The spree of looting, conquering and leaving Somalis underdeveloped in the Ocaden regions means that most Somalis don't speak their language let alone read and write; 99.8% of Somalis are still Muslims and most identity themselves with Somalia and Somalis.Go to the Somali countryside and Ethiopians are generally associated with negative things.It is also difficult to colonize Somalis as they are fairly homogenous and prideful people. Many nations came to Somalia and left Somali nomads to their devices. Even the Italian colonialists are credited with builiding nice infrastructure and buildings, but how many Somalis did they gain in their catholic church? How will the Ethiopians bee remembered in Somalia? Ethiopians simply want a Somalia that is run by a friendly regime which doesn't identify itself with any political Islam or nationalistic sentiments that claim the Ocaden region. The war against the Islamic Courts was not one of colonization, rather it was neccesary for the security of the Ethiopian regime in general. If I was their leader, I would have gone to war much earlier with the Islamic Courts. M.T.V has more of a capacity to colonize Somalis than Habashis.The reason why they are in Muqdisho is because of our weakness not their strength.
