Fabregas, it would have been better for you to simply say Allah knows best instead of indulging in hearsays and rumours.

Maxamed Siyaad (May Allah have Mercy on him) never denied Quranic ayaah, the burden of proof is on you. And no, "I heard it from so-and-so" will not suffice.

Secondly, Marxism by lip was to win substantial aid from the Soviet Union to build the country.

Somali Socialism and Russian Somalism were not one and the same. The Somali one was mostly based on Socalist principles that did not contradict the Islamic ones, hence the conjured-term "Islamic Socialism"

He precisely said in an interview given in the early 70's:

"For us, socalism is simply defined: it is a system in which the state takes primary responsibility for the poltical, social, and economic development of the nation."

There is a reason why the Soviet Union switched the ties from Somalia to Ethiopia.

I second Barafasoor G's post. And I will repeat it in far waa weyn for the little people with little minds, for our resident ***** and the *****:

War, if he built a million schools, universities , mosques, prayed a for a thousands nights, and fasted a thousands months; it will never erase his ridda/apostasy

of being a marxist and open denier of Quranic Ayat

Of course, Siad Barre apologists will easily find 'Holy Scholars' that will canonize Afweyne as an Islamic Saint(Awliyo); Just as Shariif Al-Khabeeth was able to 'procure' merchant-scholars(ke yword being merchant) who gave a fatwa calling the TFG, and I quote, "Dowlad Islaami ah". Only problem is, a few months back, these exact same entrepreneurial 'scholars' issued a fatwa that designated Abdullahi Yusuf, every single member of the TFG and anybody who worked with the Ethiopian and Ugandans as a, and I qoute, murtad(apostate). Sherlock Holmes and the case of the 180 degree Flip-flopping Fatwa.

My nig Saciid Afizione breaks down the sheer hypocrisy here. Get it while it's hot.

what the late president, even the outlandish claims of some sick evangelicals and sol extremist, its between him and his maker. What can not be denied is that he lead a revolution that turned that dusty corner of africa into a self-sufficient nation. What Somali leader, before or after him, can claim anywhere near that?

The interesting thing about this sensationalization is the emphasis on Barre's political independence.
:D

It is something that deserves a moment to savor considering political independence is a foreign concept now and in the near future for Somalia.
smile.gifOne right thing we could say about him. I even think this tv station is making up stories so as to capitalize on Somalia's recent re-appearance on cable news chanels. Anything bad with a link to Somalia makes sensational news, I suppose.

Siyaadist propaganda in full force. Even daring by venturing to quote the Quraanka Kariimka, about evidence and the truth.

I don't care about what else you are trying to feed on SOL, but Isbaheysiga, sadly for a Siyaadist propagandist, was not built by him. It was built by for Sacuudi money. Qof walba baa og. That masaajid and the avenue that intercrosses where it is located at, Jidka Maka Almakurama too.

And about other masaajido being built, his regime has nothing do with it. It was demanded by and built by xaafado communities in the ever-expanding Muqdisho of '70s. The growing population demanded it and it was a natural recourse to happen.

What else would the propagandist credit to him again? That he built the National Theatre as well, the long road isku wada xirtay from gobollada dhexe to Waqooyi Bari?
These silly propaganda may fool those nomads that arrived in Mogadishu after 1970s but the ones who have lived in that city know what was before the coup and after the coup.

There is much more Propaganda that was spread, here are few of them:

- Mogadishu had 2 roads before the coup. FALSE

- Siad Barre built Mogadishu port, the north-south highway, the port of Kismaanyo, the one of bosaso, the one of Hargeisa. In short, he built all infrastructure in Somalia. FALSE

- The military regime eradicated clannism, nepotism and corruption. FALSE.

- The military regime made Somalia self-reliant and truelly independent from foreign powers. FALSE.

- The military regime and its leader Siad Barre did not want to stay in power, but were forced by the clannist uprisings. FALSE.

he lead a revolution that turned that dusty corner of africa into a self-sufficient nation.

Thats why Somalia went from ´´Scientific Socialism´´ to ´´IMF-ism´´. If that is what you understand under ´´self-sufficient´´ then yeah, he made us ´´self-sufficient´´.

You want proof? Here it is!! To get more of an understanding of our history, since you seem to be lacking in that department watch this video to see what Siad Barre was building! Start from 2:40, you'll be shocked since you seem to be have no clue. What Siad Barre did.

History has been written, he definitely built Somalia more then anyone has ever done, THIS VIDEO IS PROOF . I am not related or a fan of his. I believe that although he brought good, by the end of his reign he had left the country worse then when he took control of it. But give credit where credit is due. Every major infrastructure in Somalia was built during his time. All the Ports from Berbera, Bosasso Mogadishu and down!! The airports, anyways watch the video for your proof.
