  1. Cairo - Veteran Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat said that like South Africa's Nelson Mandela he aims to lead his people to independence before finally handing over power, in a newspaper interview published on Tuesday. "I am ready to be the Nelson Mandela of palestine. I agree, but only after the establishment of a Palestinian state which I will preside over to start with and then leave to others," he told the London-based Arab daily Asharq Al-Awsat. Arafat said he would in any case bow to the decisions of the Palestinian leadership at large over whether to run in elections planned for next year. "Whatever the Palestinian leadership decides, I accept. After all, I will not impose myself, and Abu Ammar commits himself to (respect) whatever decision is taken by the Palestinian leadership," he said, using his own nom-de-guerre. In 1994, Mandela became the first elected president of post-apartheid South Africa. He stepped five years later in keeping with a pledge to serve only a single term. P.S Mr Arafat, don't forget Mr Mandela wasn't a sell out and never kissed nobody's rear end so maybe you should look for someone else as a role model because Mandela is way out of your league. say Hi to Suha for me, tell her IL CAPO said Heitara and remind her to return the Dirac she borrowed from my 1st Lady Na Na Na . Peace.
  2. Cairo - A recent fatwa, or religious ruling, against yoga in Egypt has alienated even some of the most devout Moslems who have decided to defy the decision. Jihane Babiker, an Egyptian businesswoman who describes herself as "a devout Moslem by conviction", is one. "Without a doubt, I am all for yoga and will unfortunately disregard the fatwa," she says. An ex-model who abandoned her career, donned the veil and holds weekly English language religious sessions with other women, Babiker is frustrated at what she describes as the mufti's "often insufficient responses to people's enquiries". Last week, in response to one enquiry from an unidentified Egyptian, the Grand mufti of Egypt Ali Gomaa declared yoga a sin for Moslems. Link with Hinduism The ruling by the mufti, highest authority on Islamic law, stipulates that yoga is a sin because it "is considered one of the ways of practising Hinduism and therefore should not be used for worship." "Even if Moslems do not know the link with Hinduism, it is a sin," the ruling said. Islam recognises only Christianity and Judaism as religions. Dr Fayza Khater, a professor at al-Azhar University, the seat of Islamic learning, supports the mufti's ruling because it "protects people from deviating from Islam". "People are lost and deviation is very easy. I believe the mufti made the right response," Khater says. However, the tiny community of yoga instructors and practitioners in Egypt is frustrated. Gigi, a 47-year-old Moslem yoga instructor, has been giving yoga lessons in Egypt for 15 years. She says she feels personally targeted by the fatwa and is convinced the mufti "does not know what he is talking about". However, Gigi is submissive about the ruling being yet another "natural development to what we have been witnessing," citing a ruling by the former mufti declaring a handshake between a man and a woman a sin. "Just as men and women did not stop shaking hands, I will not stop practising and teaching yoga," she says defiantly. A fatwa or religious ruling has no bearing on the legal system in Egypt. Benefits to body and mind Gigi gives yoga classes to about 50 people each week, more than half of them Egyptians. Many of her students resort to the practice as part of a healing process from an illness and Gigi is proud to be able to make a difference. In 2001,a conservative Islamic media website, published an article about the similarities between Moslem prayer postures and that of yoga and its benefits to body and mind. "Yoga movements are similar to the Moslem prayer positions. So are prayers a sin?" asks Gigi. Khater argues that instead of yoga, people should just resort to one of Islam's pillars: praying five times a day. "Prophet Mohammed (scw) used to meditate after prayers. There's no need for yoga," he said. P.S and i was thinking about opening a yoga school in Garissa  . Peace.

My friend showed it to me at school and said it was his work and I was impressed with it so I decided to share it with you but thanks any way for clearing the air and I apologize to you and everybody else for this hiccup and I would like to extend my apology to the brother who wrote it as he deserves my utmost respect and had I knew it was his I would have given his rightful props with all my heart. Once again thanks for saving my reputation if I ever had one. I owe you one mate. Peace.
  5. Magnoona, Who is the lucky guy? is he the same guy that you introduced me to at the Wedding party that we attended to on Friday night or you got yourself a new puppy? don't forget to ask him if he has a sister so that we can be even,if you know what i mean . on a serious note,in my opinion there is nothing called "Playa" because no one can play you unless you let yourself to be played on and that happens to both boys and girls, it is not only boys who do tend to play around as most of you girls believe but some girls do play around too and just because the brother packs a killer line doesn't mean he can't commit himself to you, girls you ought to give us more credit than that because at the end of the day we are all after the same thing "a good companion" a partner with a strong Iman be it wife or husband. Peace.
  6. SOMALIA:used to be the world's most intense beauty but look at it now. i have to thank a dear friend of mine named Mohamood who helped me write this. Then one day it came it came like a message like a heart attack so sudden and with a cancerous fume selling hatred proudly which is folly but with a diligent mock. in the morning,at night or a mythical tale. brief and long unjust and wrong. a blow, a sound, a deafness in glee. with warning, without and certain in doubt. a shock, unseen like caves beneath. they came, they maimed, they raped and killed. they took, looted and they stole and prayed in filth and mud we flew, we walked, we begged in shame. we ran, we pled, we shed our names. Oh I must tell you my people Our roads have seen electric hate Our women labour beneath stubborn fate Our farms produce guilty grub Our kids depend on shifty luck Our fled are fed on by desert carrion Our news is life for death is old so don't blame me for the truth i've told. see they rack bodies not grain. chop limps not trees. spend lives not wealth. seek vengeance not truth. moist pain not plants. sharpen feuds not minds. defend kinship not honour. die for the devil and not for Allah. nothing is left of my old home. goodwill is looted. religion is burnt down. kindness is shackled. justice is raped. innocence is misled. murderers hold post. the land vomits ghosts. There are... pistols with eyes. corruption and lies. suspicious newborns. flaming flowers. trusted snakes. death without brakes. bandits are leaders. rumours are the law. sedatives are faith. rapists are praised. demons dress well. infants are nailed. spirits are jailed. grudges grow tails and wings and. things aren't easy at my old home. May Allah Have Mercy on Somalia. How can i be expected to settle down and raise a family when my own people are on the move?dear God,please guide us through the right path for we are lost, show us the truth for we never knew the truth and please heal my wounded heart and fix my broken spirits and please bless me with a woman of faith for you are my last hope. Ameen. Peace.

  10. In the Chinese written language the ideograph for "Possessed" represents a half naked skinny man standing on top of a building arguing with the wind, no wonder my Grandma's best friend Mrs Shokolokobangoshay warned me when she said to me "it's only intellectually lost who argue because we all know that talk is cheap because supply exceeds the demand" so you can understand why i am not fond of arguments especially when they don't do me any good. 12. Originally posted by NGONGE: Oh, bring out the violins, wont you! This sort of waffle is what destroys marriages, saaxib. Humans are not perfect. Arguments take place, they fall out, they fight. They don’t talk to each other for days. It seriously is not some sort of Indian movie(even though they usually kiss and make up at the end of these fights). You are taking this CLANDO too seriously aren't you? I see you like to argue without even knowing what is it that you are arguing about; you got your own ideas and beliefs even if they are dodgy and I respect that but you should learn to respect other people's ideas even if you don't agree with them but here you are making a deafening noise and opting to post an autobiography instead and you are busy arm wrestling with every butterfly that flies by. You have kidnapped the whole topic and killed the fun because you intentionally put yourself in the line of fire and manipulated everybody else into directing their anger, disappointment and frustrations at you because you are the most argumentative person of the lot and it would have been stimulating to read you arguing with yourself because most of the time you end up doing just that and we are cruel enough to leave you get on with it when we know we should offer some sort of help to save you from yourself. Don't deny the fact that people are not programmed to think alike and not everybody including men like to see woman beaten up by a man so it is in everybody's best interest if you would accept that not all men think like you and not all men like to watch Indian movies and accept the fact that there are some men who would rather watch Cricket than Indian Movie. Give it a rest sxb because no one really cares whether you are a wife beater or a mule raider all we need to see is a world without a violence, now is that too much to ask? By the way if you fancy a cup of Tangawizi meet me at 4th St in EastLeigh and we can have a nice and civilized discussion over few kilos of fresh Kangeta and don't worry about the Chapa, everything will be taken care of by yours truly.

  16. Every man or a woman has his/her own principles that they believe in and whether they are right or wrong depends on which side of the fence you stand and domestic violence is unfortunately something we all know, seen or heard about and it happens everyday even in our own Somali society where you have a man brag about how he "disciplined" his wife, as far as I am concerned we should make love to our women and make them scream, mourn, groan and cry from pleasure and never from a pain that our fists caused. I absolutely believe in the saying "Real Men Don't Hit Women" and between a man and a woman there should only be "Love" and never "Fear" but "Respect" and you can talk for the rest of your life and say whatever you want but you will never make me accept and agree that you can love some one without respecting that person because this person isn't your enemy but your loving wife, your companion so why would you even consider hurting this person who has dedicated all her energy, time and chose to spend for the rest of her life in loving you and you only? For me that is just ridiculous and it is even more ridiculous to sit here and read what some guys wrote, I wonder what would their "opinions" be like if they saw their mothers getting beaten up s!lly by their fathers or their sisters beaten up by a guy like the dude above who in his own little mind believes that a wife should fear her husband? for the love of God, why and what for? He is lucky he isn't married to my sister otherwise I would have shown him what it feels like to be on the receiving end. Brothers, grow up and stop being hypocrites for all your lives and for once get off your rear ends and go outside of your untidy living rooms and look around and see how our women are losing respect for us every minute of the day because some stup!d dude believes being rude and disrespectful towards the sisters is the way to go but the fact of the matter is any woman who respects herself enough would demand to be respected and if you think I am taking you for a ride go and ask your mothers. Brothers let us not get excited about something that we don't wish to see it happen to our loved ones. I Leave You In Peace. 1 Love. P.S Thanks a Million for your time.

  19. New York - Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe, long a thorn in the side of the United States and Britain, drew applause at the United Nations on Wednesday for a scathing speech that tore into the Iraqi war allies. Mugabe blasted the two nations for holding up reform of the UN security council in "calculated" attempts at trying to preserve their influence at the United Nations. "Ironically, it is some of the same forces that since last year have been raining bombs and hellfire on innocent Iraqis, purportedly in the name of democracy," he said. "Iraq today has become a vast inferno created by blatant and completely illegal and defiant acts of aggression by the United States, Britain and their allies," said Mugabe. "We are now being coerced to accept and believe that a new political-cum-religious doctrine has arisen, namely that 'There is but one political god, George W Bush, and Tony Blair is his prophet,'" he said. 'Unprovoked, declared and undeclared sanctions' That line, a play on a well-known saying of Islamic prayer, drew applause from diplomats gathered at the UN general assembly on hand for the annual two-week debate of world leaders. Mugabe also condemned Britain's work for his ousting, including sanctions against his country. "Zimbabwe has also had to withstand unprovoked, declared and undeclared sanctions, imposed by Britain and its allies who are bent on bringing down our legitimately elected government," he said. "Mr Tony Blair, the British prime minister, has arrogantly and unashamedly announced in his parliament that his government was working with Zimbabwe's opposition party to bring about regime change," he said. "Once again, the lawless nature of this man who, along with his Washington master, believes he is God-ordained to rule our world, has shown itself," said Mugabe. I Like This Man.
  20. Tehran - An Iranian woman has taken her husband to court in a bid to secure a judicial order for him to beat her once a week instead of every night, press reports said on Wednesday. "My husband is violent amn and he beats me virtually every evening. I thought that he would stop after the birth of our child, but in fact it has got worse," the woman, identified only as Maryam J, was quoted as saying. "I don't want a divorce or compensation. My husband is violent. It is in his nature. I just want him to promise to beat me only once a week," the woman argued, reportedly causing the judge and audience to burst out into laughter. Summoned to explain himself, the husband confessed to beating up his wife "every evening". "I hit her because a wife should be afraid of her husband, and this way I oblige her to respect me," said the man, who was not identified. According to the paper, the judge has demanded that the husband give a written assurance that he will stop beating his wife altogether. And you wonder why so many Muslim marriages end up in Divorce and why our numbers are much higher compared to the Christian countries, even though that's partially understandable, as Muslims don't separate but divorce while the Christians do just that. Good Night Ladies & Gentlemen. Be kind to your wives Brothers.
  21. Mombasa_Queen i got you my sister and all i am going to say to you is "Good Luck" because i am hovio when it comes to prayers. Kwaheri.

I've got a good plan which will make us a tons of ca$h . Mutakalim You're about as sharp as the leading edge of KBS (Kenya Bus Service)
  23. Mombasa-Queen, there are some women out there who are pervert and fetish enough to grab strange man's behind everytime you pass nearby and you don't see us complaining not that i am saying you shouldn't express your disgust in this guy but maybe its your fault that this guy acted the way he did because i don't think there is any man out there in his right frame of mind that would grab a girl that he barely knows unless he knows something that we don't know. don't get me wrong here my sister but i believe you should've put him in his rightful place if you were indeed disgusted in the way he helped himself with your body but you didn't so what do you expect me to say? by the way, personally speaking i don't fancy girls who wear pants so don't worry you are very much safe from me. Peace.
