence if not its direct authority and what Puntland admin does affects greatly on the locals down there. If Cadde were to be doing Ethiopia’s bid to destabilize Somaliland’s peace and stability, it would’ve complicated the issue even more. The fact he wasn’t hawkish on this as he was on Bandiiradley incident helped is what I am saying.

Didi Kong Posted April 16, 2007 Good developments. Since gumeysi ma ku jirno what we need to do is to coax Ethio/US to redefine or redraw the secessionists boundaries to exclude SSC, so we can bid these war mongering folks good bye for good.
