  1. Lazy: Well good for you dear, I’m glad you push yourself and you get so angry and I hope you are able to do more for them. As for what I am emotionally invested in, you could not even being to understand, so we'll keep that door firmly close shall we. As for data, the causes are obvious, the data tells you where or who you shall be focusing on or prioritising, without data you are a headless chicken running around. Don't know what questioned you asked me, must have missed it?

  3. ^^I cannot watch things that does fit into reality or at least seem plausible. So I can't watch animated stuff and things like this.
  4. Lool @ Ila Yom al Qiyama, They have recently been given funds to tackle the situation, but they wasting most of it, and lack of research and policy means most of it will go to policy papers and research (unless they divert it else where all together.) I don't see sitution improving anytime soon though.
  5. ^^Make sure you use organisations that exist and do something, giving your money to a rich toog is a *b*i*t**. Plus recently I've started to think that this small donations don't change anything, jst maintains the condition, and makes us feel less guilty once in a while. But then again if it does get there, it makes a difference to the one who gets it. I can't help it, they took the emotions out of everything, I spent the first two years crying and fighting with everyone for speaking about people in numbers and boxs.
  6. I can't watch Supernaturalism/Sword &Sorcery etc so this year is a really bad year for me. Saw trailer for Wolfman, does not look healthy at all.
  7. That image is so nasty. I went to the link you posted above of the Jamas Tunna, horrid images  After going swimming yesterday, today I noticed my arm muscles are defined when I tense  I'm gonna get big shoulders?
  8. How about they pick up a book, you know the old fashion way. Read, read and read till you are as smart or educated as you want. Miis you think the niqab means they also forget how to read. Why Somali wadads btw?

Aad iyo aad ayaa naagaha baahan ugu afgaftay and only someone whose belly is fool talks the way you are talking about these women. They did not choose the job, the job chose them because of their circumstances. What would you have a mother of 3 do in yemen, who doesnt have tol in diaspora to support her and her children? She cant get a job? The government cant provide for their people much less refugees...so, the only other think she can do is Beg? She is doing that already. She is begging men to sleep with her so that her child doesnt go hungry and have enough to buy milk and bread and put a roof over their heads. What more do you have them do? YOu want her to kill herself out of shame? I'm positive the thought has crossed her mind but she cant bring herself to do it because her children will be left alone to starve to death...so what would you have her do? Put her in a category and say if she is a certain age, she is whoring herself because she wants to because she has given hope, so let her whore herself, because Ibti feels that there is more these women can do...you dont think Naag somali eh, oo Muslim eh thought about the alternatives? You dont give our women much credit but you are the first to champion an arab's right to wear Burka... I say take your words back for Allah is witness to your cruelty...your idea of showing compassion is only limited to the suffering of the Muslims in the middle east... Take back your words or tan mar maalintaan aheyn baad illaah ugu jawaabeysaa.... Seems like your emotions are running away with you today lazy. Hold your horses, I'm sure you'll need them for something else. Go back and read what I wrote instead of looking for key words. Observing something interesting in a supposed research is normal and advised. Categorizing them or noticing patterns only means we look at things from different perspective. You read this and though Oh my god this poor women, damn these Somalis who chased them out of their homes, and this Arabs and our useless leaders and Somalis in the Diaspora who are not doing enough. Whereas I read it and thought, I wonder how wide spread this is? What percentage of the Somali women there, how long does the average one stay in this trade, is it self prostitution or do they have PIMPS who beat and rip them off. Does it involve young people, what age range. Looking at the females they interviewed it would appear it is women, new arrivals, with children/dependents over the age of 30, I would then progress into why them etc. Allah knows my intentions and I hope my meeting with him will be good.
  12. No, the title is as it was published in AlJazeera, in fact, there are few more lines which follow that I did not bother putting in. Maybe your so bent on seeing your own view as usual waxaba ku daqdaqi. As for minarets, maybe you need to go back to them threads, I was not bothered then, even less hadaa, I already gave you my reason for posting this, so there is no need for your theories. As for sound angry, I don't know what your on about- on second though, I have my Burka on today- maybe it is changing my behaviour P.s. I did not go to all those blogs your bloody baadow, It was all in the one article I posted as a quote!!
  13. Originally posted by LayZie G.: Ibti, the title of this thread is very misleading and I'm very disappointed that your campaign of everything Muslims has come to this. (are there no burka wearers that you can champion for anymore instead of recycling news?) Cyber Nomad is the only one that has some sense left in this forum for he/she is only one that pointed to the obvious. The subject did not convert overnight nor did the news of his conversion occur in the year 2010. Today is wednesday, February 10th, 2010 and the subject's conversion took place sometime n 2007 but somehow, somewhere, this has become a recent news that we should know about? He is a nobody and his conversion does not change anything. I Would sooner hear about a youtube conversion of a Caucasian subject than this opportunistic man who was looking to score political points against his former party and commit indirect treason by selling out his country. Lazy like I care when and if you are disappointed. This was not campaign and speaking of Burka I got bored of waiting for you to catch some air. The thread title is not misleading unless your English somehow went AWOL on you. Swiss Politician Daniel Streich, Who Led Anti-Islamic Campaign:- Embraces Islam. That is the long and short of it, I never claimed he did it today, in fact it says on the article the date he did as well as when he made it public. As for why is it news, I posted this thread to highlight to someone people that Islam can and is for everyone regardless of what they use to say. If I dig back a few years I can find blog entries I made about this "evil ignorant man". How time changes. So to answer your question; it is news because he recently went public with his new religion, and I felt it is appropriate for the current tone of SOL, with all the my religion is not your religion that is going on. If it bothers you so much >>> As for he sold his country, how?? by changing religions, not another one of your illogical reasons again please, as for why he changed religion, only he and Allah knows. Can you say you are a better Muslim than him? It is all irrelevant to be honest. Everyone is a nobody to others who have no significance to him. It matters to HIM that he converted and most importantly it matters to people know him. In addition it matters to Muslims in his society because he is a rich, experienced recognizable man, who if nothing else can bring religion from its isolated corner and into the mainstream.
  14. And you are doing what for them?? Aside from mouthing off in a forum that is. Really, sadness, outrage and disgust isn’t going to get them barris or get them out of prostitution. But I guess it makes you feel better. There are lots of dedicated people speaking for them, working and helping them, they could use more people and resources, and also getting ride of all those who claim to speak for them but really just use them to get funds. Nevertheless regardless of the help available the situation is always going to be bad in camps and particularly for illegal aliens. It is not only Yemen, refugees in the “civilized West” also face challenges, particularly lone women travelers and the conditions of some of the camps, particularly in places like Malta is horrendous. PeaceNow, nice to see that aside from your usual name calling, your sharing the shame and have empathy today. As for what else can they do; interestingly enough there was a BBC documentary on the Somalis in Yemen and many were doing things like carrying shopping, washing cars, clothes, shinning shoes and housework. It is interesting that in this report (unless it is yet again another fabricated one) all the women are older, previously married, have external pressures (from Somalia). So this trade attracts certain age range who probably psychologically at least given up on having a normal life, which makes it an alternative rather than compulsion.
  15. I have severe headache but can't get out of work today. I wish it snowed, then it won't be at cold after and we could have a loooooooong weekend; I feel like going away for the weekend.

  17. What do you mean you are not coming back? I heard from a friend who heard from another friend, who heard from a cousin, who heard for a relative of yours, who said he uses SOL, that he heard his cousin on the phone to his other cousin who was talking about a friend who is related to Sheh, and word has it that Sheh is being held hostage, that she is in no where special and they are trying to force a farah to walk down her road. Come back lady, but not this week, it is gonna snow again. North, what has trust got to do with anything (although I do trust her) she gets results and she knows her stuff when it comes to food.
  18. I no I am fine as I am, but when I told her that, she told me off being unsupportive and not trying hard enough her perfect day. I have a feeling this wedding is going to make me lose a friend by the end of it, waxakast she is saying I’m the bride, I’m suppose yad yad yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. So I promised last week that I would at least try a little harder and not moan (she has to go down 3dresses sizes, but she’s been dieting since November so already half way. Funny thing, I told her, if she looks skinny it does not matter about the rest of us, she goes what if you don't fit into the camera lense in the pictures I could not stop laughing at her madness. Our other friend is not allowed to wear her glasses, she must wear contacts for the wedding- it is going to be a military operation. Never seen this side before
  19. ^^^Loool You know I've always had a big soft spot for Adam. If I was a women waan aftuub laah for marriage purposes But for now call it cyber love Welcome back (you are back right?) I need you, have you seen the freaks section, I need a 7day eating plan for three meals.
  20. Adaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam Heeelllllllo Big hug iyo mac. I'm really glad to see you around, I missed you!! I hate bad news, where are you going this time, tell me baal. Hope you got everything sorted and all is well. Hello to the rest of you North stop talking about food all the time baal, trying to start a diet here you know.
  21. Adam when you finish body building send me a picture baal. I want to see where all THAT food went!!! I'm joining you freaks again, so help please. I am a brides maid July 10 and July 22. The bride of the second wedding is a celebrity and she has order all of our dresses 1size smaller. So I must now comfortably fit into a size 8 dress, so I need to ideal get as small as a size 6 dress (I hate fitted dresses). Parts of the wedding will be on TV and it will hog the news for a week, so I was told to start dieting in January, but of course I thought she was joking. Anyway, where do I start. - I’ve stopped eating chocolates- 4days - No cake- 3days - 2 bottles of water and 2 cups of black tea. - Breakfast of porridge or cornflakes - Still working on what to eat for lunch yet - Dinner I’ve been making random things like vegs and grill chicken, steamed rice and chicken curry. - I can’t eat fruits (I’m trying dried fruits this week, see how that works out) but I’ve been drink innocent smoothie I get bored at the gym so I have also started swimming for 1 hour two times a week. I constantly have a headache for the last few days and my energy level are non existent as I went from eating 2-3 slices of cake a day and two chocolate snacks to relying on smoothie for sugar/sweet intake. I have also started eating nuts  I weighed myself and currently 59kg (I think it is KG?) just shy of 10stones basically. I guess I need to get down to 9 stone for size 6-8. Is it possible to shed 1stone in six month without me passing out or killing someone due to lack of sweet stuff. I need Sheh, when is she back tolow?
  22. The Swiss politician Daniel Streich, who rose to fame as a result of his opposition to mosques in his homeland, has now embraced the faith he reviled. Daniel Streich was a member of then Swiss People's Party (SVP) in Switzerland. A well-known politician, Streich led the calls for a ban on minarets across Switzerland. He was active in building anti-Muslim sentiments throughout Switzerland. This sustained campaign led to him being given a high ranking position in the Swiss Army. SVP Witch Hunt Streich left the SVP in November 2009 calling his party's campaign against Islam as a 'witch hunt.' The date coincided with the second anniversary of Streich's conversion which he had kept secret from the party. With the party's campaign to ban minarets leading to a referendum, Streich said the situation had become unbearable for him. I would have to ask myself, why I applied myself professionally and politically for over 30 years for this political system. It is not worthy of Switzerland to force Muslims to practice their faith in back alleys." Streich is a military instructor in the Swiss army and was said to be a committed Christian reading the Bible and attending Church regularly. He was also committed to his party (SVP) and stood as a local politician in the commune of Bulle. Daniel Streich Conversion to Islam Streich attempted to understand the Qur'an and Islamic teachings in order to argue against Muslims on tenets of their faith. In the course of his efforts the ex-Christian began to agree with and acknowledge the proclamations of the Qur'an. "Islam offers me logical answers to important life questions, which, in the end, I never found in Christianity," says Streich. He is now a committed Muslim, who attends the mosque, recites the Qur'an and prays five times a day. Post-Conversion Life for Daniel Streich Streich has now focused his intentions on participating in the building of the new Conservative Democratic Party in the canton of Freiburg. Freich's new movement is in contrast to his previous one and he aims to promote religious tolerance and peaceful cooperative living, in spite of the fact that ban on mosques minarets has gained a legal status. He is vehemently opposed to the Minaret ban and is hoping to establish Switzerland’s fifth mosque and the most beautiful in Europe. Meanwhile the SUV have raised concerns over Streich's position as Military Commander in the Army in the aftermath of his conversion citing him as a security risk. SVP-National Council member Alfred Heer cited the Fort Hood shooting spree as an example. A member of the Swiss People’s Party (SVP) and a well-known politician, Daniel Streich was the first man who had launched a drive for imposition of ban on mosques minarets, and to lock the mosques in Switzerland. The proclamation of Streich’s conversion to Islam has created furore in Swiss politics, besides causing a tremor for those who supported ban on construction of mosques minarets. Streich propagated his anti-Islamic movement far and wide in the country, sowed seeds of indignation and scorn for Islam among the people, and paved way for public opinion against pulpits and minarets of mosques. But now Streich has become a soldier of Islam. His anti-Islam thoughts finally brought him so close to this religion that he embraced Islam. He is ashamed of his doings now and desires to construct the most beautiful mosque of Europe in Switzerland. The most interesting thing in this regard is that at present there are four mosques in Switzerland and Streich wants to lay the foundation for the fifth one. He wishes to seek absolution of his sin of proliferating venom against Islam. He is thinking of a movement contrary to his previous one to promote religious tolerance and peaceful cooperative living, in spite of the fact that ban on mosques minarets has gained a legal status. This is the greatest quality of Islam that it comes up with even greater vigour, when it is faced with confrontation. Abdul Majeed Aldai, the president of OPI, an NGO, working for the welfare of Muslims, says that Europeans have a great desire to know about Islam. Some of them want to know about the relationship between Islam and terrorism; same was the case with Streich. During his confrontation, Streich studied the Holy Quran and started understanding Islam. He wished to be hard to Islam, but the outcome was otherwise. Aldai further says. Recently the question of ban on minarets was put to voting in Switzerland, wherein the Swiss nationals gave the issue a legal status. http://www.nation.com.pk/pakistan-news-newspaper-daily-english-online/International/30-Jan-2010/Swis s-antagonist-of-minarets-embraces-Islam ================ Daniel Streich a member of the Swiss political party who attacked mosques and minarets in Switzerland has now embraced Islam . I think Faheema has finally done what I could not do for so long, put me off Cake, she gave me cake for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner for months, and now cake does not give me the same excited feeling. Now it is just aah more cake. I don't have time to miss cake anymore and admire cake from a far, it is always on my plate. Considering a month cake free to get the buzz back.
