Why does it have to be one way or the other. why can't we be educated and also become housewives if we so choose to. How come no body mentioned that education gives women choices, it gives them the choices to have the kind of lives they want with out having to depend on others. it not only 4 women, we all need to get as much education as possible to give ourselves and our children the best possible lives that we can. 4 women, God forbid, that something happened to ur husband (the person u r going to have to depend on to take care of u...if u r not educated), who are u going to depend on ur relatives or possibly get a minimum wage job....all the work and none of the benefits...I don't thing so...I personally think that education or knowledge is a weapon against poverty and ignorance...and believe me, i am going to arm myself. in this world we need all the ammunition that we need...so women...don't become defenseless...get educated... Ps...Its true that education isn't sometimes all that its cracked up to be....but nothing worth while is ever that easy. And true...some people might not view a college education that necessary to have a great life but it makes life generally much easier...

I think it defeats the purpose of being modest...its looks loud. u can hardly accessorize with it being so shinny and animal printy and it would clash with the scarf on the head...like something out Arabian nightmare or dance of the 7 veils...or something....elegant and understated is more my way... this is more like it...

There different ways to cook and then there is the Somali way of cooking...which consists of pretty much putting rice, meat, and pasta on a plate no presentation needed…maybe they add a banana or lemon on top. And there is the other way...i am not dissing on the Somali way...its easy, no fuss no muss...but there is no art, or drama to it. i think if u r going to cook, u always need to make it look pretty...even something as simple as a sandwich...add something to it like a olive on the pick to make it more than two pieces of bread with stuff in it...if its salad add tomatoes, green, yellow and red peppers...or even cereal add fruits...for me the presentation shows the consideration and care the food was prepared with...and but lets not forget regardless of how pretty it is...if the food isn't YUMMY its doesn't count how PRETTY it is… ...besides going out is loud and tedious...when i have time...WHICH IS NEVER... i don't want to waste it outside...stay in with yummy food and yummy person....

I would assume that if u r not married u would not worry about condoms period....as sex isn't allowed with or with out a condom prior to marriage. As a family member who has been in this country longer than they have, u should have taken the initiative to help them get settled. U should have showed them other creative outlets or other ways to have fun, advised them or just plain explained to them the options that they have. Not let them lose in a strange world. Of course, if u don't help them, they are going to get help from elsewhere. And sometimes from people who r going to lead them the wrong way. If they are caught up in bad situations ...u have no one to blame but urself. Instead of helping…what do u do? U come here complaining, and talking behind their backs and calling them names. I have never seen such irresponsibility, if u r not going to help them, leave them alone. God save me from gossiping and closed minded Faraxs... :rolleyes:
