I am sure you don't wish everyone commenting on your "Things" everytime you walk along the street..Like Eh..She's got ...This and that..Eh those are ...This and that..Islam avoids you all that.. I think that explains why we, somali men mainly marry Hijabees..It is a first hand experience for your daughter and sons to find their mum more decent and not anyway semi-nude.. The opposite of a Hijabee is a devent somali man..Respectful to his wife, his family, her family and all muslims and who fears Allah.

  4. Nairobi In the 80's and 90's upto 98... Just Read This If you know about Kenya... The ‘80s music that we could access consisted of off-cuts from Top of the Pops, a German music show on VOK (remember that video they were obsessed with about Kylie Minogue in a spacesuit), an all-American music show (I think the Mickey Mouse Club or something), and VOK also used to show music videos in-between progis. I remember Stephanie Powers singing “The Power of Love†between Habari Kwa Ufupi and Vituko, and “STOP! In the Name of Love†before Leonard Mambo Mbotela asked us “huu ni ungwana?†in his progi. There were songs which embody the ‘80s like that song with the lyrics “pump, pump the jam, pump it up, why your beats are stumping..†There was also that song “Back to Life†(1990 I think) which was particularly poignant on the last day of the holls. Remember that song “teretetetere.. I love your smile,†and of course there was MC Hammer and that ‘running man’ craze. There was also ‘Take My Breath Away’ from the movie Top Gun, a Euro-pop song involving sailors, more Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan (singing “Too Many Broken Hearts in the Worldâ€) – anything they came out with was a hit because they were in Neighbours and personally if I missed even 5 minutes of a Neighbours episode I would raramika. Kienyeji songs included Mariru, Mumunya (both by Sam Muthee), Kamaru songs, Benga (like Daniel Owino – mnakumbuka that song “Shauri Yako.. shauri yako eehâ€), and I remember a song on Music Time by an elderly man singing “(something) (something) theremende.†Yvonne Chaka Chaka was also very popular, I remember Uquombothi (“wema sameni, wo uqombothiâ€) and a song about a DJ (“please, Mr DJ, I need youâ€). Aah then Lingala tokead. There were so many Lingala songs that I can’t remember them now, but I recall Kwasa Kwasa by Kanda Bongo Man. Other Lingala artists included Professor Namaan – that guy reportedly ate 30 eggs everyday. I also remember Tshala Mwana and Mbilia M’Bel; Lingala dancers used to be gymnastic and they followed that craze whereby women shaved off their eyebrows and drew a line starting above the eye and ending up in the forehead like antennae. I also remember Queen Jane and Them Mushrooms. At some point people’s music “collections†in the ‘80s (these being pirate cassettes) shifted from general or Europop stuff to RnB. I kumbuka Gladys Knight, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey when she was shy (I still love that song ‘Always be my baby’), Chaka Khan, Boys II Men (wooii remember when their music hit Nai). Rap was also becoming popular – those were the days of Public Enemy, NWA, Heavy D, Kid & Play, Salt & Pepa. As the ‘90s ingiad hip hop and RnB became more prominent but in the ‘80s any song from America/Europe was considered to be okay. I kumbuka some weird robot-type electro/techno type songs. MJ dominated (“aauuâ€) as per kawa, as did people like Stevie Wonder (“I just called to say..â€), Michael Bolton, Prince (Purple Rain, 1999), George Michael (that song “never gonna dance again†always reminds me of those days in the mid 80s). Kulikuwa na saxophone obsession kubwa sana. Kumbuka Cyndi Lauper (“girls just wanna have funâ€), Whitney Houston with rainbow makeup (“wanna dance with somebody,†“one moment in timeâ€), Tevin Campbell of course – every chick had a crush on him, Will Smith/Jazz’s collabos “Boom, boom shake the room†and “summertime.†Aah those were songs we loved. When KTN ingiad there seemed to be an outburst of Kenyan musical groups. Kina Jimmy Gathu’s group (it had like twenty members) sang that song about road safety, Five Alive tokead, as did a group who sang about how “sorry depleted the mzungu’s ngombe;†there was also Swahili Nation. Oh and remember VOK/KBC bringing Taraab music on Sundays? That music was heavy on the ear with those accordion-type instruments and those mathes imploring us in conk Swaha, then the people in the audience would weka Ksh 20 notes on her. On Music Time there were Kienyeji songs involving a one-man-band: a guy would play a nyatiti, a percussion instrument, and also a flute at the same time. Talk about multi-tasking. Yenyewe I can’t really remember music being that great in the ‘80s. I think that Nai people our age only really began to get into music in the ‘90s when, everywhere you turned, kulikuwa na ‘ziki hata kwa mathree. Kina SWV, Jodeci, TLC, Bone Thugs N Harmony, R Kelly were big names. By then everyone was obsessed with the “latest music†(latest in as far as it arrived on that progi at 6pm KTN, or on Fred Obachi Machoka’s ‘Music Time.’ Hakukuwa na any radio stations for teenies as far as I can remember). I kumbuka kids being told ati “you don’t know who Keith Sweat is? Haujasikia the latest Babyface song? Aah weh mshamba kabisa.†We were also obsessed with dance moves; the last one I bothered learning was the “shuffle.†There was also a dance move which involved moving the shoulders pekee, another one involved twisting the feet on tip-toes. Woi how could I forget Kriss-Kross – what happened to them? Remember that song “Jump jump, mack daddy’ll make ya.. jump jump, Kriss-Kross will make ya.. jump jump.†They were pendwad by chicks sana. Aah- and New Kids on The Block!!! “Candy girl..†I think they sang. Also we didn’t consider Vanilla Ice to be uncool as a matter of fact “ice ice baby†and I also remember a male group called the “Spin doctors†singing “if you want to buy me flowers/ just go ahead now.†Rock in the ‘80s was quite prominent. I recall Def Leppard, Sting, Bryan Adams “everything I do..†(from the Robin Hood movie) and some song about “living on the edge†until there were storos in the press about Rock being the devil’s music and ati there were hidden messages hapo ndani so Rock kinda became unpopular in Nai. Also we were told that playing such records backwards reveals hidden, sinister messages?? As a matter of fact we were also warned against rap (too violent), RnB (too suggestive), Country music (erm Kenny Rogers had a beard), Lingala (too excitement-inducing), Kienyeji songs (too Kienyeji), so I guess our only recourse ilikuwa to hum our own music. were you there anyways Link Nairoberry Blogs...
  5. Source Are you a representative of islam    Good Behaviour:An Essential Requisite Of Islam, By: Sirajuddin Aziz The verses 261 -265 in Surah Baqarah mention about charity and the high standards it requires. It is here that Allah says:"Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity." (11: 263) In the above verse, Almighty Allah places good deeds such as covering the faults of others at the same pedestal as charity. This verse proves that performance of prayers, fasts, Zakah and Hajj must be accompanied by revolutionary changes in the character of an individual. The changes must induce piety (Taqwah), mercifulness, forbearance, forgiveness and also the ability to bury the knowledge of misdeeds of others in our day to day life. Unfortunately, we openly talk and broadcast any misdeed we come to know of others. Such behaviour is in direct conflict with the dictates of the Holy Qur'aan. SAYIDINA Ali (RA) once said, "One of the finest gestures of an independent person is not to take advantage of what he knows of others." A truly behaving soul always endeavor to hide faults, not with any mischievous intention, but in the overall interest of society. Even more damaging to the social fabric is the bragging in public about one's sins. We come across people who indulge openly in loud talking about their evil exploits. At the core of each form of worship is the objective of developing human qualities in a person. The performance of prayers, fasts, Zakah or any other form of worship must initiate good manners and exemplary behaviour. The Holy Prophet (SAW) in his life exemplified the aspects of qualitative changes in the personality that a Muslim must usher in his everyday life. The Holy Qur'aan says: "You have indeed in the Apostle of Allah (SAW), a beautiful pattern of conduct." (xxxiii: 21) And on another verse, it is declared: 'And thou standest on an exalted standard of Character." (LXVIII: 4). He invoked the mercifulness of Almighty Allah through Archangel Jibril(Gabriel), when he visited him with the command of Allah that should the Holy Prophet (SAW) desire, he will cause the two mountains at opposite ends to collide with each other, so that everybody therein would die. The Holy Prophet (SAW) who was then bleeding as a result of injuries caused by the pelting of stones prayed against and wished that someday from their progeny there would be Muslims. And yet again he is a Holy Prophet (SAW) who announces general amnesty to all, when he re-enters Makkah as a conqueror. Through this one act, the Holy Prophet (SAW) set aside the bitter persecution he and his companions endured at the bands of Makkans. The Holy Prophet (SAW) again demonstrated that it is better to forgive than to take revenge. Here it must be understood that only the powerful can forgive. Otherwise, the weak posses no option except to keep quiet. The extremely gentle nature of the Holy Prophet (SAW) made him the greatest of all. "It is part of the mercy of Allah that thou deal gently with them were thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee, so pass over their faults and ask forgiveness." (11:159) These verses were revealed after the battle of Uhud, when this attribute of the Holy Prophet (SAW) was most valuable. It was at the battle of Uhud, when he was wounded, a companion asked him to invoke Divine wrath on the enemy. The Holy Prophet (SAW) said: "I have been sent not as a curse to mankind but as an inviter to good and as a mercy" Allah explains typical behaviour of a Muslim in the verse: "The believer men and women are the protectors of one another. They enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil. (X: 7 1) In the gravest of provocations, no Muslim is expected to give up just and kind behaviour. Allah has commanded: "Say to my servants that they should only say those things that are best. (XVIL53) Abdullah Yousuf Ali interpreting this verse says, "This command refers to two situations: (1) even to your enemies and the enemies of God, you should speak fair: who are you to judge others. Judgement belongs to Allah alone, for he knows mankind best and your personal knowledge at best is imperfect. (2) Amongst yourselves i.e. believers, you should not entertain suspicion but speak politely according to best standards of human speech. A false or unkind word may destroy all efforts of building up unity, because the forces of disruption are numerous than the forces of unity." We have completely forgotten these simple but lofty standards, we need to practice in our everyday life. The Holy Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual exemplary kind behaviour to infidels and non-believers. Once the Holy Prophet (SAW) was walking with some of his Companions at a slow pace which disturbed the Companions. One of them remarked, "0' Holy Prophet (SAW) Why can't we walk a little faster?" The Holy Prophet (SAW) said, "Don't you see there is an old man walking ahead of us." The Companion said, "But he is a non-believer!" The Holy Prophet (SAW) said, "Yes, he is, but then, he is also old and therefore worthy of respect." Yet again, a bier was once passing by and the Holy Prophet (SAW) stood up for it: and his Companions stood up with him and one of them said to the Holy Prophet: "0' Holy Prophet (SAW)! Verily this bier is of a Jewish woman, we may not respect it." The Holy Prophet (SAW) said, "Verily! Death is dreadful, therefore, when you see a bier, stand up (for it)." The Holy Qur'aan bears testimony to his exceedingly modest behaviour: "Surely, such a thing hurts the Holy Prophet (SAW) but he is too modest to tell you so, and Allah does not forbear to tell the truth." (33:53) The Holy Prophet's entire life was characterized by sincerity and simplicity. He showed complete disdain to worldly comforts. He ate simple food, dressed conservatively and his apartments were simple blended exquisitely with cleanliness. He cared for his friends and as generous even to his worst enemies. He was extremely polite in speech, sympathetic to the oppressed, loving to the orphans and was fond of children. Islam reached China in the East and to the gates of Vienna in the West not though the sword; it was the exemplary behaviour of Muslims, which induced people to the fold of Islam. Good behaviour is the biggest requisite of our religion and is the distinctive hallmark of a true believer. You are an example of ISLAM..Show it!!!

  12. This is not my Thread... While many SOL ladies are mashallah fine breed of muslims, yacni "Mu'uminaat", people who will uphold Islam today and tomorrow, While surfing, I saw this English muslim lady with her nice piece of website talking about ISLAM AND XISHOOD... Read Tara's World of Islam here Part of Xishood she talked about ... Among the disappearing signs of Hayaa` in women today are the disgraceful displaying of women almost half naked, and not covering their adornment and modesty, by wearing perfumes and thereby showing no shame in mixing freely with men, shaking hands in a proud and undignified manner. Another example in men and women of today, is to the listening and playing of music, watching shameful, disgusting movies in front of their wives and children without any sign of respect. This in turn excite and arouses sexual desires, demolishes moral codes of conduct and paves the way for detestable and rebellious behaviour and deeds. Where is the Hayaa`, the shyness in those people who abandon their children to the lost and lustful life of the streets by allowing them to mix with strangers of wicked and insubordinate character? Where is the Hayaa`, the shyness in the smoker who exhales smoke from his mouth into the faces of those sitting in his company, thereby spreading the stench of bad breathe and harmful odours? It is the absence of Hayaa` or shyness, that causes those people to be reduced to the lowest of lows, confirming what the Prophet, Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam said: "If you feel no shame, then do as you wish." The Prophet has said: "All of my Nation are apt to be forgiven except for those who commit sins openly. Included among those who commit sins openly is where a person performs a deed during the night and although Allah had concealed that sin, in the morning he say "O so and so, last night I did such and such". They surely know we keep modesty and our ladies are chaste.. Wondered why everyone is against Islam nowadays???..Ask yourself Islam is against All kind of evils including alcohol, nudity or semi, adultery, Gay, Lesbianism, terrorism, and inequalities of women/men...When you see this they feel threatened..They feel ISLAM is interfearing with the way of "their" life.. No wonder Bush talks so much about "Our way of Life", "Our civilized way of Life"..They want to have freedom and liberation in everything..I don't need to discuss this anymore...We are muslims and we have our way of life.. Islam is for Men and women to be modest.Women need to show their beauty to their men(Husbands), Men To dress properly to show it to their wives and so on.When you are almost half dressed or semi nude..They will say "You Look fine and beautiful" and ..."Do u wanna join us at the lesbianism and gay parade??" Islam is for equality, Men/Women, Rich/Poor, Masters/servant, oppressed and opressors, In almost everything spiritual...You will see The nuclear club,a G8club, a whatever club and so on..Where "Others" like IRAN(Coz it is a muslim state)is never allowed to have technological and Nuclear research, Islam is about Equality.Let anyone do anything he/she likes within the Islamic limits.Whether they like it or not, Islam is spreading coz people are seeing the truth..Islam will win with whatsoever hurdles.. No wonder Islam is spreading In India cause Islam abolished The Caste system.. Where rich indians oppress the majority poor. Islam accepts That the Torah and the Gospel christianity believe in but us muslims know the gospel was corrupted. That was why Islam had come to amend it to the correct teachings..If Islam was against the Gospel or The torah, then The prophet would "abscond" them. Islam knew that Christianity was messed after Prophet Issa.. You can Read here... Is Bible God's Word Why Call Prophet Issa God....Can God be seen 50,000 Errors in the bible Islam is spreading like bush fire in the harmattan Islam Spreading The whole world(USA/CANADA/Australia,LATIN AMERICA and Africa) Whoever wants to criticize Islam, let him do it now...coz Islam is Reviving again...This time it is between "I am a muslim" or "I am non-muslim"

Shariah is the sole living survivor in the modern world of a legal system based on religion. This itself is enough to condemn it in the eyes of those who regard any convergence of religion and law as anathema. But in Muslim countries, where religion is generally held in higher regard than it is in Australia, the religious basis of the law is accepted and, indeed, regarded by many as essential.

  18. There is someone who is HAPPY @muslims who are against their own religion... Makalajabti, I am happy to see that not all of you are pro-sharia, I was losing hope bilan, You talked some truth walahi,That was good. how can any sane muslim be against the shari'a,shari'a is derived from hadiths and quran, scholars disagreed with each other, but these people actually did spend years and years learning hadiths and fiqhs, and i mean years not two minutes googling. also when they disagreed with each other they had their proof based again on hadiths and quran, they were/are not following their desires. i think shari'a is complex field, and unless you have the knowledge you can not argue against it. Anyone who doesn't accept what Allah has revealed whether it was meant for 6th Century or the 21st century , is Not a muslim. It is either you are a muslim or a non-muslim.Fullstop No one is forcing you anyways No wonder you see Islamic control on the advise of The Shariah that came from the Quraan and translated with Hadith, on alcohol, prostitution, adultery, AIDS, Gay and lesbianism, swinging and many diseases to some extent STD's and many others.
