  1. I think the saying "kud ka guur oo qanjo u guur" applies to Kulmiye if Gaboose and Muusa Biixi become the new leadership of Kulmiye party. I hope those guys will disappear from the Somaliland's list of leadership. But, Silaanyo needs to leave Kulmiye if the party wants to gain bigger base and become popular in all six regions of Somaliland. And I believe a guy like Maygaag will just do that. The other party which needs leadership change is UCID. Feisal A. Waraabe should either learn how to share party leadership with other party leaders or leave UCID for good. Ahmed Yussuf is just like Siraanyo because they both know how to lead groups instead of a nation. And please do not even mention Saleeban Gaal who cannot even win Burco where he is from.
  2. Posted on Wed, Mar. 21, 2007 26 animals seized from Calif. motel room Associated Press SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Santa Cruz County authorities have confiscated more than two dozen animals from a couple who were hoarding them in their motel room they shared with two children. Staff of the downtown Santa Cruz motel went to the man and woman's room on Tuesday because they had not heard from the couple in more than a month. Inside they found 20 domestic birds, a cat and a rabbit. There was one dead bird in a cage and three others stuffed in the freezer. "In this particular case, they also collected junk in addition to animals," said Todd Stosuy, animal control manager for the Santa Cruz County Animal Services Authority. The couple, who shared the room with their two children, could face misdemeanor animal neglect charges, but they were not cited or arrested.
  3. Dog With College Degree Called to Court Thursday, March 1, 2007 (03-01) 14:31 PST Fostoria, Ohio (AP) -- An attorney challenging the authority of the city's police chief wants the department's police dog to appear in court as an exhibit, because he says the dog and the chief have criminal justice degrees from the same online school. The issue gives "one pause, if not paws, for concern" about what it takes to get the degrees from the school based in the Virgin Islands, Gene Murray wrote in a court document filed Monday. Murray is seeking to have a drug charge against a client dismissed by arguing that police Chief John McGuire — who is accused of lying on his job application — was not legally employed and had no authority as an officer. McGuire is to go on trial in March on charges of falsification and tampering with records. A special prosecutor said McGuire lied on his application and resume about his rank, position, duties, responsibilities and salary in three of his previous jobs. McGuire was hired as chief of this northwest Ohio city a year ago. The union that represents Fostoria police officers and dispatchers filed a lawsuit challenging McGuire's hiring. Murray said asking that the police dog, Rocko, show up in court at an evidence hearing is a key to discrediting McGuire, who took part in a traffic stop and search in October that resulted in drug possession charges against Clifford Green of Fostoria. Both McGuire and Rocko, who is listed as John I. Rocko on his diploma, are graduates of Concordia College and University, according to copies of diplomas that are part of Murray's motion. The court filing did not say how the attorney knows that diploma is for the dog or how Rocko allegedly managed to enroll in the college. "My client had absolutely nothing to do with any animal getting a degree from an institution of higher learning," said McGuire's attorney, Dean Henry. "The whole thing is bizarre." He said the dog was with the department before McGuire began working there. Seneca County Prosecutor Ken Egbert said he will ask the judge to deny the request and limit the hearing to matters that are relevant. "I don't think it's necessary to bring the actual dog," Egbert said. A date has not been set for the evidence hearing. City leaders have said McGuire's hiring was not influenced by his college degree, and any confusion about his background was resolved during interviews. "We've already been through all that," Safety Service Director Bill Rains. "That was answered to our satisfaction." Fostoria is about 35 miles southeast of Toledo.
  4. Symptoms of postpartum depression: Trouble sleeping Feeling irritable, angry, or nervous Feeling exhausted Not enjoying life as much as in the past Lack of interest in the baby Lack of interest in friends and family Lack of interest in sex Feeling guilty or worthless Feeling hopeless Crying uncontrollably Feelings of being a bad mother Trouble concentrating Low energy Thoughts of harming the baby or harming herself
  5. Cara, I think you're right about the study being involved in younger women. Thanks for reminding me that. Where science research is hurting the most is when it is involved in dieting. There are many confusing results coming from those researches. How many times we've to hear contradicting conclusions on the correlation between fatty foods and weight gain. Have you heard that drinking whole milk (not skim milk)will help you lose weight? I am still trying to remember where I saw (during the last month)that article.
  6. Small country with big heart and still developing. I hope you ENJOY the beauty. Sofitel Al-Maha Resort This is the famous Doha Sheraton Hotel. Doha Intercontinental Hotel.
  7. nice beautiful city. I was there today for the International culture festival.
  8. about a year ago I read another study that suggested women who are fat are less likely to have breast cancer than lean women. So, it is always good to know who has sponsored and paying for the study. Is it mcdonalds or jenny craig!
  9. Does this kind of depression starts usually after having the third child? Or that is when this depression is at its worst stage and most noticeable? Well, almost all the people I know or heard who have this depression, it starts soon after having their third child. And the problem becomes worst as mother starts blaming herself for not being able to take care of her family by not feeding kids regularly, not able to clean the house and feeling bad all the time. Since we, men, are ignorant about this disease we have no choice but blame her for being lazy.
  10. I think I can also fit in here and stay warm since this place is both cold and old. But I thought thermal underwears are for hunters and campers. whats wrong with you ladies, and what happen to the popularity of vaseline for such occasions.
  11. Cara, I used to be skeptic until I saw what happened to a lady that I knew. Before this happen to her, she was somebody that you would admire her capabilities and strong will. After she got the depression she could not feed her kids and could not even take care of herself. Then she started having thoughts of suicide, and that is when she sought help and was admitted to hospital to get treatment.
  12. Those factors and elements include our nafs, the devil and socialization processes, particularly the home environment. I am glad you mentioned that cuz it is important one to know that adam's construction (creating his body)was perfected and then other elements such as "nafta" was thrown in there by God and it is prone to sin. That is why we have to always keep fighting within ourselves and need Prophets and God's books to clarify things for us. This "nafta" in our soul always wants what shaydaan wants us to do. so, thanks clarifying that such elements of imperfection exist in us.
  13. Depression: the silent sickness By MARGIE RIGNEY 3/20/07 I don't go to the doctor very often. In fact, when I went last week, I asked him when my last visit was, and it was in December. That doesn't mean I haven't been sick, I just usually treat myself with OTC meds or previously prescribed "remedies." When that doesn't work, I usually find out too late that whatever I have has mutated into some sort of "uber" illness that requires antibiotics. The reason I wait is because I am in denial. I don't like admitting I can become susceptible to things out of my control. So lately, when I noticed I had chest pain, pain in my arm and I was easily agitated, I thought it best to make an appointment. During my exam, which indicated a rise in blood pressure, but normal EKG, we began to discuss different diagnoses and just as I had feared, the term "chemical imbalance" popped up and reared its head once again in my life. When I was first diagnosed with depression, or a chemical imbalance, my daughter was 11 months old. What I had self-diagnosed as "baby blues'' when she was a newborn, was actually post-partum depression. Because I didn't share my deep feelings with my OB/gyn at my check-up, I developed a chemical imbalance before she was a year old. I loved her so very much, but I felt so overwhelmed. I felt like if I admitted or shared my issues of being tired, frustrated or unhappy people would think I was a horrible person and mother, so I kept those feelings to myself. I am sure others could see that I was not myself, I had two other children, and I am sure my baby could sense it as well. Perhaps that is why she was such a fussy baby, she was trying to tell mama something, but I was just too stubborn to listen. When my doctor told me a few years ago I had depression I thought he had to be mistaken. Weren't depressed people in bed? I certainly never did that. I could barely sleep at night, much less during the day. I was one of the busiest women I knew. I ran a house, gardened, kept people fed, clean and on time for the school bus. This couldn't be me, I was too busy for depression. My physician explained to me that there are many symptoms of depression, and that I was someone who made too much adrenaline, which certainly explained why I had begun to run my house like a boot camp and noticed that the woman in the mirror was wearing quite a noticeable frown. In the midst of my depression, I couldn't see it. The old saying "you can't see the forest for the trees''is certainly true. I felt so put upon and laden with work. Instead of facing each morning as a fresh start, I felt like it was just another day I would never get back. Keeping this to myself, I went through each day as usual and struggled to keep a sparkling clean house in the process. A few times when the thought of seeking help came over me, I would tuck that idea away, and say to myself that I was just being selfish. Giving in to the thought of seeking medical help seemed like a weakness on my part. Looking back, I had truly lost touch with what life was all about, and I was doing a disservice to myself, my husband and my children too. Because as we all know, if mama's not happy, nobody's happy. Now that I know more about depression, it is a comfort to know I can overcome it. I realize that this situation is only temporary and it doesn't mean that I am crazy or getting ready for a nervous breakdown. Thanks to the fact that I now have a doctor I can talk to openly, I know I am just a bit off balance and I need a little medicinal "kick stand" to right myself again. So, I didn't want to be ashamed or silent about my situation, I wanted to share my struggle, because there may be someone out there dealing with these same issues. I want you to know that you aren't alone, and that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength, and you are important and worthy of a healthy and happy life. Thank you for reading today, I truly appreciate your time. Margie Rigney is a happily married and blessed mother of three. She and her family have been residents of Georgetown for nearly eight years. 14. ^well, I agree it is repetitive, but it is both interesting and intertaining. ps. hopefully I will open ob gyn class thread sometime tomorrow or the day after if I get time. so check it out, you may like it.
  15. Every human-being is created perfect and pure as a child by Allah... Sinning or committing acts of sins is therefore not part of the human fitrah because Allah created all human beings in a state of natural purity as Allah already said in his noble and exalted book. If the above is true, then one wonders why do we need Islam? why do we need any intervention from Allah by sending us Prophets if he already perfected us? May be u mean that Allah is perfect, Angels perfect, and Islam was perfected by God. And those are true.
  16. Their criticism always centers on the Muslims (followers) themselves (FGM, honor killings, oppression of women, terrorism, ect ect ect) rather then the aqeedah (tawhiid, concept of God) of this religion! Now why is that so, I wonder? Just imagine yourself as a seller who wants to sell a good product. A prospect buyer who does not know how good your product is reads your ad and thinks it negatively. That first impression is important and could sink the sale of your good product. Those things you mentioned (honor killing, oppression of women, terrorism etc.) are damaging Islam far more than the one caused by non-muslims. ps. Ilaahay dariiqa saxa ah hayna waafajiyo, aamin.
  17. Gamal al-Banna argues that "there is no contradiction between total freedom of thought and religion" and that "Islam does not pretend to a monopoly of wisdom"... The saying often attributed to the prophet -"Whoever changes his religion must be executed" - is rejected as inauthentic by Imam Muslim, one of the earliest and most respected compilers of collections of hadith, but Imam al-Bukhari, another respected compiler, included it in his version. When Prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) was leading muslims, critical thinking was valued and encouraged. The Prophet encouraged muslims to educate themselves even if that means going to china which is a nonmuslim country. Now, the concept of personal responsibility and accountability have been hijacked by various groups to justify their agenda of creating violence and mistrust between communities. We all need to study Islam throughly and make up our own minds to which view we follow without being labeled and allow other people to do the same.
  18. ^you think it is a joke! This can affect you.loool
  19. cynical, your comment reminded me when Singapore asked its citizens to have a lot of babies. They saw it as a matter of national survival. The government even created 'trial places' for lovemaking and put programs on television teaching couples the best techniques for making babies. cambaro, macawis helps for cooling down the testicles, also avoiding tighter underwears is useful. puuja, yes, both males and females are prone to infertility. Those of you who are married and having trouble making a baby, kneeling down may be a better option than "man on top" position for sperms to get closer to cervix. Friend says it worked for him, but took awhile to convince wife.
  20. with all that wealth but unable to drive to the bank. hoping things will get better for them in the near future.
  21. cynical what do you think we can do from a female perspective? and do u think that females have anything to do with this? some of the female eggs are hard to target so sperms often miss them. You know how sperms feel embarrassed for asking directions.
  22. no skim milk for me, yes diet coke. Okay, I like my breakfast to have eggs (either omletes or boiled) plus pitta bread (100% wheat) and Lipton tea (black). That starts my engines humming for the day.
  23. By Maore Ithula Nairobi It is a different kind of bank. Depositors, who encounter absolutely no queues, are paid a flat rate of Sh3,000. It takes a couple of minutes to deposit - usually in millions - at the hospital within which it is located. The deposits are then kept in vaults much cooler than Siberia, safe from the hands of thieves, robbers and moths. For withdrawals, the bank matches your details to that of the donor, so you do not have to meet. Robbery is unheard of and interest high, especially for impotent men. Six years ago, conservative Kenyans held their breath when Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) introduced the first sperm bank in East and Central Africa. The openng of the facility, it was reported, had been triggered by 'increasing demand for human artificial insemination'. Women whose husbands had been found impotent, needed to be relieved of the pain and stress of childless marriages. Yet the incentives are not enough to break the stigma surrounding the collection of donations. "Virtually all donors present themselves to the clinic furtively," says Dr Joe Wanyoike, a senior lecturer at the University of Nairobi's Obstetrics and Gynaecology department and consultant at the unit. "They must be adults of at most 30 years of age and single," says the doctor who underwent special training in Israel and South Africa. The donors, he says, are usually students at the University of Nairobi's medical school and the neighbouring Medical Training College. "Although we request the students to come forward through memos placed strategically on noticeboards, they only present themselves during odd hours of the day when they are unlikely to be noticed by their colleagues, especially female students." A donor is allowed to give seeds only twice in a lifetime... http://allafrica.com/stories/200702260757.html Questions : what causes the count of sperms to go down? is there something we can do as men to stop this from happening? I think staying away from HOT baths is essential to avoid cooking the testicles. what about wearing not wearing briefs?
