  1. Of course it's a personal choice. Being a racist is a personal choice. Being a rapist is a personal choice. There are lots of personal choices in life; it still does not mean they're right. You're not rejecting him because he's incompetent. You're not rejecting him because you think he's a pervert. You're not rejecting him because he charges too much. You're rejecting him because (like you) he's a Somali! Your logic there beggars belief, my dear.
  2. ^^^ Like Memri you mean? Ibti means well but she's still at that (dreary) stage of futile anger. It's all or nothing for her. ps The Arabs (those with some semblance of a brain at least) have wised up to the idea of lobbying and are in the process of using the strongest form available. Why else do you think they're starting to gobble up all these powerful western institutions! In fact, with the recent American credit crunch and the problems it caused to several high profile banks, it was the large Arab institutions that bailed them out and loaned them billions of dollars or bought huge (sometimes controlling) shares in them. Sooner or later, these newly acquired muscles in the global financial world will start to pay dividend (and I'm not talking monetary dividend either).
  3. ^^ You're both wet behind the ears and very fussy. He's a man doing a job like anyone else and it's quite sad that you think about it in such a way. Sad I tell ya, sad.
  4. Here is to hoping that this thread is simply a means to an end, saaxib. Something to soften the blow, as it were. I reserve my judgment until someone comes up with the immortal line: 'your mother is a woman, your sister is a woman, etc, etc'.
  5. ^^ I told you she's wet behind the ears.
  6. Ibtisam, If that General was on a plane that landed in Egypt, Saudi Arabia or even Iran I really doubt he would have been arrested. Contrary to what JB says, the Israelis do not control everything but they do have very strong political lobbyists. You're in idealist with all your sweet talk about 'tomorrow's mistakes', etc.. Do you want to challenge, compete and upstage the Israeli lobby? Get real and ditch your principles. That's politics, my dear. Ps Straw and his like can only do what is possible under existing circumstances and within established political conditions.
  7. ^^ Number four was more than enough. Cara, It is almost five now and I don't need to wind you girls up anymore. ** Ducks out of thread **
  8. ^^ Stop spreading this rumour about me not being passionate about things. There is passionate and there is frothing at the mouth mental. People sometimes confuse the two. I don't. I agree. I doubt there will be any compatible men for these ladies at said event. Our ladies are still wet behind the ears and image conscious.
  9. Originally posted by Ibtisam: And I though only that women were manipulative, check out Ngonge manipulating our words left and right. You're an insult to womenfolk. I am not going to play along, sexist. Cara, at least you admit it. Good on you.
  10. I did and I'm seeing lots of belittling and ridicule. You ladies are above these desperate measures such as Speed Dating and what not. You're making sure the whole world knows about it. Ah, for shame!
  11. That's not what your wrods say, ladies. Read what you wrote again Cara and stop being stubborn. You're cowards, the lot of you. You would love to go but are scared of what people might think. Shame really. Shame.
  12. ^^ YES. Ibti, No you're not brave. If you were, you would at least admit that you were belittling the event, Miss Commodities!
  13. I am only trying to show you how daft your arguments are. If you said you don't feel like going because it is not your cup of tea, I'd understand. But you, Serenity and Ibtisam are trying to belittle the event in order to justify your reasons for not wanting to go. Cara's sarcasm is even worse (then again, she could be innocent and really believes a wadaad would be sitting next to her and monitor every word she says). Don't take it to heart but there is not one little brave girl amongst you all.
  14. Originally posted by Ibtisam: ^^^What the hell!!! dude maaxa business keeka kuu oogisiyeh??? lol. I'll go when I hit 30 and looking for a new husband, hopefully those events will be the norm by then, and perfectly working rather than first such event. No they will not. Not if everyone thinks about them in the way you, CL and Serenity do.
  15. ^^ I was being serious though. You're single and free. Don't be a bore. You should gather a group of your girls and treat it as a night out. You may be pleasantly surprised by the calibre of applicants. Besides, it is not as if you're obliged to leave the place on a promise. At worst, you can treat it as window-shopping and at best, it may turn out to be the best day of your life.
  16. ^^ I would if I was really looking for a second wife.
  17. Originally posted by -Serenity-: The only problem I can foresee with this event is the crowd. I'm sure there will be plenty of good sisters, but I very much doubt there will be guys of the 'right' mix (Financially and emotionally mature and responsible). They will either be too young, too old or too, erm, how should I put this last category - not forward or worldly thinking enough. Well, thats my impression of most of the guy I come across. Why speculate when you can go and check it out for yourself? What have you got to lose? Your 'image'? Surely you're above such nonesense.
  18. Honestly! You Somali girls are just all talk. When someone mentions marriage to you, you all go on about how many faraxs are there in the world. You complain that they're backward and typically 'Somali'! Yet, when someone comes up with such a different idea as Speed Dating, you all retreat into your Somali shells and pick faults with it. Frigid the lot of you. Wax esko fala.
  19. ^^ You have an objection, m'lady? WHAT?
  20. ^^ Oooh! Was that his real name? Well, bully to all those that claim he's not Somali says I. But I take your point about the name. It should not have been posted on here. Still, I disagree with the bit about his opinions being separate from those of the QMSS. I believe those questioning him have a valid point there. Ps Don't fret, I reckon Marcus is enjoying all this attention and is hardly offended by any of it.
  21. Ibtisam, You should go, dear. If not to fish yourself a suitable boy then at least do it to shore up the numbers of decent participants. In fact, I reckon all the single SOL Londoners should go. It is not guaranteed that you will find a partner but one must encourage such events. ps Val is becoming braver by the day.
  22. Serenity, Though it's true that people are picking on him the majority of it is fully justified. He's asking for it with the way he structures his posts and the ideas he's trying to pass on. Marcus really has to either be serious and a man of issues/goals or just stick to being your average sensationalist fire starter. The problem here is that he wants to be both. It is just not cricket, Serenity. ps Ibtisam is always out of order. Nothing new there. pps You do fancy the pants of him. Edit: One last point. I blame FF for this thread. It's all her fault, the sadistic voyeur..
  23. ^^ I reckon Arsenal will win that game.
