  1. Brothers, For the moment I don't think any somali region has the ideal business conditions for oil exploration thats including Somaliland and Puntland.
  2. True say Almasluul, we have to learn from historical mistakes.
  3. Mobb, sahiib I quoted former SNM as a somewhat "extremist" point of view in Somaliland society to point out the irony of their prediction, still you managed to miss the point maybe simply because the word SNM itself still carries alot of weight with some people.
  4. Rahima, what about the TNG that demonized Somaliland as an insignificant run away region? And even worst they claim to represent us on the world stage. Isn't that worst? It's all politics walaal, its a dirty game by nature.
  5. Bashi, Sahiib war mongoring will not ease your frustrations towards Somaliland hastily declared the whole former colony and now they can't substantiate their claim nor do they have the muscle and the will to fight Puntlanders with land that is not theirs. Is this what it has come to? Some former SNM leaders predicted our Nation would be facing such problems in the future and I think their predictions might be true. Why are people always so hasty to pick a fight? Puntland recently achieved peace between Jamac and Yusuf, which was a great step towards some lasting peace in that region. Do they really want to turn their warlord tactics towards Somaliland? I personally think that would be a mistake, specially for any peace loving region. I think you should take a look at this article, where the Puntland forces and Somaliland forces meet in Lascanood. Take note of the phrase I put in bold, I choose Reuters as a source for any skeptics that might cry propaganda. HARGEISA, Somalia (Reuters) -- Four people were killed when Somali militiamen attacked a guest house sheltering the president of the breakaway enclave of Somaliland, who appeared to escape without injury, witnesses said on Sunday. Militiamen loyal to the government of the rival territory of Puntland raided the entourage of the Somaliland leader on Saturday when he visited a town disputed by the two enclaves. The Somaliland president, Dahir Riyale Kahin, had travelled to the town of Las Anod to visit local leaders, marking the first official visit by a Somaliland President to the town since Somaliland declared its independence in 1991. Leaders of Puntland, which borders Somaliland in the north of Somalia, said they were opposed to Kahin's presence on what they consider their territory. "We could not have fulfilled our operation if it did not have the support of our people," said the deputy interior minister of Puntland, Ahmed Aden, who was among the leaders of the attack. "We are fighting for the unity of Somalia," he told Reuters by telephone. There is a large military presence in Sool of militiamen loyal to Puntland and Somaliland troops which are raising the stakes of a possible military war. Following the attacks, their have been a vast amount of military hardware building up near Las Anod by Somaliland forces which have a superior military might then Puntland. The identity of the casualties during the attack were unclear, although witnesses said one was a former governor of the town. Dahir and his entourage fled during the fighting, witnesses said. Leaders from Puntland, as well as other factions and a shaky transitional government based in the Somali capital Mogadishu, are holding peace talks in Kenya aimed at ending a decade of anarchy in the country. The United States fears the lack of strong central authority in Somalia, a lawless Horn of Africa state in the grip of rival warlords, could provide an ideal haven for militants. Washington has set up sea patrols along with Britain, France and other countries to search for members of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network who they fear might try to flee there. SmithNwestern, he fact that so called Somalilanders took part in the sacking of Galkacyu and that officers from Hargaysa and the Burco triangle wantonly killed on behalf of the Siyad regime is well known Your wrong on this one broa, the former SNA soldiers stationed in Hargeisa where not local people, Siyaad choose his soldiers among the southern populations simply because he didn't trust the local people. He feared opposition within his army when it came to commiting atrocities; it is simply natural for local army men to rebel against the oppression of their own.
  6. Has it ever occurred to you just how much the international community wants a united Somali Republic? Cabdiqaasim Salaad Hassan and his TNG government, although they controlled no less then two blocks in Xamar, were instantly given the Somali seat at the United Nations, Arab League, Organization of African Unity, Organization of Islamic Conference, and the Non-Aligned Movement., while "Somaliland", which had been peaceful and prosperous for the last decade, wasn't spared a single glance. Everything you stated above is True Hornafrique. Just one problem, what have they done for the people of Somalia and the country they claim to represent?. Those hypocrites hold all international positions and receive most of international funding and yet: Do they control any land past the few blocks in mogadishu? NO Have they brought security to ANY region? NO Have they brought prosperity with all the internationale funding they received? NO Have they been able to bring about the demise of an underfunded, unrecognozied, self-declared republic of Somaliland? NO With all their wealth (aid=beging money), can they compete with the self-sufficient economy of Somaliland? NO etc...I could go on, but I'm sure you're probably aware of all this. Which brings me to the point I'm trying to make with all this, Exactly what does this example tell you about international recognition?
  7. Actually Angel the SNM flag was RED at the top white and Green at the bottom with the "shaxadaa" in the middle. But your not far off, the Somaliland flag was based on that SNM flag.
  8. Libaax sahiib shaxaa waan ku shubeey Thanks for your input on the SS&H issue, I'm glad to hear an honest perspective. I due agree on certainly one of your points and that is concerning the slight shift in the populous depending on which side is being clever. I have a couple of questions for you tough. The majority of people against the secession don't necessarily support a new sovereignty under Puntland and its administration am I right? If anything they are neutral or undecided when it comes to both governments. The second question I had for you is where would you draw a say "line of allegiance" in Sanaag. You say East Sanaag is not supportive of Somaliland, so I'm asking where would you draw the line geographically? Samurai, I am not one to talk negative about somalis who are trying to progress as in the case of Puntland. They have come some ways since the days of the war, Lakiin you gotta stop these ridiculous comparisons with Somaliland simply because the 2 "states" don't compare both historically and in modern day times. Sometimes I read your postings and wonder whether you're trying to convince others of your beliefs, or you're really trying to convince yourself of their validity. I kinda found it ironic you used the states of Puntland and Somaliland in the same post where you mentioned the 26 th of June.
  9. hornafrique, thank you very much for that definition, it is all I needed.
  10. shaqsii, actually referendum wouldn't be a bad Idea at all. At least this way we can finaly figure out the will of the people in SS&H whitout any misleading propaganda.
  11. In this case an enemy would be anybody taking action towards the dismantling or destruction of Somaliland Does that supposed action mean anyone who calls for unification with the Somali Republic? If that is what you mean Lander where does freedom of speech and the various other civil liberties stand in so-called "Somaliland"? hornafrique I don't know if you always read and reply so hastily, but define the word ACTION for me please. I even put that word in bold and emphasized it in my previous reply, La ilaa...how else can I get through to you.
  12. Shaqsii good point, but what most people don't realize or just seem to ignore on this thread is that this man took part of the nairobi conference and probably was seen has a somalilander representative. If he was just an old man who is speaking his mind on issues it would have been a completely different story. I think Hadrawii has expressed anti-somaliland sentiments before, and no one ever talked of taking action against him. In a democratic society, everybody has a right to their own opinion. But Yare's actions and I emphasize action here because he did more than express his views when he decided to take part of the nairobi conference, are a direct threat to the very existence and sovereignty of our state and should be seen as so. Our people fought for and declared independence long ago, and here one man who doesn't agree with the majority decides to take matters in his own hands and speak on behalf of the people of Somaliland. I ask you people with a sense of morality, where is the justice in that? Actions like his have been seen before in Somaliland, in the form of Abdiraxman Tuur and Omar Carte. For whatever reasons these men take such selfish actions, whether it be greed or a lust for power, they all should forever remain as traitors. Once you cross that fine line, there is no coming back. TREASON: Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies* *In this case an enemy would be anybody taking action towards the dismantling or destruction of Somaliland. I invite the rest of the nomads to share their own beliefs on TREASON, without necessarily referring to the Yare example but a more general and universal opinion. What constitutes treason to you?
  13. I'm sick of these internal qabiil battles, a traitor to me is a traitor no matter his clan. Like mobb_deep said, Jamac Jare should have never came to Hargeisa in the first place. If these men are mobilizing on our beloved capital city to defend treachery, they should be dealt with accordingly.
  14. Libaax, sahiib what is your personal opinion on the political divide in SS&H? where do you think the people stand concerning Somaliland in each respective region? the only region that I might be certain has a majority opposing Somaliland might be Sool, and that I am not even 100% sure. The others seem to be split closely, that is my account on matters so far. As for your question of whether these regions should remain in Somaliland, I personally think they should. There have been such examples in history where some regions had been against secession or a political movement and yet overtime became part of that nation. (i.e. emancipation of the US and some majority loyalist states, the victory of the Vietcong in Vietnam and the submergence of a communist regime through out the whole country including the south).
  15. Libaax, you should take the fact that both angel-dust and hornafrique, are accusing you of taking one side or the other in the political divide, as a compliment to your fairness.
  16. hornafrique, any Somalilander who called for reunification with Somalia "calls into question the existence of the country and will therefore face the law". The key word here is somalilander , and the words of the minister are surely taken out of context. I'm sure he was refering to Jare's involvement in the kenyan conference and how it is contradictory to the constitution every Somalilander should respect. If Yare is a Somaliland citizen, he has a duty to respect and abide by the constitution. If he doesn't, then its only fair he face the law. Personnaly, I feel we should have some new legislation to be passed in parliment regarding TREASON. Somaliland is like any other country, if you do not wish to abide by its constitution and laws, then you should never take up citizenship.
  17. Libaax I agree with you about political freedoms. Lakiin it was unclear to me the role of the man in question in the Nairobi Conference. If he was there pretending to represent the interest of Somaliland and Somalilanders, then he was committing treason against the state and disregarding the constitution. The president clearly stated before this conference that no one was to represent Somaliland's interest at that conference. I have a feeling he was being used as a token "somalilander". Maybe you people can elaborate on his role in Nairobi.
  18. waraa section, I grew up in flemo too saxiib, I pass by it not too long ago, some thangs have changed niyoo, most thangs are still the same lakiin.
  19. Lol… Nice one Legend. But your trick just a simple play on numbers. Notice how when you add 1753 or 1752 You end up with a number in 2003 except of the change in the hundreds which corresponds to how many times you go out (the original number). I.e (for 1753) 2 2 03 2 3 03 2 4 03 etc.... I can help you set up one for next year if you like. You might wanna continue freakin ppl out.
  20. This entire article is laughable in its credibility. Davidson accused him of lying, and in the end the Vice President threatened to execute him if he ever returns to Awdal or Somaliland. The Vice President told Mr. Davdison and Van Notten that they must leave the country immediately. They made it to the airport, where their passports were stamped "Deported" as they left. Ha ha ha, I like the minister’s style. For once Somalis turn their violent tendencies towards foreigners and not each other. Those spoiled kids should find themselves I new playground. Long Live the Republic
  21. I think Ronaldhino will be more usefull to Manchester than Beckham ever was. I don't see Beckham fitting into Real Madrid though. To many stars in mid-field.
  22. Libaax, sahiib overall you people are doing a good job, I feel more attention could be paid to indirect attacks by means of manipulative tools such as discrediting individual merit. But all in all, you people seem to be doing well, keep it up.
  23. Bravooo...to John Kerry He's been my favourite Democratic Candidate. A true relunctant-warior, decorated veteran.
