  1. ^^ It does not matter that the story is working or not. The point is that SL is getting the exposure it craves. On a serious note, this article has its own agenda and SL is merely a viechle to advance that agenda (i.e. the Mail's opposition to International Aid).
  2. Hunguri ayaa waxan qoray. A&T ayaa ii sheegay.

This is why I mentioned it to Blessed, maybe she can go to her local public library and scan the important parts for us. (But the book exists and the letter is part of it). p.s. Carraghar is going nowhere.
  4. ^^ I gave you the name of the book. Go find it ninyaho and bootada iga daa.

Grasshopper, where did you live? Something to do with the Hindu faith and all that Karma stuff. Ghandijii springs to mind.
  6. It's a one bedroom flat. Mostly, single people live in one bedroom flats and I can't imagine any single person swapping the delights of London with dull old Boringham. p.s. Had you written that advert in Dutch you probably would have found lots of takers.
  7. Does that mean that Faroole is having talks with Al Shabab or was it Somaliland?

Laakin, if the need arises 'dawlada sare' ayaa loo mari karaa, waa bilaa abtirsi . Wax fahan. Anyway, SL waa sheeko dheer. My sights are set on ADEC now, bal waasta ii soo hel, yaa Emirati.. As for ancestory debate. Sheikh Abdullah Hakim Quick has done some interesting research on Islam in the Horn and while he does not address this issue directly, he describes the manner in which Islamic society was organised at the time. I found it fascinating as each area had their own lead sheikh - I could see how that eventually became reer sheikh fulan but Allahu yaclam. Whatever the case, Somali have benefited from the Arab link. Particularly, in the Khaleej. Actually, since we're talking about ancestory, history and the UAE. There is a book written by the ruler of Sharjah about a letter the Somali leaders of 1837 sent to his great grandfather (he prints a copy of the letter). In it, they ask to become part of his kingdom and call him by the title "Ameer Al Mo'meneen".

Waar dee soo gal murankan, mise kuwa Sheikha wax ku darsada ma ku jirtid? lol They talk about his history and travel to Somalia, etc. They quote other books and historians, etc. There is also a Somali guy who wrote a book in 1955 and talked about all the Somali clans and their origins (using Arab sources again). It seems to me that the argument about Somalis having Arab origins is one that came from the Arab themselves. However, without proper research, I can not say if it's true or not. Having said that (and because of Q.I.E) I can't do a Che and question the water tight argument of Somalis about the origins of all their ancestors.
  11. ^^ Arab scholars cite their own sources on the history of the disputed sheikh.
  12. Xaaji X, I don't like the way you distance our Nassir and try to force him and his minister into this TFG nonsense.
  13. A new reconciliation conference will mean nothing without Kashaafa. Bring it.
  14. ^^ Are you asking me or Alpha? Edit: Waryaa Jb, hadaan ku fahmay. War libaax hurda lama kiciyo, badow yaho.
  15. ^^ My ayeeyo is a great woman who has that special womanly ability of selective 'dhaga tir'. Hadaanay marka hore maqlin adigu uun ha maqalseen.
  16. ^^ With respect, ayeeyo, what you know has nothing to do with anything in the Somali world. It's all about who you know and your 'dna' link to them. Of course, some try to ditch such an idea but the tide is too strong. So, in short, Xaaji X is right. Jacaylbaro;735459 wrote: Yaad u jeeddaa ?? Ma aniga?

  18. The author of this humbug is Somalia's special envoy to the United States no less. Had this man been a regular forum member or coffee shop dweler, I would not have minded his nonsense that much but he is a man connected to those that lead Somalia today. He really should know better than to spread such awful nonsense.
  19. On your way in (you and all these people) did you happen to bump into an old youngish looking man that looks like Ghandi (the Indian not the Somali)? I would swap all the new poeple for one A&T dammit. And welcome anyway.

  21. ^^ You've been always trying to burst this so called bubble and were always proven wrong. I welcome your contribution. Norf, even with the CL I still think City will be good. I also doubt if United will buy that Dutch guy (I'm not going to try to spell his name ). But even if they do get him, where in hell will they fit him in? He's no Scholes, he's no Alonso and he only shines in a 4-3-2-1 (If Rooney is the lone striker it means the Mexican boy will be on the bench and if they both play then Rooney will be lost on the right). I actually hope United do get him, he'll only be another Veron or even worse Berbatov.

We actually don't need any defenders (but it would be nice to have more). Our problems have always been about breaking down the smaller teams not the big ones. This is why Dalglish went out and bought himself a shedload of midfielders. I mean you already know that we'll beat Chelsea (again) home and away, we'll beat United at home and away, we'll draw with Arsenal like we always do and we'll beat City. It's West Brom, Bolton and Norwich that usually worry me. This season, with Downing on the wing, Adam on the bench and Lucas spreading passes to Aqua or Stevie, I am more than sure that we'll walk all over the smaller teams (and if that does not work, Carroll alone will). Oz, how could AVB have lots of exprience when the rascal is even younger than Norf? Chelsea have the same team as last season and the same problems. They need someone in the middle and the left. They need to sort out their right back position and they need to fill the subs bench. United also need to fix the middle too and their goalkeeper is still untested. City (though it's Manchini's team) might actually do well.
