^no; patronizing never works either. i would rather go for an educational approach: a gathering of information and a discussion which is free from personal opinions, preconceptions and prejudices, based on evidence. personal attacks never work. Cheers

^^^^read it again!!!!!!!!! Without any preconceived ideas and assumptions. Try to forget your cultural/ religious background fro a moment and READ it. Also just because you wrote an essay on it, it does not mean you understood it. More like you copied and reworded chunks from here and there, and effectively structure it into an argument. if i understood every essay i wrote, i would be the most intelligent girl in the whole wide world.

“If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence.†—

the apostate is to be freed and he may well be insane anyway........ 'Mental issues' Earlier, Mr Rahman's family asked the court to dismiss the case against him, saying he suffered from mental illness. Supreme Court Judge Ansarullah Mawlavizada told the BBC there was considerable doubt that Mr Rahman was fit to stand trial. According to Judge Mawlavizada, Mr Rahman appeared "disturbed". He said the accused man's relatives had told the authorities he was insane and that they claimed Mr Rahman had said he heard strange voices in his head. The judge also said it was not clear if the accused was really an Afghan or a citizen of another country. Mr Rahman has lived outside Afghanistan for 16 years and is believed to have converted to Christianity during a stay in Germany. source:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/4847342.stm in any case shirah law is 16yrs too late. Ansarullah Mawlafizada, the trial judge, say "Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, kindness and integrity. That is why we have told him if he regrets what he did, then we will forgive him." My comment: How peaceful, how tolerant, how kind, how forgiving. he should have just kept quiet
