    The Elites of Sool Sanaag and Hawd.

     

    As have stated in the above post, the Somali saying goes “lax walba shililkey isdhigto ayaa lagu qalaa” If the Elites of Sool, Sanaag and Hawd have been dynamicly active in their political rights then the adolescent politician-want to be Ina Adan Adde would not have surfaced at all. The elite of this region who dominated in the Civil Service in the first decade of independence are no where to be seen. The vacuum left by such elites whose political ingenuity is much needed are indeed filled by the dim-witted chaps like Fuad Adam Adde (this man’s father was one the most prominent men who fought for the indepence of the Somali-lands and their unification—he must be turning in his grave as his legacy is being challenged by none other than his own son). The abundance of the educated men and women who hail from this area of Somalia is numerous, but the lack of leadership is astonashing. Whenever you turn on the jagged BBC Somali section you are bombared with news that is being made by other than the people of SSH on their affairs.

     

    This must stop. History is in the making now. The shapping of Somalia to come is under way. The indifference should be got rid off, that is if they want to preserve the relative economic boom and peace that their people are enjoying.

     

    The ubsurdity of Somaliland Adminstration who without hesitence claiming a land that belongs to the residents of SSH should be shushed. A voice of Unity and Nationalism should be resroted as your region has been the birth-giver of Somalihood. Your people had never accepted the rule of British upon their soil. The argument that Sool, Sanaag and Hawd had been a part of Somaliland is nothing short of distortion of Somali history. The longest civil strive that led to the first airbombardment in Africa took place in your land. The Elite of SSH (Sool Sanaag and Hawd) should dispel the chimera that is created by the admistration of Hargeisa.

     

    Where should they take their people to?

     

    The Elites must respect the collective will of their people. They should bow to the needs and wants of the common man and Isimo of SSH. They should not highjack the future of their people.

     

    Awake the sleeping lion or the insects will suck your blood. Show youe strengh for long sleep has made us forget your power.

    Though I despise Morgan with gut-tightening effect, It makes me sick when I see people allulating the men of his ilk. Men who butchered innocent people; the likes of Ina Mirre, Dhagaweyne, Habane, Ina KAAHIN and all those who were Calan Cass (the Red Flag bearers).

     

    The only difference between these men and Morgan is the fact that Morgan's villification had been accepted by his kinsmen without no hesitence whereas the above mentiones men and thier likes are heroes of thier "people". They form part of the Somaliland Government?

     

    Just think what would the Northwestern Somalis (Somaliland) would say if Morgan would be member of the Puntland Cabinet?

     

    Let us get rid off the double standards, let us hate all these deservedly evil people equally without clanish emotional bias.

    With elation I respond to you all. I think many of us thread upon these forums primarilly for mental stimulation-- I for one being tired of western way of thinking seek solace from my fellow nomads!!! just to be conforted the same argumanets difference being the style or shall I say they are dressed in a fashion that beguiles me habitually thus rending my coming backs!!!. But nothing can be compared the thoughs that vapour-out of the inner beings of my fellow friends-- too many of them are around to be mentioned.

     

    Keep them coming, we are in a dire need for intellectual and Spritual stimulation.

     

    Anyhow, glad you have responded.

    Salaams,

     

    What compels you to write? With time being one of the most costly commodities in life, there are number of us that flock into these forums displaying sheer luxury of time—without no hesitance it must be said that most of the attendees are perhaps indeed occupied in some kind of labour be that as the monotonously boring academic life or the slavish work ethic of the Western countries we inhabit. So I ask what inspires you to write? Is it to momentarily forgo any semblance of reality or perhaps to subject your ever valued ideas upon poor souls like I?

    Unfortunately that is the civil Law for you. Under the English Law he will be convicted Murder and will then serve life--- 30 years perhaps or even less.

     

    Consent in Murder is not recognised unless it is a suicide pack-- where the Defendent and the victim agree to kill each other! but tafter killing one the other chicknes out, then the case will be invalontary manslaughter-- maximum sentence similiar to that of Murder.

    Let me Put on My Sheikh Cimaamad!

     

    Okay, this is a matter that seeks a religious illumination- one of course I personally lack. However, as the prophet SCW said Balaquu canii walow Ayaa: deliver from me what you learn even it is only one verse. This is the Hadith with indeed obliges me to respond to this issue.

     

    I feel many of the sisters (and enough some brothers too) have missed the point. Granted the question which has been asked were followed to be responded, I think the answer should have been tailored in a manner or form that should be different from the way it has been presented. Which angle should we look from?

     

    The issue is as Bee (nice new nick, you go girl :cool: ) has said, Allah has indeed spoke about the manner of the Hijab in the Quran. Allah Says [Chapter 24, verses 30-31] "O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons...that they should be known and not molested." [Chapter 33, verse 59]

     

    Al Acraaf “O Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts, etc.) and as an adornment, and the raiment of righteousness, that is better. Such are among the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, that they may remember (i.e. leave falsehood and follow truth).

     

    An authenticated Hadith says “.If the woman reaches the age of puberty, no part of her body should be seen but this --- and he pointed to his face and hands."

     

    The vast preponderance of Muslim scholars and jurists, past and present, have determined the minimum requirements for Muslim women's dress: 1) Clothing must cover the entire body, with the exception of the face and the hands. 2) The attire should not be form fitting, sheer or so eye-catching as to attract undue attention or reveal the shape of the body.

     

    The question is then, do the attire that Somalis traditionally wear satisfy the above requirements? Surely, dirac and particularly the guntiino ama gareys fall outside the above-stipulated requirements. Also the shalmad and the other famous things that we traditionally wear are indeed so colourful that they will fail to satisfy the last requirement—eye-catching bit. Also the Hadith clearly dismisses diric and what have you to be Islamic attire. It is an Islamic duty for men and women to dress appropriately, most of the above requirements save the latter part of the first requirement and last one apply to the men’s attire. We should not be wearing jeans that show our particular anatomical structure.

     

    The Hijab is not an Arab thing neither is it Asiatic; it is indeed a Islamic garment that should not be domesticated to certain culture. It should be the sign that unifies all the sisters around the globe. The idea of nationalistic idiom of culture being the center of our being is nothing short of a hallow mantra. The Hijab, in its different forms have same streak between it and those are mentioned the above requirements.

     

    Our Culture should be policed by what is more important to us and that is religion. Our tradition should be defined by Islam of which we gave ourselves to.

     

    May Allah guide us all.

    Hibooy waan ku tabney! meaning we missed you.

     

    This is very sad news weeye. I am really captured great to the extent that I think I am going lose sleep over this Walaahi! 4 percent of the population in a Somali city is infected with HIV/AIDS or as they say Afar xarafle?

    Muraad: I swear when I first read dhiilo (war laga naxo) I knew some would misunderstand the meaning. Ka qalee Hibo genuine-ly ayeey uga xanaaqdey arinkaas e. Hibooy walaal, Muraad waa gentleman, wac aan xariir aheyn afkiisa kama eysoo degaan.
