  1. ^^ Me, militant? I'm practical, dear. I go with what works and SL, most certainly, works.
  2. Sharif Mahdi's prayers seem to have worked. When was the last time A&T was here?
  3. Just go back. It took me ages to make it there (even though it's normally a short journey on the tube). The Jubilee line was suspended because of a "person under a train"! I will not lie and say that the thought of an Al Shabab plot had not crossed my mind (). As I was going out the station, an SL older lady who was draped in the St George flag (does she know the meaning I wonder) beckoned me and shouted "Waa xaagaa, dhinacaa o soco, walaal". Once outside, I found myself walking amongst the dozens of tourists that populate that area at this time of year. Still, within seconds of walking amongst them the tempting lilts of the Burcaawi tongue started wafting their way into my ears. To my left, there were at least ten young fillies walking and chattering excitedly; to my right another ten were arguing about the correct direction. As I stood at the traffic lights waiting to cross the road to the other side, I could still hear the conversation behind me. It reminded me of the two niqaabi girls in H town who once stood behind me and were egging each other to ask me for a dollar for the bus fair home (could it be that they made it to London now? Viva tahreeb). This group did not bother asking for directions, they just followed me around (even though, between me and you, I really didn't know the correct way). Suddenly, a stationary bus moved and my vision was filled with an endless number of fluttering SL flags, then the sounds of happy songs started to fill the air around me. For an unrepeatable split second the entire world seemed to be SOMALILAND. I casually strolled towards the crowd and started looking around for any recognisable faces. There was nobody that I personally knew there but all the faces were very familiar. Still, if I didn't spot any loved ones, friends or even passing acquaintances, what would be the point of supporting this rally for Somaliland? One must belong and it's a bit much to ask someone to belong when he does not know any of those others claiming to belong too! Someone tried to pass me an SL flag but I shook my head and walked away from him with my hands firmly dug into my pockets. I carried on scanning the immediate vicinity. There were lots of girls, lots of very pretty girls. If I was not sure about belonging to the country itself I was more than sure that I belonged in THIS pretty crowd. Of course, all those boyish thoughts vanished the minute I spotted one of my mother's friends (yes, I go all the way to take part and the first person I spot is my bloody mummy's friend! I had to behave now, dammit). After ten minutes of standing around and listening to the "chicken noise" that most large Somali crowds make, I decided that it's time for me to go back to work. Just as I was attempting to fight me way out of the incoming crowd, an old white man who was wearing the SL flag hobbled towards me and asked me if I were from Mogadishu! “No, I’m from Addis” I replied. On my way back to the station, I met dozens of others making their way to the gathering (I was only there for ten minutes to be honest). As luck would have it, every last person I met was someone I knew and, as is usual, they all kept asking me why was I going the “wrong way”. “Shaqo, shaqo” I replied as I kept on hurrying away from them. All in all, the whole thing looked impressive and peaceful. Cirka..cirka..
  4. This does it. Jacaylabaro's camel is not more "wadani" than me. I'm going now (with my brolly) I'll report back in a couple of hours.
  5. As things stand and until proven otherwise, I fully accept that this photo is genuine. However, on a day when SL is celebrating twenty years of secession this is neither here nor there. A simple change of policy for this new government.
  6. The one in London starts at 12. My lunch break also starts at 12. I'm in two minds about going (even though it's not too far from where I am). From what I hear, it promises to be a huge one and I'm tempted to go and see what it's all about. Talow ma iska jooga?
  7. (women are evil, Nin Yaaban, women are evil).
  8. Some of these SL "journalists" are full of it.
  9. ^^ Heh@the old seamen. I remember one who was called "Gosh". I used to think it was some sort of Somali word until another seaman enlightened me and told me that it was an English word. Gosh indeed.
  10. Faheema, When you lack sleep does it also come with a very short temper?

  12. ^^ I love the patriotism of the SSC crowd. The 18th of May is a day of celebration and the first thing to do on celebration days is to make sure that everywhere is clean. Hurguf away, my people.
  13. Zack, before the advent of greater Azania you too were barking, saaxib. Why suddenly turn on your old comrades warya?
  14. This guy plays his 1000th career game tonight! LEGEND.

Waa magaaladiisii. Alpha is still an imposter Only to recieve my papers as the safeer of Peru, saaxib. As for living there, I noticed a recent trend where quite a few people have been going back to settle there (not my thing really).
  16. ^^ War yarka inoo daaya, farxada Hargeisa ayaa wali haysaa. Ibti, no dumaashi of mine is allowed to meat Alpha and should he ever be delivered to you in cotton wool please make sure you make good use of that cotton before you dispose of the body.
  17. Hello Ibti, glad to see you've avoided the snakes of SL (no, not Alpha or Jb, I mean real snakes). Heh@LOZ..next season is going to be real hard for all.
  18. LOZ I was expecting to see you back NEXT season. Salaam all.
  19. Already, we've been taken over by an influx of bad cultured, so called ''deqan celis',' westerners. I'm proud of you, son. A couple of years ago you used to make youtube clips boasting about your "Englishness", look at you now?
  20. A_Khadar;718107 wrote: You still didn't answer my question. Regardless what he said, it's internal conflict within SSC leadership and that won't change a thing on the ground. SSC is your nightmare regarless of its internal issues. But can you tell us me where about your mighty qaran/clan militia? War ninyaho aniga maad wax iga maqashid dee. Weren't these cracks what I was telling you about in my SSC thread? The bottom line here is that SSC should be having no types of internal conflicts. Such conflicts are what will allow SL to take advantage, saaxib. Such conflicts come about because there is no master plan here. War taladaydii qaado and convince your warring uncles to turn their energy into getting themselves a larger piece of the SL pie (this, in no way is meant in a sheeko ceyaal way or even a boast. It is genuine advice, saaxib).
  21. Reminds me of Somali music! The singers keep changing but the song is always the same. War even Xiin has been singing.
  22. ^^ I am not you, saaxib. I can only support one team. With every other game it's all about who I hate the least.
