  1. May Allah make the surgery of your father successful and may He give him good health. I advise you as his son to make duca for him also (as i'm sure you must be). The best times to make duca are: - While you are in prostration. - In the last third of the night when Allah comes down to the lowest heaven (in a manner which beffits His majesty) and says are which of my slaves will ask something of me. - Between the Adhan and iqaamah.
  2. Wa calaykum salaam wr wb akhi fil-Allah. And to you the same
  3. OG_Moti , jazaakum Allahu Khayran walaal , but the woman are as i mentioned except i left out Khadija . Rasulullah had also said: "The most excellent of the women of all worlds whom Allah chose over all women are: Asiya the wife of Pharaoh, Mary Next q: the daughter of Imran, Khadija the daughter of Khuwaylid, and Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad" (Sahiih- Sunan al-Tirmidhi,Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal) Also in a sahiih hadith it is reported that on the day Mecca was opened, the prophet s.a.w told Faatima that he would die soon and she cried, he then told her that she would be the "sayidatu nisaa' ahlul jannah" (the leader of the women of paradise). Mind you do not confuse this with the hadith that reports that when the prophet s.a.w was on his death bed that he would die and that she (faatima) would be the first amongt the ahlul-bayt to join him. Next q: Which Sahabi is the only one whos name is mentioned in the Qur'an?
  4. Aslaamu Calaykum Brothers and sisters, Xafsa, i believe they are: Asiya (wife of fircoon) Maryama (mother of nabi ciise) Faatima (prophets daughter, she will be the leader of the women of paradise) AND Some reportings add Aisha . Next q: Which sahabi did Allah order the blessed prophet s.a.w to read surah al-kaafiruun upon?
  5. MMA spot on! Mashallah, Sudais is just amazing, i have never heard of a better reciter of the Qur'an. I remember the first time i heard of his voice, subhanallah, i was so hooked from then onwards that until this day i listen to the shaykh to the point that i know how he recites particular surahs and because of listening to him i have memorised parts of the Qur'an i had never reached before. Allah bless him!! Other beautiful reciters include: Abdulwaduud Xaniif, Muhaisini, Abdulaziz Axmed and Xudayfa (of course )
  6. Asalaamu Calaykum Wr Wb, Brother Yacquub, i believe the sahaba you are reffering to is Ja'far ibn Abi Taalib . Next Question: Which Surah in the Qur'an has the name of Allah in every ayah?
  7. I would like to remind some us that have posted on this thread of a few verses in the book of Allah and some hadiths of our blessed prophet s.a.w: The Noble Qur'an 42:43 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. The Noble Qur'an 3:159 ”And by the Mercy of Allah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you;” And even if you see (although this time that was not the case) that they have erred, Allah in his infinite wisdom goes on to say: “So pass over (their faults), and ask (Allah's) Forgiveness for them; and consult them in the affair. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).” Hadith - Muslim & Bukhari "Allah is not kind to him who is not kind to people." Hadith - Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi "Those who are kind and considerate to Allah's creatures, Allah bestows His kindness and affection on them. Show kindness to the creatures on the earth so that Allah may be kind to you." Sister Lulla, Allah reward you sister. Through your post you may of have educated many amongst us that had no clue of the Islamic position on this issue. Also, don’t ever let anyone discourage you from asking sincere questions that you do not know the answers to. Furthermore, never take anything in this religion lightly for it was meant to have been taken lightly, the blessed prophet s.a.w would not have discussed it. Lastly, remember there are no such thing as male or female questions in Islam, you might end up marrying a perfectly good brother that has no clue on this issue, that wouldn’t make him any less of a good person, but alhamdullilah now you know. Take care ukhti fil Allah.
  8. I hope the following answers your question sister Question: ASSLAMU ALAIKUM. I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER CONDOMS CAN BE USED OR WHAT IS THE MEANS OF PREVENTING PREGNANCY. WHAT IS THE ADVISABLE MEANS ACCORDING TO ISLAM? Answer: Praise be to Allaah. It is permissible to use condoms so long as this does not cause any harm and so long as both husband and wife consent to their use, because this is similar to ‘azl (coitus interruptus or “withdrawal”). But it reduces the sensation of pleasure, which is the right of both partners, and reduces the chance of conception, which is also the right of both partners. Neither one of them is allowed to deprive the other of these rights. And Allaah is the course of strength. Islam Q&A Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid (www.islam-qa.com)
  9. Tamina, salaams sister After the essentials of Islam (as i prefer to refer to them as)- Quran, Bukhari, Muslim, Husnul-Muslim, Raxeeq al-Makhtum (Seerah), Arbaciin (40 Hadiths), The Ideal Muslimah & Kitaab-ut-tawheed (Muhammed ibn Abdulwahab)- my favourite book is: Rijaal Xawl ar-rasuul (Men Around The Messenger) by Khalid Muhammad Khalid. Mashallah i have never bought a better book, it is so inspiring and it actually makes you feel like you are there right in the midst of life with the Sahaba. I read it till today (after a few months of it being absent- all my friends just love it). For anyone that can actually get a copy of it, i urge you to get your hands on one. You won't regret it
  10. Mashallah Tabaraak Allah, jazaakum Allahu Khayran yaa ukhti Very beneficial post. Inshallah we should all express our love for Rasuallah through the adhering to of his message, Islam.
  11. Buubto, Good try walaal, but it was Sacad ibn Mucaad (RA) . Ilham as for your qs sister: What are the six aspects of Hyporcrisy in Belief? 1. To belie the Messenger (Muhammad) 2. To belie some or all that was brought by Rasuallah. 3. To hate the Messenger (Muhammad) 4. To hate some or all that was brought by Rasuallah. 5. To feel happy at the disgrace of, or setback for, the religion of Allah's Messenger. 6. To dislike that the religion of Allah's Messenger (Islamic Monotheism) becomes victorious (not being pleased at the victory of Islam). List 5 Major signs of Yawm-al-Qiyaamah.
  12. Who was the Sahabi (Companion of the prophet SAW) who was nicknamed Khadimu rassalulahi prophet's caretaker? Anas ibn Malik (RA). Who was the companion that: - Accepted Islam at the age of 31 and won martyrdom at the age of 37. - He was an Ansari from the tribe of Bani Al-Ashhal. - He was injured in the Battle of the Khandaq (Trench), his wounds became worse everyday until he was on the verge of death and the prophet came to him. The prophet made a duca for this companion “ O Allah, Our Lord, **** (companions name) has striven in the way of Allah. He believed in Your prophet and did his very best. So please do accept his soul with goodly acceptance”. - The prophet took a farewell look at the companion and said, “Rejoice, Abu ‘Amr.” Abu Said Al-Khudri (RA) said, “I was one of those who dug **** grave, and each time we dug out a layer of sand, we smelled musk. This went on until we reached his burial niche.” **** death was a tragic loss for the Muslims. Their only consolation was when they heard the prophet s.a.w say, “The throne of the Most beneficent shook when **** died.” ALLAHU AKBAR!!! Who was that great companion?
  13. Proud_Nomad_Fella, maybe it’s just a problem our brothers in Australia have. I realize it’s probably trivial to some people, however I don’t view any issue the prophet s.a.w has ever mentioned to be trivial. A Muslim I believe should always be well presented. Like I said it’s not the fashion issue but rather how you present yourself to the people. The blessed prophet s.a.w said, “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself”. With that been the case, I would never want that for myself and for that reason would never want it for any of my brothers. The white socks issue with black pants is just one example, I just don’t like it. No crime in that is there? To want our brothers to look decent and pleasant is not been westernised as you suggested but rather part of Islam. Read the following, it is an excerpt from a book titled “The Ideal Muslim” (which I recommend to every nomad here): The true Muslim takes good care of his clothes, so you will see him presenting a pleasant appearance, without being extravagant. He is pleasant to look at and to meet, and does not annoy people with his careless, dishevelled appearance. He always checks himself before he goes out to meet people, and he makes himself look good, in moderation, for the Prophet (S.A.W) used to make himself look good in front of his Companions, as well as in front of his family. Al-Qur'ethubi said: "Makhul reported from 'A'ishah: 'A group of the Companions of the Prophet (S.A.W) was waiting at the door for him, so he prepared to go out to meet them. There was a vessel of water in the house, and he peered into it, smoothing his beard and his hair. ('A'ishah said:) I asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, even you do this?" He said: "Yes, when a man goes out to meet his brothers, let him prepare himself properly, for Allah (S.W.T) is beautiful and loves beauty.'" He regarded dressing well and looking good as a demonstration of the blessings of Allah (S.W.T): "Allah (S.W.T) loves to see the signs of His gifts on His slave." Muslim reports from Ibn Mas'ud (R.A.A) that the Prophet (S.A.W) said: "No one who has even an atom's-weight of pride in his heart will enter Paradise." A man asked him, "What if he likes his clothes and shoes to look good?" (Meaning, is this counted as pride?) The Prophet (S.A.W) said: "Allah (S.W.T) is beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means denying the truth and looking down on other people." BTW, Welcome aboard
  14. In the appearance department its quiet short: - Ghastly breathe of course and BO. - Appalling dress sense, especially white socks with dark clothing, OH MY GOD  . I'm not saying dress in the latest fashion, but rather dress appropriate, appealing and most importantly colour coordinated. I could probably write a thesis in regards to turn offs with character, but three are of utmost importance and hence will mention in the hope my brothers will learn: - A man with no dreams might as well be dead in my books. Dreams to make a better living for himself, to make the world a better place and most importantly strive to reach that dream. - A man with no deen, who doesn’t know his creator and does not endeavour to know Him. - A man that disrespects women. I don't care if she is a dressed improperly, or behaves in a shameful manner or is even a prostitute. A man should never use foul language against a woman, or anybody for that matter.
  15. London is Cold, Rainy, Sad and i hope i never go there to live again. I lived there for a while (a few short months) as a child and was scared away forever, especially when it's compared to Australia Down under reminds me of back home (weather wise during the summer).
  16. Asalaamu Calaykum all, __________________________________________________ A Touching Story Imam Malik one day entered the Masjid after Asr. Towards the front of Masjid An-Nabawee he drew closer and sat down. Rasul Allah had commanded that anyone who enters the Masjid should not sit until he first prays 2 rakas as a salutation of the Masjid. Imam Malik was of the opinion however that Rasul Allah's forbiddance of praying after Asr took precedence and so he would teach his students to not pray the tahiyyatul Masjid if they entered between the Asr and Maghrib time. At that moment that Imam Malik sat down, a young boy had seen him sit without first praying the 2 raka's of Tahiyyatul Masjid. The young boy scorned him, "Get up and pray 2 rakas!" Imam Malik dutifully stood up once again and began praying the 2 rakas. The students sat stunned: What was going on? Had Imam Malik's opinion changed? After he had completed the salah, the students swarmed around and questioned his actions. Imam Malik said, "My opinion has not changed, nor have I gone back on what I taught you earlier. I merely feared that had I not prayed the 2 rakas as the young boy commanded, Allah may include me in the Ayah… "And when it is said to them, `Bow (in prayer)', they do not bow." - al mursalat 77/48. ALLAHU AKBAR, May Allah make us take heed of this ayah the way Imam Malik did. Ameen.
  17. Asalaamu Alaykum Warahmatulahi Wabarakaatuhuu, “The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to Allah (prays) can stand up to anything.” (A quote from an unknown person, but nevertheless the truth) Uthman bin Abi Dahrash said, "I never performed a prayer without invoking Allah afterwards to forgive me for falling into shortcomings in the way I performed it." [Tarikhu Baghdad 13/207] When Hatim al Asamm was asked about his prayer, he said, "When it is near the time of prayer, I perform a perfect Wudu and go to where I am going to pray and sit down there until I become fully attentive to what I am about to do. I then stand up and pray, imagining that the Ka`bah is in front of my eyes, Paradise to my right, Hellfire to my left and the Angel of Death behind me. I imagine that it is the last prayer I am about to perform, stand up in hope (in Allah, His Paradise and rewards) and fear (from Allah's torment in Hellfire) and recite the Takbir while having full attention. I recite the Qur'an calmly, make Ruku` humbly, go into Sujud with Khushu1 and then sit on my left leg, with the left food laid on the floor and the right food raised up, all the while praying with sincerity. Afterwards, I do not know (nor feel certain) if that prayer was accepted from me!" [Al Ihya 1/179] One of the Salaf said, "O son of Adam! You need your share in this life, but need your share in the Hereafter even more. If you took care of your share in this life, then you will lose your share in the Hereafter and are soon bound to lose your share in this life too. If you took care of your share in the Hereafter, you will also win your full share in this life with ease." [Fada'il adh Dhikr by ibn al Jawzi p. 19] Talq bin Habib said, "Allah's Rights are greater than the slave's capacity and ability to fulfil them. Therefore, reach the morning in a state of repentance and reach the night in a state of repentance." DUA: O Allah! I am asking you because to you belong all praise. There is none worthy of worship but you. You are one. There is no partner for you. The benefactor. O originator of the heavens and the earth! O the one who is full of majesty and honour! O the living! O the self-subsisting! I am asking you for Paradise and seek refuge from Hell. [silsilatul-ahadithus-sahihah]
