  1. ^^^^Very sad development. In the words of Me....Let it burn baby! Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it!
  2. 1. Majority of them support the TFG. They give hiil iyo hooba because they associate clanwise with a man that spearheads the TFG, Abdullahi Yusuf. By this logic, I guess the only reason that you support the Somaliland is simply your tribe enjoys a complete political domination in the north west. Currently as we speak there is no republic, the republic that once existed was fought by all Somalis, how ill visioned are you che? Well, there is no nation or state called Somaliland either. That doesn't stop you supporting or hoping for an indepedent Somaliland. Why should Somalis abandon the idea of a united Somalia. Somaliland is the most prospering region, yet they oppose it though they know they could gain many things such economical development. A good example would be the difference between Awdal and Sool. Awdal has benefited and Sool is still lagging behind. Both regions is resided by non X tribes. Depends on what your consider prosperity. Somaliland like all other Somali regions depend on the remittances from abroad, and the aid from foriegn donors. The administration's entire budget doesn't exceed 30mill (correct me if iam wrong). It doesn't have enough resources to provide education, health, effective policing, and civic duties to the public in Waqooyi Galbeed let alone those in SSh. The little it has goes to the pockets of public servants and armed forces. The only thing Somaliland could offer Sanaag and Sool a slice of the aid coming from international donors. Actually Somaliland doesnt' rule nor have any say in most parts of Sool, it's absent. Their kinsmen from Puntland rule most parts of sool and Eastern Sanaag. Somaliland hasn't been given teh chance to even try to meet with elders or groups from the area. No Somaliland's politica figure can show up there, even if their was to build a school or hospital. The first things that would come to mind would be he is from Hargeysa, therefore he has no right to be here. First of all, Somaliland can't afford to build schools and hospitals. That's plain false. Almost all new facilities all over Somalia are built by foriegn or by Somali diasporo communities. And since, you stated that people in these regions don't welcome officials from Hargeysa, why do you think it is that way? Very simple. What do you have? what have you provided? Everything about Southern somalis or should I say 'proper' somalis has been a big failure. The problem with Somalia is the capital once run by marauding warlords ,and now controlled by defunct organization imposed on the citizenry by foriegn mercenaries with the mighty Dollar. The rest of somalia has always been for most part at peace, and places like Pland has functioning system. Majority in the south are willing to coexist together and move forward as one nation. Somaliland on its part has achieved peace and stability, but nothing to warrant for it to become its own indepedent nation. Surely, Somaliland could have engaged with more peaceful southern regions, the obvious being the neighbor on its east. I would admit the idea of Mogadisho goverment coming to reconcile looks like distant dream now, but the reality is Somaliland is as divided as the south ( though not as volatile)since the administration in hargeysa doesn't enjoy support all over the eastern regions. So, why not engage with other peaceful regions, and move towards an effort to unify the nation. And finally and I hope you don't dodge this question, why not become an autonomous region within a federal system if you are seeking is self-governance and management of your own resources?
  3. ^^^He is Muslim...Only uses right hand!
  4. LooooooL@looks like someone speaking from experience.
  5. Badacas....It seems we are going circles saaxib. Let's first be few issues to rest. You stated reer Sanaag and Sool support Somaliweyn simply of cuz the Qabiil connection. That's an assertion you made. I would like to know how you come to that conclusion. It is my thinking even though Reer Sool and Sanaag want to be part of Somalia, their reasons for staying with union varies, but few important ones that comes to mind are: 1. Their ancestors fought along all other Somalis to attain this republic. 2. Their communities have vested interest in terms of relationships and properties not in Pland, but all over the south. They are econimically, politically and culturally integrated into Somali proper. 3. The Somaliland administration has given a sufficient enough reason and explanation for reer Sanaag and Sool to break ties with the south. I doubt it is only Qabiilism that motivates reer Sanaag and Sool, that's to say Qabiil doesn't play a part in their decisions. And Saaxib, could tell us what is Somaliland looking for that couldn't be addressed within the confines of proper Somali?
  6. Duke....I thought Madoobe was the best man for that job. What did he do to get axed?
  7. Khaanadaa la galiye since aad adigu faraha kala joogi waday. Admin got tired suu waryaa kuu lahaa.
  8. Aw...Ceeb yaa khay, nobody does Somalia...well maybe for few billion dollars....LooooooL The operation in Somalia seems to heading for failure as the Ethiopians can't pacify Mogadisho, and the TFG obviously won't gain the support of the Somali people. As the article stated, there will be no military solution to the crisis in Somalia. One part might enjoy the upper hand today, but it is unlikely any one party would assume the control of this devastated nation. Only a geniune reconcialation between parties and without the presence of the Ethio muscle would help us move and reconstitute our lost state. This however will not likely happen as long as the Yanks are bankrolling Ethio operation and the TFG continous believing that only force would subdue the Mogadisho insurgency.
  9. If you respect the people' wishes, then they have chosen to remain seperate. Only thing that can turn them back might be a force, though I doubt that is possible either, and I don't think you would suggest that would you? I would respect the choice made by reer Waqooyi, and by the same token, I would hope the entity in Hargeisa will respect the wishes of Sanaag and Sool. Secondly, again the troubled areas of Sool and Sanaag as I said have their wishes, I don't know if you missed my point there.. Just to clarify what do you think are their wishes? Finally, I am not accusing them folks in Eastern Sanaag and Sool of clanism, but I am saying it has less to do with the love of Somalinimo that Sool and Eastern Sanaag folks want to have nothing to do with Somaliland. They fear mostly of being dominated politically by Clan X which is the majority in Somaliland. That hasn't been the case for Awdal as Borama the capital of Awdal is more developed than Berbera and even Burco perhaps. As far as Qabiil wise, yes the city of Caynabo and Oog are both in Sool, both are resided by clans related to Hargeysa. Also Western Sanaag is resided by clans related to hargeysa, so they do want to remain with Somaliland. As you know Ceerigabo is resided in some parts clans related to majority tribe in Somaliland, though even the non X tribe in that area mostly SEEM to support Somaliland' case.[/i] [/QB] Again here, you are being contradictory and self reassuring when it comes to the wishes of eastern Sanaag and Sool. First, you have no any real evidence to suggest the only reason the good of SSH want to stay with Somali proper is because of Qabiilism. Is there an actual survey to suggest just an assertion. And again, how could accuse of Qabiilism when you yourself claim parts of Sool and Sanaag by hightling the tribal connections between some residents in these regions, and those of Hargeysa. Saaxib, you either take the Qabiil equation out of debate or don't accuse the SSH of Qabiilism. Artel Dodger....What are preferred goals of Somaliland's self determination. Is it necesitated by need for a degree of political, cultural and econimical autonomy or do the people of Somaliland felt that they are under colonial occupation?
  10. No more talks either. What I don't understand what are these Odoyaasha doing. Don't they know the Ethios were simply buying time. 11. Saaxib Bacadacas....I understand the wishes of the people of Somaliland, but I don't get the reasoning behind it. You haven't given any justifications for Sland independence as you only noted their wishes. Also my friend, the truth remains not all Slanders specially those hailing from the troubled regions and to some extent Reer Awdel share dream of breaking away. mostly they are anti Somaliland not only because of seccesion but because of Qabiil, therefore, we should note that areas in Sool and Sanaag are resided by clans related to Hargeysa. Finally, you can't use Qabiil when and where it serves you. How could in the same sentence accuse reer Sanaag and Sool of Qabiilism while also alluding to the fact that there are Qabiils in Sool and Sanaag that ethnically related to Hargeysa.
  12. MJ Badacas, can you answer these questions. Saaxib...Clarify few things for me, do you support Sland attempt to secure the old colonial boundaries in order to enhance their chance for recognition. And do you wholly believed it is justified to break away from the rest of the country. And lastly, if the people of SSH don't share the same gaols as the Hargeisa administration, would you rally behind forceful annexation by Sland army? -------------------- web page
  13. ^^^^Boston Aw, and majority here openly rally behind Yeey.

Pointless to issue a fatwa to validate such obvious situation. What are they doing to unify Somalis in this struggle rather simply stating the obvious.

  18. Ulemmada mounts to nothing!! Useless declarations that's all.
  19. Just why do want to Sool and Sanaag to break away with Somaliland? They are not being ignored is not valid reason. It is at best just your opinion.
  20. ^^^I don't see what the big hoopla is.There is an inherent danger in every cause that one undertakes. Iam sure she knew the risk associated with speaking out. What these hooligans did is abominable, but their action is not unique or anymore heinous than the communist party does to a Falun Gong Believer. Jailed them and move on.
