Allamagan, it is unfortunate but I am glad your friend insured himself.

Anigu Kenyaan u baqaa. The Somalis there don't seem to understand what insurance means.

A hotel cannot be a 5 star unless it serves alcohol according to the people who give these ratings, so how do we as muslims feel pity for someone who makes money out of haraam venues?

Spare me your predictable fingerpointing and self righteousness, passing judgement on an issue that you are not even clearly informed on is typical of the style of reactionaries

^You seem to take this personally, if you know more, than why don't you inform him instead of taking it as an attack? Does it or does it not serve alcohol and "naked tourists" as another indicated? Go on, set the record straight. Otherwise don't expect "sympathy" from other members with a religious conscience.

The idea that because they served "alcohol" or received "naked tourists" therefore deserve no sympathy is ridiculous. They were robbing nobody! It's a tragedy to see anyone's 12yrs of hard work burn down to ashes, alcohol or not!

Hope they catch the arsonists soon and make real examples out of them African-tan cawaanta ah.

Here we go again. How come I have never seen you post anything positive? Where does all negativity come from. You seem to be here only to discredit and critisize every good achievement posted here.

We all see the world through different lenses dear. I personally didn't read the long article in detail but skimmed it, wasn't aware it was the work of arsonists. I do hope they catch the perpetrators of the crime. But isn't it even a greater tragedy when 12yrs of one's hard work is of no use them, but rather harms them because the means were unlawful? The irony, the owner quotes the holy book. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise, very fortunate that no one was harmed.

Walaal its not negativity, its Honesty. Being a five star entails a lot of things. Five Star highest ranking a luxury hotel get minus a few who claim to 6 or two that claim to be 7 star. Burj al Arab for example is a five star hotel. If heard of fellow Somalis claiming all sort of titles such as engineer or Doctor or general and this to me sounds like we have expanded that tradition to the hospitality industry.
