Taiwan doubles it Military assistance to Somaliland

Hargeisa  (Berberatimes.com) Taiwan Representative Office in the Republic of Somaliland Hargeisa, Ambassador Allen C. Lou, spoke about the military training that is being assisted by the Somaliland army with this scholarship at the university level and the members of the Somaliland national army are going to attend the Military Training Education supported by the Taiwan Government in his Statement Said  “In response to Somaliland’s security needs, the Ministry of Defense of Taiwan offered three Somaliland military officers Taiwan Military Scholarship in 2023.

In 2024, the number of awardees is doubled, including scholarship for Somaliland high school graduates to study 4-year academic military school in Taiwan. The fields of study include War College Courses, Command and Staff Courses, Master English Program on International Security and Navy Academy respectively.

Through capacity building and knowledge acquired for security and national defense, Somaliland will move toward peace, stability and prosperity on the righteous path of democratic development. Taiwan is committed to work with Somaliland and with like-minded partners to further explore regional security cooperation.

The government of Somaliland thanked Taiwan for the support and training of the armed forces of Somaliland, The Commander-in-Chief of the Somaliland National Army, Noah Ismail Tani, Attended this event and thanked the Government of Taiwan for the scholarships provided by the Somaliland Army.
