Somalia war 'not jihad,' concludes Islamic conference in Puntland
NGONGE replied to xiinfaniin's topic in Politics
Originally posted by xiinfaniin: NGONGE is spinning his wheels and comes across as a man who does not know what he is talking about. We posted an article that commented on the Garoowe communiqué and the scholars who issued it. No one pilled the conference as a gathering to hash out strategies to mediate between Somalia’s warring factions. It was what it was: Somalia’s prominent scholars reiterating their old stance with a new vigor. These scholars as many here already know tried to mediate, and their efforts failed because of Alshabaab’s rejection. Alshabaab refused to recognize Sharif’s effort to stabilize the country, and transition from the current state. When Sharif agreed a three-month timeframe for AMISOM to withdraw, alshabaab showed no commitment to cooperate with Sharif. When he agreed to declare that TFG would comply with Shariicah principles and try to enforce it where possible, Alshabaab mocked. That scholars publicly voiced Alshabaab excess is a victory for common sense. It removes the ambiguity their silence created. It gives the masses a clear direction as to where Somalia’s religious authorities are on the current conflict. There is no flip-flopping in what these scholars did. It’s what men who are more concern with the wellbeing of the Ummah do and did throughout the centuries. Wan kula murmaya lakin waxan ka baqaya in aad script igo sheegtid! Ok, lets deal with one point at a time. First off, my entry into this thread. Xiin, you can read can't you? I want you go back and read my first reply on this thread and tell me who it was for and what you understood by it (there is the added bonus of Norf actually agreeing with the conference). Secondly, the murky issue of he said, she said; You are adamant that Sh. Sharif has done all that is in his power to start negotations with Al Shabab but Karl there is rubbishing all your claims and showing you (point by point) how things unfolded. Do you dispute his argument? I don't. Still, even if you do dispute them, unless you come out and prove they are outright lies, we will still be stuck on the he said, she said cul-de-sac. Now the scholars and their statement. What did they say that is different or new? I'll tell you: Our esteemed scholars have flip-flopped and allowed themselves to be used by sneaky Faroole/Sh. Sharif. I mean what was their aim in this conference? To clarify matters? For whom and to what end? You will probably say "to the general public". Now don't shake your head at me, Xaaji. Follow my logic (since you've lost yours). Are these scholars neutral and do they aim for the overall good of the Somali people? Again, I suspect your reply here will be a resounding YES. Fine. Would a neutral scholar take part in a conference in Garowe (Hargeisa or Dubai)? If he does (and they did), how would he brush off the attacks of Al Shabab as being a hired scholar? Warya. War hoy. Stop yourself right there and don't give me any cheap dismissals. You know that Al Shabab will resort to that line of attack and you know that we will still have the same old stalemate. What next? What then would you say this conference has achieved? Now here is what I think: The conference has achieved nothing much. The pronouncements of the scholars may turn a few heads in the short term but as soon as the AMISOM guns bombard the Bakara market again and kill a substantial number of Somalis (again), all will be forgotten and many will turn around and wonder if Al Shabab are the right group to follow after all. On the other hand, when Al Shabab stone someone, dig a grave or announce that they're going to invade Venezuela; people will chuckle and question the wisdom of this seemingly mad group. It is a seesaw, Xiin. Snakes and ladders, adeer. Swings and roun****uts, ya tacbaan. It does not apply to you because you have never been a supporter of Al Shabab and do not need any spin or propaganda in order to be convinced (it is, incidentally, something that you have in common with Kashafa & Nur). For most others, there is a lot of convincing to be done and, in all honesty, I do not think this conference has managed it. Warya Hunguri, waligeen Xiin bad raaci jirteen, waligee jar buu idin ka ridi jiray. Kaa ka hadh, ninyaho. -

^^ There was a condition and it involved AMISOM leaving. The quote you gave is good but it adds nothing new, saaxib. There is no new revelation here. It is what we have heard and saw from the TFG and Al Shabab. Look, let us be honest here. The whole point of this conference is to win the hearts and minds of the people and move them away from Al Shabab. The fatwa of these scholars simply presents another option. Now I say that regardless of the option or how many people choose to forsake Al Shabab as a result of this fatwa, the war will remain and the dispute will continue until the two sides sit together and talk (Xiin used to believe that but seems to have learned the art of flipflopping now). -

Originally posted by Hunguri: NG, saaxiib alright. I will stop sheekkada caantaynka ah . I fundemantally agree with you. Laakiin, just answer my question.. When did you join the argagixiso ?? I did not, saaxib. I do not agree with Al Shabab's way of doing thing and actually agree with what the scholars say. Lakin taa waa laga tegay. Hada the job of these scholars (since they decided to join) is one of two: 1- Go to Al Shabab and talk to them directly (without appearing to be siding with Faroole, Riyaale or TFG). 2- Declare outright war on Al Shabab. They did not do either of the two. They took a bit from each group and suggested a future conference that will talk about the issue. Futurka ya ino hubba? -

Originally posted by Gheelle.T: They have rejected the idea of sitting with "dowlad Riddah" to begin with let alone laying down any conditions. You didn't even read what the communique says and you were out loud criticizing it? Waadhyaa dee kiis iska waalka naga daa dee. I read it. It said nothing new, saaxib. It was a limp wristed conclusion to a meeting that was not even aimed at Al Shabab. I said so to Xiin before Hunguri lost his rag. Now lets get back to Al Shabab and 'dowlaht al riddah'. Did Al Shabab totally refuse to talk to the TFG or did they put conditions on those talks? What were those conditions? But, but, but, didn't the scholars in Garowe also condemn the presence of African troops? War ma ana waalan mise Hunguri bad bac ku xidheen? -

Originally posted by Gheelle.T: War Al-shabaab si cad u diideen wax dhex dhexaadin ah, maxaad isla yeel yeeshaa NG? You know where they stand on almost all of Somalia's current issues. They will keep waging wars till their last man standing. All they (scholars) did were to disagree with them and reject AS plans for Somalia. Why is that wrong on your part? Si cad? Ok. When did this happen? Was it during Sh. Sharif's lip service pronouncements? Under what conditions did Al Shabab refuse? Did the 'in-betweeners' go back with more? Fine. What did the scholars communique say now? Did they clearly call for a war against Al Shabab? Wax sheega dee. -

Hunguri, Adeer dagdaga badan kugo man aqoon. Maxa dhacay? The articles talking about this meeting mentioned that some of the scholars were from SL, saaxib. Marka naga daa mala yacnigaan ku leh 'if they were from your part and not part', saaxib. Teeda kale, if that was the case, ano waxaan ku odhan laha 'maxaa iga galay what reer Garowe, TFG iyo Al Shabab get up to, it's their business'. Now lets get serious. Xiin has been going on for months about peace and how the only way forward is if the two sides sit and talk. How will the two sids sit and talk if there is no middle ground? Aha! But we have a load of scholars willing to talk about the issue and how the fight in Somalia is not Jihad! Dee ma Hunguri ba loo sheegaya? Al Shabab may o tagan oo o sheegan. P.S. You know I respect you and would believe 99% of what you say lakin iga daa sheekada 'waxa la yidhi', saaxib. Garowe waxa joogay tens of scholars. If Sheikh Bashir could not convince Al Shabab where were the others? Why is this not open? Why do we not hear about it? Saaxib, even the ICU met the TFG in Sudan. Did Garowe invite any Shababis to this meeting? Adeer xaq ku hadal oo wiswiska jooji. -

^^ They're 'important' in spreading a different message, they do nothing towards fixing the dispute itself. -
^^ Did you not see it discuss the cuud and jaawi? Don't compare us to Arsenal fans, saaxib.

^^ It will be exciting if it finishes that way. 68 points for everyone, goal difference wins it. Foox ma ku hadhay, saaxib?
-
Juxa, Seems like you have a traitor in your ranks. Is dil (ama iyada dil).
-
nuune, If Spurs lose to Bolton, draw with City and beat Burnely they'll have 68 points. If Villa draw with City and beat Blackburn, they'll have 68 points. If City draw with Spurs and Villa and beat West Ham they'll have 68 points. If Liverpool beat Chelsea and Hull they'll have 68 points. Goal difference, baby. Bolton is such a lovely city.
-
Burnley beat United, saaxib. This has been a season where you don't look down on anyone. Stoke had the least away losses in the league all season and their keeper was only behind Reina in the number of clean sheets. They let in seven last night.
-
^^ You know he wants to beat Chelsea and will do all he can to win. Did you see Aquillani yesterday? Had a great game.
-
I wonder who Nur thinks Universal TV is owned by!
-
^^ The final is on the 12th of May. Rafa would need to rest some after this Thursday but he wont. Chelsea is on Sunday.
-
^^ You get on my nerves when you're sober, saaxib. Why in the world would I sit with you when you're using performance enhancing drugs?
-
^^ Must have been a tiring weekend. You're talking rubbish again, adeer.
-
^^ Sick but creative, you slacker.

Oi sexist, if women rule Somalia the numbers of dead people will double within hours. 1st Lady of SL will kill an imprison hundreds of people just becuase they dared to admire the dirac that the 1st lady of PL was wearing. In turn, the 1st Lady of PL will send troops to the Galkacayo border to fight off with the 1st Lady of Al Shabab's troops because the latter called her 'naag qaawan'. Meanwhile, the TFG 1st lady will be somewhere up in the sky complaining about these other ladies and getting in touch with her African troops to quell the disturbances caused by the supporters of PL and Al Shabab. She'll make a a speech appealing to the men to help resuce Somalia. Naga daaaaaa.
-
^^ She's sexist and I'm going to throw my living cushion at her the next time I see her.
-
^^ Typical woman. Now she's looking for marqaati.
-
^^ There is no love lost between Liverpool and Chelsea. Chelsea will have to earn their title. P.S. Fourth place is not over now that Villa are in the race and play both the other teams. I am hoping for a Bolton surprise and draws all around.
