Wasiir Beyle wuxuu sheegay in lacagtaasi ay aheyd mid dowladda Sacuudiga ugu deeqday Soomaaliya, isaga oo amaanay in lacagtaasi lagu aamino dalka oo toos loogu soo shubay Bangiga Dhexe ee dalka.

Wasiirka ayaa sheegay in lacagtaasi bil walbaa ay kasoo bixin jireen inta ay u baahdaan inay ku kabaan mushaaraadka shaqaalaha dowladda, oo aysan jirin cid si gaar ah lacagta kaga baxsaneysay Bangiga Dhexe ee dalka.

Kalsooniyadda maaliyadeed ee ay sameeyeen xukuumadda Soomaaliya ayuu sheegay inay keentay in midowga Yurub dhankooda ay ku deeqeen 100 milyan oo lagu kabayo miisaaniyadda dowladda.

Galbeedi, fadlan fiirso the following clip si fiican u sharxaayo, particularly the first part:

The so-called financial committee in baarlamaanka waxaa ku jiro the known spoilers iyo xulafadooda. They are also the failed politicians from dowladii Xasan Sheekh, the most corrupt one we have had possibly ever seen. They are all projecting what they used to do. Dowladaas yaala xisaabtami jiray? Waligaa dowladaas maka maqashay 'xisaabxir' iyo meelahee ku baxaan the budget, the specific allocations. Waa maya. Mudane Beyle modernised the financial ministry. And made it more transparent.

When Xasan Sheekh's dowlad handed over, there was zero dollars left in the central bank and soldiers and civil servants were not paid at least seven months.

This group of spoilers' attempt of manufacturing this bogus controversy had a prime target aimed at: International stakeholders.

Since more international organizations - including IMF and World Bank - are paying directly to the financial ministry, they wanted to stop this source of income by creating this unfounded corruption allegation. Dadka iyo dalkeenaba uma daneynayaan those spoilers oo ka koow yahay Axmed Fiqi, Odowaa and other Dhiigacusub members. How come these same men meel walba been la taagan?

I guess it is never the fault of Farmaajo and his cohort what happens under their watch, it is always someone else’s fault.

The good news is the time of Farmaajo’s end is not far.  And Ahmed Madobe will outlast him.

Daahir, goormaa 'big supporter of Farmaajo' noqday?

I have never ever supported a political figure - shaqsi gaar ah - in my life. I firmly support what I consider to be rigid, uncompromising ideas, and whoever espouses and promulgates those ideas has my unyielding support. Those ideas are: Soomaalinimo, midnimada ummadda Soomaaliyeed meel walba ay joogaan iyo midnimada dalka Soomaaliya oo madaxbannaan.

Dowladaan hadda jirto waa the best soo maray Soomaaliya post-civil war, taasna waa run. Waxyaabo la taaban karo ayee qabatay and, of course, committed some political mistakes, chief among them being dhiibistii Qalbidhagax, even if the leadership were not aware of it, as some claim.

Bal no so bandhig wuxu farmaajo qabtay.

The idea that a qurbojoog, and worse, an Americanised qurbojoog who has been away for 30 odd years, with no or little understanding of  the cultural norms of Somalia today, can bring any meaninful change, is, frankly laughable.

The man has failed. I just hope he does not, intentionally or otherwise, start a new round of civil war before his time ends.

one thing is for sure, he won’t come back.

Somalia passes stringent measures to tackle corruption

11th December 2018 John Snow Featured, Somalia news 0

At a Government-led International Day Against Corruption event in Mogadishu, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Somali Federal Ministry of Justice and Judiciary Affairs have signed the first part of an agreement to develop a comprehensive approach to tackle corruption and increase public and private sector transparency in Somalia.

The International Day Against Corruption is marked each year on the anniversary of the ratification of United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), with 2018 marking the 15th anniversary of the Convention. The signing of the UN-supported plan at the Mogadishu event coincided with the announcement, by the Minister of Justice, Hassan Hussein Hajji, that the Federal Government would ratify the UN Convention against Corruption in the near future.

“Acceding to the UNCAC is part of our commitment towards a corruption free Somalia,” Minister Hajji said. “International Day Against Corruption provides an opportunity for Somalia and its international partners, to stand united against corruption. We affirm our mutual determination to strengthen transparency and accountability through the public and private sectors in Somalia,” he added.

During the event Peter de Clercq, the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Somalia, said corruption undermines public trust and weakens state institutions. “The United Nations supports Somalia in its efforts to eradicate corruption, and in building an enabling environment for accountable and effective institutions and processes at all levels.” Mr. de Clercq concluded.

The agreement between the Ministry and UNDP will see the UN development agency and other UN partners work together with the Government, to assess challenges and next steps in building more transparent systems and setting up required legal frameworks to address corruption.

Signing the document together with the Minister of Justice, UNDP Somalia acting Resident Representative, George Conway, congratulated the government on the progress it has made in increasing transparency, accountability and the rule of law in Somalia.

“What we are signing today is an agreement to provide technical and capacity development support to the Government, so that it can take a comprehensive approach to addressing corruption in the country and towards ratifying the UN Convention Against Corruption. It is my pleasure from the United Nations side to be able to support these initiatives to progress them forward,” Mr. Conway said.

It is expected that the initial assessment part of the plan will then lay the groundwork for a longer-term project to develop a crosscutting National Integrity System for Somalia, led by the Government with the support of the UN.
