    Well we always ask the West to understand us! Thus is it appropriate to reverse the trend..in here please note it is not a call to alter belief but more of mutual co-existance.

    Do we Muslims understand the West? Are there important issues or questions which should be discussed for the success of such dialogues?

    This thread is mainly meant for a Muslim perspective on the dialogue with the West, and questions which you may wish to address.

    What do you think are the current main obstacles and what are the main pre-requisites for a successful dialogue from a Muslim perspective?

    Here you have someone who deep down believes that Galkacyo is not a city with 2 paved streets, it has no sand, and reer Galkacyood are baalashyaal in Benadir, Kismayo, and Nairobi .

    For carrying out loud you don't have to have good credentials to declare ur candidacy. And certainly you need 185 votes from afar jeeblayaal, warlord admirers, ex-ministers...if u wanna know why he should be elected ask them.

    proven track record on security will that include killing opponents, disregard for the mass killing of innocent people in the process of achieving to get the helm at Puntland. keeping in mind today that he also does not have total support of Puntland authorieties. Capturing forcefully Las/canod on the pretext of not being part of Puntland, but its inhabitants are that of his clan. Hence utterly ignoring the consequence it would bring to a peacefull region. But profing the point that he strives on conflict. He rules Puntland by force and the relative peace or security as you call is due to him being feared, ok fine if the Puntlanders want to have it that way good, but dont force feed it on the rest of the nation.

    Having said that, seriously speaking , I dont think he is the worst than any other warlords vyiung for the position, that is why I suppport that Amnesty International should first approve of the candidates then we will see who remains in the list...none. Go Galleydh Go..!

    First and foremost anyone who seeks to be a president in Somalia today will obviously be facing a tough task and should be prepared and know what is required of him/her. Above all the background of such a person should not be tainted and should be a person who has a conviction and commitment to the work ahead. Numerous peole have put their names in the hat and just by glancing at the names it makes one puke. One of them Abdullahi Yusuf whom is being presented here as a saviour and a great leader capable of leading Somalia ( God spare us the thought). Now in most cases when you are seeking a service of any kind you carry out a background check of the supplier and see if he has satisfied previous customers. Hence if the Somali citizen had the oppurtunity of doing just that before selecting any of the candidates for the job, am sure that they will not only be discarded but banned from even participating, but alas such chance is absent.

    Now for those of you who is masquerading Colonel Abdullahi Yusuf here please show a lil respect for our knowledge of him.

    This man became a savior of his supressed clan first, then the mastermind behind an entire state called Puntland and now he'll be most likely the president of the Democratic Republic of Somalia Insha Allah. He sure as hell got my vote.

    As far as your vote is concerned you can go and vote for Papa Doc for all I care but please stop this sham definition of a warlord. May be you could answer this C/llahi Yusuf is responsible for the dead of while he was head of SSDF (1) Caydiidki Dhulbante, (2) His own brother in law 'Ina cirid-yambo',that is only top known figures there are countless other murders attitributed to him. He simply eradicated those whom he deemed are a threat to his helm and supporters. Recently in Galkacyo he was responsible for the barbaric killing of 'Ugaaska Moxamud Cumar', and ironically of the killing of his own cousin Bixii.

    Leave all that, he organised an armed and blood shed coup against the preseident of the Puntland Regional Government, Jama Ali Jama, which resulted to the killing of many innocent civilians. he has banned all religion organisations in Puntland on the pretext of US fight against Al-Qaeda and ordered the arrest and handing over of nominal Sheikhs to Ethiopia in the fight against terrorism. The man strives on conflict and manupilative control.

    For heavens sake 'beenta ka xishowda'.

    ^^^ I second that nomination, but on purely different reasons. First it is as described cerimonial thus his organisation or leadership will not be required..which will spare us from his controversial ideas.

    Prime Minister = DA : for her no nonsense approach and opinionated mind, and also firm to her stance. Since the position requires a strong charecter then I suugest this unwavering lady.

    Speaker of The House = Ngonge not only wil he silence the talkative MP's but himself also.. :D

    Very good Rainbow, and I wish them the best also in at least achieving a medal..and as you the flag bearer should have been at least someone famous such as ABdi Bile, as he has done in several previous Olympics. Note we have yet to win a medal in the Olympics, Bile only won two World Championships.

    Never the less it was heart warming to see the Blue flag among the Flags of nations in Athens tonite. smile.gif

They are only like cattle nay they are even further astray from the Path 25:43...hence it is your interpretation of Sura Al-Furqan verse 25....However having re-read the English interpretation of that verse it goes like this Or deemest thou that most of them hear or understand? They are but as the cattle, nay, but they are farther astray!

    Mis-interpretation of the Holly Quran and trying to be the judge and jury in matters concerning it is best described as being astray.
