  1. oh and not to mention the racisism is pretty friggin blatant in Saskatoon becuase a lot of the time you are the token black person....
  2. I recent bought a portable DVD player and two LCD screens that I wired and put into a frame to make a pair of glasses out of. So my LCD screen glasses and friend bought me a hello kitty dildo.... which I think is pretty hilarious ( talk about infantilizating sexuality)
  3. The Ponit : lol! Haneefa: Okay so a couple of years back I was in Saskatoon. I grew up in Toronto so Saskatoon to me was like a place where you go to die. Downtown Saskatoon is one street that if you are a fast walker have pretty much seen in ten minutes. The houses each have a fair distance of land between them, so forget walking anywhere unless you want to get there 2-3 hours or unless you like running. Not to mention the road ends in a lot of neighborhoods so you are walking on a dirt road a lot of the time or grass. Almost everyone I met there was religiously into BBQ and country music. And half the people I met either had really ugly accents that grated my nerves or had such a twang in their accent they sounded like they were singing a heartfelt country song when they spoke. There is not such thing as private insurance in Saskatchewan for cars it's through the province come to think of it all insurance is through the province. There are a few people of colour in Saskattoon but not much, mosty Aborignals ... I think there is a small community of Somalis in Regina though. And the winters .... oh my ! even the spring they get severe weather Because there are not mountains or lakes to regulate moderate temperatures. The winter weather are like - 29 degrees celsius with a windshield of -20 ....it can get to -60 celsius in the coldest. The summers are visted with occasional droughts. But there is one good thing. A lot of Canada's organic farming is done in Saskatchewan.
  4. I had detention every day in grade six and would run home after detention to not miss Batman
  5. I had a nar death experience a couple of years back....... was in Saskatchewan for a week
  6. that's very sad, but think of the hundreds of fire fighters that die years after they retire from complications in their line of work. Although a heroic profession; being a fire fighter is like agreeing to die very soon in your life to help other people. Seriuosly all of the fire they have encounters with is the equivalent of smoking 5 packs of ciggarettes a day and not by choice either.
  7. are you from South Carolina? *hmmmmm I had a felling*
  8. When was the last time you updated yours? I'm updating my C.V now Any stretches of the truth? no not really Ever looked back at the job description of the job you're currently at? Was/is it accurate? I'd say so Is all of it one big game of deceit? not to me... I mean I really did direct a multi media opera on the moon in the early 1920s.... I'm doing(avoiding) mine right now. Hence the topic. Good luck

  13. I don't know if it's my end of the week slowness but I thought intermediate would be a question of someone's skill. and it was an unfinished question like: "are Somalis intermediate yoga freaks, or stunt skiers?" you know what just forget it!
  14. I had this amazing dream last night. I can't remember all of it but I do remember Feist's Mushaboom was playing throughout the dream as a soundtrack. I woke up this morning incredibly at peace( I usaully wake with a jolt) and singing mushaboom.

  16. oh my gawd I cannot belive I forget my fave movies of Best in show, Edward Scissorhands, and Man back then Johnny Dep was kind of a more a gritty inide actor. I also forgot Portishead and Moby for music. okay EXPRESSIONS: gag me with a spoon take a chill pill keep it on the down low Sike Dude (I refuse to not stop using this expression until I am 93) cool stellar stoked oh! my gawd! or ohmigod!! whatever as if like (the usage became more prevalent) chill out no way helllo! duh! nevermind ( all in one jumble) that is sooo fully TIMES: It really was the end of an era and the 90's kinda started and ended outside the 90s. This new ear this change that took place started between 11/9/1989 and 9/11/2001. November 9th was the fall of the Berlin wall. When the Berlin wall fell communism started to fall in huge communist powers like the former USSR. The first Gulf war happened in 1991. Thus there was this feeling of impending doom on the youth ( The Gen Xers) and this mish mash of political unrest and a huige recession. Gen Xers needed a darker music that was more serious, instead of the hair metal from the decade beofre. Enter Nirvana and the Seattle Grundge Scene. It was just the right amount of hopelessness and desperation that captured the essence of the early 90s.

  19. I went to this two day conference called Ignite on youth and the arts. And there was a lot of painful sitting thorugh people that need a reality check followed byu people that were so engaging and empowering. There was this young man all I remember was his last name was Mohamed (talk about selective eh) and he was undoubtedly the best spoken word artist I have ever heard.

  21. Okay so I am doing this detox thing for a bout a couple of weeks. I am into week one. So I haven't eaten any food since the last week of may. I don't get hungary strangely enough (that stopped on the third day).... but I have noticed my sense of smell is super heightened. I took a walk today and was assaulted by the amount of different smells I would walk into or past. And how the mingled and mixed into lethal combinations that were like a sledgehammer of scent to my nose. It was too much! Okay so while I was taking this walk. This old lady said to me "you look so beautiful, and soo summery with your lovely dress" and I was beaming from the compliment so after I thanked her I started to walk away and she said "and you've even got a nice even tan" Needless to say I have been laughing all day. I don't think it ever occured to her I might be black cause I'm in northern Canada ( like beyond the tree line) and there just ain't no black folks here.
  22. Ilaahay ha u naxarissto what more is there to say?
  23. I think it comes form the perception of the female as a seductress why women blame other women for shortfallings of their husbands. I guess it's also easier to blame someone who passed through your relationship violently than someone you are more or less stuck with.
