^^ It's a LONDON thing. Bahal xun oo cod weyn ayaa hadh iyo goor ku odhanaya "the number you called does not exist".

^^ I was planning to visit Burco but I was enjoying myself too much I don't know where the time went. Ten days is not enough. And, anyway, what's the point of going to Burco when they all seem to be in H town anyway. Ayeeyo, did I tell that Ibti drives a car that talks Japanese? And she didn't crash into anything yet! I'm still in shock. :D p.s. Juxa, I am reliably informed that Ibti has recently viewed some royal cake. Waliga ma argtay 'kake' qol gooni loo sameeyay? There is nothing in that room but a tiny cooler/fridge with sad looking cakes in it.

Abtigiis;822388 wrote: Dear Ayoub, Actually islam is not compatible with moden governance. A simple question is how do you raise the funds to run the state machinery? Zakka? The catagory of allowed benefIciaries does not include traffic police, mInisters, MPs, the military, diplomats etc. The 8 catagories allowed all have to be poor! Just an example. Also, on the issue you raised, why only doctors and teachers for women to work? Do you think the vast number of women in the west (muslims) will be able to find work in a women-exclusive environment? Isn't that wishful? Actually Islam is compatible with modern and ancient governance, saaxib. MUSLIMS (for the most part) are not. Let me give you an example of car drivers. I don't personally drive (as you already know) but, recently, I had the pleasure (and misfortune) of joining Norf and JB in car journeys. JB is a slow and careful driver. He likes to watch everything that comes his way and therefore never ever speeds, in case he misses something. Norf on the other hand is a boy racer who gets very furstrated if the car in front slows down or if there is a traffic jam. The car they drive is the same make and has the same speed but the drivers are different. Muslims (and more so the wadaado) are the same as these two. Somali wadaado, if I'm being specific, are (mostly) the Norf type. This reminds me of the lecture I was forced to listen to on the bus journey to Berbera airport. It was a recording of one of the main Hargeisa sheikhs talking about suicide amongst the young in Europe and he (to my utter amazement and information) informed the congregation that many European countries have set up legal suicide centres for the young who are fed up with life so that these countries can work out what drives the young to commit suicide. In short (unless someone would enlighten me with proper proof) it's the old issue of باطل يراد به حق "falsehood intended for good". The problem is that there is too much of that around and I wouldn't trust Somalis to do it right without educating them all first. p.s. Women working or not working has nothing to do with the faith. These are only the problems of the privileged.

^^ Anigu warkayga wuu badanahay laba kilmado kuma koobi karo. Ibti ayaa warka wada haysa. Waa qurba jooga ay Juxa ka hadlaysay saaka! p.s. It's going to be an interesting game. I'm not sure who is going to win. Barca have not been playing well of late and Chelsea have been very confident. 50/50

^^ I was going to make fun of you, Ibti but something told me to behave. Ileen my late ayeeyo was correct when she told me that my great ancestors were awliyo! Heh. There were far too many Londoners there for my liking, ayeeyo. Many were doing good work and a few were hanging around in the hope of landing something. I met most of them by chance. Upon my return I was told that many people thought I went there for a 'mashrooc' of my own. p.s. I spent the majority of the time watching football with some guy who struggles to understand how it's played. Lakin ha o bixin, I managed to explain a few things to him.

Alpha, I was in a trance dee. Plus, when I mentioned you to Nor & JB neither man gave any indication that they actually had your number.
-
^^ I'm already back at my desk, saaxib. But I'm sure if you decide to meet JB this time he will do all the necessary to make your stay in H town a memorable one. p.s. I think Ayoub should send me a PM too. For I am fully, strongly and unashamedly a secularist when it comes to Somali affairs.

^^^ A liberal who is anti shiisha? Bax warya...

^^ JB, as ever, did a brilliant job. Marx ran off to Burco the minute he met me (make of that what you will). The motherland was/is an amazing mix of brilliance and travesty. I'm not sure if I should share my impressions in detail though. p.s. Sayid, a thousand apologies saaxib. Blame it on faxada safarka. I had every intention to contact you before going but have no idea how I forgot! p.p.s Yes I met our mutual friend. He's still a workaholic.

^^ Dee haa. It sound like a word one would use to describe a lady who has a bad reputation. As in "heblaayo waa shokashoke", etc, etc..
-
I am back. I just didn't have time to type anything (not even when Juxa tried to entice me out with her hurtful words). Nothing to report really. The only new thing I (think) learned was the name for scrambled eggs! I'm still sure it sounds like some kind of cay!

^^ I have a feeling that Bayern (assuming all their players are fit) might actually win this year's cup.
-
^^ Tomorrow night to Dubai and Monday morning to Berbera. Pass it on to all the tea drinkers.
-
^^ There is a cute young Somali girl that has a video diary of her own on youtube. I watched a couple of those and now I just want to hold her pretty little face gently in my hands and look deeply into her eyes before I SMASH HER HEAD REPEATEDLY AGAINST THE WALL!
-
^^ When are you coming? If it's any time in the next two weeks, then I wont be in the country. But if it's in May and after I'll be more than happy to offer that cup of tea that Maaddeey refused to have. p.s. I've been to Brusseles several times in the past and I have seen lots of Somalis there. Carafaat and the man pretending to be a girl should really know all about this (since they profess to be living in Holland) but that's scripts for you. Never a full story.

Next Puntland president will be from the great state of Maakhir

^^ What have you seen that annoyed you that much? (Salaam/Morning all). p.s. All the tea drinkers are joining Norf in his absurd argument. Naga daaya dee.

^^ Range Resources has a good reputation in the field, adeer. Don't listen to know-nothing Somalis who neither did the research nor know anything about oil exploration. As for this one, the setup sounds dodgy (and I have never heard of any of these companies but I supposed I could always check them out on Streamonline). -

The thing that is drunk in Burco and almost all parts of Somaliland (Somalia) is not actually tea. it's sweetned hot water. Secondly, I do occassionaly drink tea but I have had the opportunity to refuse tea in Burco previously (what else did you think I did in those four hours? ) and with no problems at all. Reer Burco hanaga caayin warya..they're not all tea and budhs. p.s. Carafaat, I drink water. My bottle never leaves my side (and Diet Coke on occassion).

Mohammed Yusuf Ali is fronting a company that is working in partnership with the Australians? It says the join venture is split down the middle (50-50) but who takes one half here? SL having one half and the others having a half between them or does SL not come into it? It all sounds dodgy to me, Xaaji. Maxa war?
