Garowe (PP News Desk) – Several days after Puntland Post broke the news that year eight Puntland certificate examinations had not been marked, the State Minister for Education Abdullahi Hassan Roble told Daljir Radio on the sidelines of Somalia Islamic Banking Forum that “year eight certificate examinations have not been marked due to time and resource constraints.”

Pressed to specify the constraints, Roble said that “they are hardly insurmountable. Puntland Education Ministry will mark examinations and publicise results so that pupils can begin their secondary school education.”

Puntland State Government has allocated a budget for the education sector.

“Either overspending or embezzlement has resulted in the failure to mark year eight certificate examinations. I expected Puntland MPs would take the government to task for dereliction of duty” said a retired teacher in Garowe.
