Tea 'healthier' drink than water The researchers recommend people consume three to four cups a day Drinking three or more cups of tea a day is as good for you as drinking plenty of water and may even have extra health benefits, say researchers. The work in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition dispels the common belief that tea dehydrates. Tea not only rehydrates as well as water does, but it can also protect against heart disease and some cancers, UK nutritionists found. Experts believe flavonoids are the key ingredient in tea that promote health. Healthy cuppa These polyphenol antioxidants are found in many foods and plants, including tea leaves, and have been shown to help prevent cell damage. Tea replaces fluids and contains antioxidants so its got two things going for it Lead author Dr Ruxton Public health nutritionist Dr Carrie Ruxton, and colleagues at Kings College London, looked at published studies on the health effects of tea consumption. They found clear evidence that drinking three to four cups of tea a day can cut the chances of having a heart attack. Some studies suggested tea consumption protected against cancer, although this effect was less clear-cut. Other health benefits seen included protection against tooth plaque and potentially tooth decay, plus bone strengthening. Dr Ruxton said: "Drinking tea is actually better for you than drinking water. Water is essentially replacing fluid. Tea replaces fluids and contains antioxidants so it's got two things going for it." Rehydrating She said it was an urban myth that tea is dehydrating. "Studies on caffeine have found very high doses dehydrate and everyone assumes that caffeine-containing beverages dehydrate. But even if you had a really, really strong cup of tea or coffee, which is quite hard to make, you would still have a net gain of fluid. "Also, a cup of tea contains fluoride, which is good for the teeth," she added. There was no evidence that tea consumption was harmful to health. However, research suggests that tea can impair the body's ability to absorb iron from food, meaning people at risk of anaemia should avoid drinking tea around mealtimes. Tea is not dehydrating. It is a healthy drink Claire Williamson of the British Nutrition Foundation Dr Ruxton's team found average tea consumption was just under three cups per day. She said the increasing popularity of soft drinks meant many people were not drinking as much tea as before. "Tea drinking is most common in older people, the 40 plus age range. In older people, tea sometimes made up about 70% of fluid intake so it is a really important contributor," she said. Claire Williamson of the British Nutrition Foundation said: "Studies in the laboratory have shown potential health benefits. "The evidence in humans is not as strong and more studies need to be done. But there are definite potential health benefits from the polyphenols in terms of reducing the risk of diseases such as heart disease and cancers. "In terms of fluid intake, we recommend 1.5-2 litres per day and that can include tea. Tea is not dehydrating. It is a healthy drink." The Tea Council provided funding for the work. Dr Ruxton stressed that the work was independent. BBC

Afro I think it is God sent for sisters who suffer from really heavy periods. It looks big though, hence my request for feed back. But it is made from silicone rubber so folds and models to size I expect. A&T I think you just saw this as an opportunity to maybe have a pop at me, but I don't think anyone considers a natural part of a women’s life as "filth". In any case this thread is suppose to be female only, as it clearly says on the title, so you should not be here to have your senses offended to start with. I think your dear friend NGONGE ruled last week and we agreed, that If you are offended by something don’t read it.

^^Who told you to read things that clearly say DON@T READ! and you are still here checking responses! damn Preedy I would advise you to try the Mooncup AKA menstrual cup instead of tampons. It is worn internally like a tampon but collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing, therefore it is more hygienic, does not leave fiber behind, nor do you risk infections. Also you only need to buy one, which can last you for a year. You can read more here: http://www.mooncup.co.uk/menstrual_cup_whatisit.html Let us know if you try it inshallah. As for your question with regards to if they break your virginity. Well from a religious perspective the answer is obviously no, if you mean as a token of "saving yourself for your husband" then the answer is still no, but if you mean as a token of PROOF, then you should also stop running, riding bikes, gymnastic, splits, horse riding and many more things, which also COULD break the line. Nepthy, are you kidding  She shoved it up her a*ss! No way! CC, never heard of an automatic remover??

Originally posted by AYOUB: A&T Cheer up buddy. Didn't read the deleted thread but I'm sure Ibti only meant it as a sisterly telling off, that's all. It's all because of your approachable nature and her openness. Were you off-line (no pun) when Ibti casually revealed that a senior nomad spends some lunch-breaks in their local pup? Oh no I did not?? Are you kidding?? even worse I don't remember. As for the thread, Oh what a suprise, another calcal thread. Ngonge I read "your" esteem opinion on that thread yesterday. Basically what you said was: Oh A&T you are good man, nice stories, I like them and you. Furthermore you have a right to be offensive and rude (Implying you thought he was rude and offensive) Then you went on...however those who are offended should stop reading because by now they should expect nothing less from you, nor is it a surprise that you continue with it. You concluded that you thought it was Inappropriate (can't remember if you wrote [time]) So basically you baby talked him, stroked his ego and then patronized him. So please stop lecturing people about attacking him. My attacks are just less diplomatic and I can't be asked to babysit and sugarcoat things for grown people. He freely and underhandly takes digs at me all the time, just because they are less obvious does not make them acceptable. So he can cry or calcal for all he likes, surely he realised people will like or dislike his stories and as you said I don't see him sending person "Thank you cards to his fans" Malika. I've never "attacked" someone to be part of a group, I've always spoken my mind on my own without getting into a cult mentality. Perhaps the fact so many people think/ view something the same way suggest a valid opinion rather than conformity behaviour.
