Isaguna muxuu ahaa bal iyara xasuusi, is it sida loo sooho masafta, ama sida sadex-dhudoodka loo xidho (ama shaash iyo guntiino, braless, half your body revealed) while singing the heelo? Mise waa fijaan dhisid? Mise waa muqmad jarid...maya, maya, it must be sida ragga cagaha loogu dhaqo oo loogu masaajeeyo, eh? Intaba iguma ogid!!! Bas khalas, I do still want a custom made fijaan from Jigjiga, even if the would-be receiver would have no clue what it is. Marka, ninyahow, gabdhaha isaga hadh waxey kuu tuhmeen bey qabaanee. . KUGUMA OGI guntiino sensa rubajeeto!! Laakin heelada and cago-dhaqidu.. hmmmmmm, those are really useful skills to have.
  2. KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- "In Afghanistan, the sacrifice in the political game is women and children," female Afghan parliamentarian Fawzia Koofi said. Koofi says that is exactly what happened when the Afghan parliament recently passed a bill intended to give the minority Shia community their own identity. But critics say the latest draft strips Shia women of rights as simple as leaving the house without permission from a male relative and as extreme as allowing a man to have sexual intercourse with his wife even when she says, "No." These critics wonder how what amounts to rape in marriage could be passed by parliament and signed into law by President Hamid Karzai. continue
  3. What is the main reason behind this? lately there is more and more young single mothers in the somali community. Very simple. Women don't have to stay in a bad marriage any more.

  7. There are hair-raising stories about sisters killing their husbands to avenge their brothers and satisfy family honour, and being well regarded for it. You get much the same sentiment in Icelandic sagas such as Gisla, in which sisters unhesitatingly side with their brothers against their husbands. Yea, sisters are great, but if this is what's expected of them, then my brothers can adopt one fast. It's not like they would do the same thing: kill their wives to avenge me, or side with me against them. I pray such situation never arises, but thinking about it just made my head start hurting way too much...

  10. ahah@Cadan. Here's a photo I took out of my car window last year while driving through angry protesters..
  11. Would you prefer that we just behave like uninformed sheep and do what they deem is best for us? In case you missed it, this is on SOL's front page: Study confirms more Mpls. Somali children in autism programs By CHRIS WILLIAMS Associated Press Writer MINNEAPOLIS — Young Somali children in the Minneapolis public schools are over-represented in autism programs, the Minnesota Health Department reported, confirming the observations of many Somali parents and educators. "The Somali community is justifiably concerned that there is something happening here in Minnesota or Minneapolis that could be causing autism that they weren't seeing in their children in Somalia," Where there's smoke, there's fire! I don't blame them for not trusting the healthcare system. There appears to be W-A-Y more autism these days, there must be a reason, no? As for labeling, I share their sentiments Walahi. Anytime a child steps out of line or gets an F in finger-painting class the teachers right away blame it on something; ADHD/ADD/AFG/BTJ/XNW .. yaahuuu baa la idin yiri dhe! There are many that are misdiagnosed just because they think/play differently, or relate to others differently. Who has decided that this is wrong? How would you feel if all of a sudden the professionals told you that you're CRAZY..that the way you thought and acted was abnormal???? Just food for thought. All we can do is try our best...and say nay to the labels they give our kids.
  12. Indhoos, jiis bay ahayd, laakin waa qarisay. She said she fell @ the airport whilst struggling to pull her luggage along.
  13. Hey Generale, good thread. It does my heart good to see you without your straight-jacket, and already having read so much wonderful literature. I guess there's hope for the future after all. I just started The Audacity Of Hope by Barack Obama. A thought-provoking read and very insightful.
  14. FB, she's not the only one disabled here, being a jerk counts too. I met several guys who would be classified as emotionally disabled, if they were seen by a doctor about it. So, the guy who rejects the girl is being deceitful asagaba for precisely the same reasons. Marka, win-win situation weeyaan.. A friend of mine's brother was in a LD relationship with a woman in Carabaha, pretty and everything, he was falling head over heels for this woman. Anywys, naagti markay u timid, he was completely taken by surprise, she was hobbling everywhere!! naa maxa ku helay markuu waydiiyay: eeraboortadaan kusoo kufay intaan faliinjoojiynka jiidayay . Cala iya xaal, naagtii wuu guursaday, and here she's today, after two kids and four years later, lugtii weli waa raysan la'dahay. Illaah baan kugu dhaarshee, naagtaas raggeediii ma tahay, haa oo haa?
  15. lol yes, they musta been cute infants, how else a mother could give such a name!
  16. When I hear names like "Luul" and "Sulekha", I picture these beatiful, beautiful women that you can't take your eyes off them as if they had just stepped out of the pages of VS catalogue!
  17. Originally posted by Haneefah: Allah xaasidsanidaa, Nephisaay! Maskiintu maxay galabsatey to derserve such a name Allaah, maxa ka qurux magacaaas? Naa, ana tolow ma sidasaa i oran lahayd markan gabadhayda u bixiyo Shilabo?
  18. yes and no. If he's so shallow to reject and deny me my god-given right to a shot at happy blisfull marriage life, because of a disability/health condition I had no control over, why should I care about his heart and feelings?
  19. L0L@CC's inspection. kkkkkk, do they tap, shake, squeeze & smell, like I do at the grocery store, produce section. I am of two minds on this subject. On one hand, I think that honesty is a good policy. On the other, if my invisible disability is a deal-breaker that no man would ever want or ever love me, I would not disclose it. I'd cover it up, continue the relationship and see where it goes. Hal habben xitaa ha ila soo qabo, maxaa iiga jiro, ka gasho nacala washaqa! Guumeeys waaye, ha iga harto!!!!
  20. Horta Somalida dad ka qaab daran! Intas magacyo wadamo/continent ay la baxaan sida Baarliin, Hindiya, Iglan, Istarliin, Aasiya. Ma arkeesid mid Somalia la baxaayo.. , marka JB adiga noo biloow nin wadani ba tahaye, Somaliland u bixi gabadha.
  21. ^ , thanks. Not noticable in plain view = poop bag attached to her stomach, under jalbaabka! [istaqfurullah..Ista qfurullah..] or she has hearing aids in both ears, unless she mentions it, no one even sees/notices.
  22. If a girl has a disability that's not noticable in plain view, do you think she should disclose it to her potential suitor right away, Or do you think she should cover it up?
  23. na maxa la iga kaa siiyaa o indhaha igu rogeeysaa? I would say bite this....(_I_) but I think it would piss you off too bad... . Ciao Ibty, salaamaat. Edit: Farancab, I don't use the PM feature anymore. Nafti yareyd ba la ii keenay, harassment.. . I had no choice but to shut it off completely.
