  1. Millions of dollars were were collected for the drought relief in Somaliland. That money is in the hands of the government and other groups tasked to help the people. Other than few food rations to the displaced , so far nothing has happened.

No one is digging any wells, and no one is creating jobs.

Of course those who looted the public land purse are enjoying in Hargeisa, but the poor people of Somaliland is devastated by skyrocketing inflation and huge unemployment. Thousands of youth are leaving Somaliland to MOgadishu and to the high seas.

How about for those who tasked to create  jobs or regulate the  labour market?

Here , the minister of labour  is bragging about her efforts to collect garbage from the ministry building.

She thanks the useless TV guy for broadcasting her great achievements.  Every Thursday is a cleaning day for the ministry. She could have hired a full time employee to maintain the building and collect the garbage, yet this is one of her great achievements. Nolow marwo wasiir.

Ma maqli jirtay qawda maqashii waxna ha u qaban.

In this  other clip you could see the ministry of mineral and water resources. A huge building that cost millions, yet that money could have dug hundreds of wells for the needy. This is a good example of the false image of the Hargeisa government.

Here again the false rig pictured at the office. What they need is small office to manage the resources and the crew who are tasked to dig wells and reservoirs to hold water for the rural people. Most of their job should be technical and field work, instead of fancy offices.

Now,  in this bottom clip ,  a small but effective indigenous relieve organization is doing what that ministry supposed to do with much smaller resources. Again, " Qawda maqashii waxna ha u Qaban.

Ilaahayow ummadda ka qabo kuwa aan u naxayn. You be the judge.

  2. Yonis,,

Somaalidu waxay tiraa ninka gawrac gartiisana sii.

This men were the smartest people among their generation. They were far from being " Seeraale" ama dad xoog iyo xeeled ku galay jaamacad.

Of course they have certain political weaknesses like many of us, yet, if you allow me,  I have a different take of their shortcomings.

Galayr was one of the early Somali students who got scholarship in America and graduated in 1965, over fifty years ago. Few years later he got his masters . So, he wasn't someone who jumped fences to reach great heights. In early seventies he was managing more than 10% of the Somali GDP as the head of Sugar production and other factories in Jowhar with thousands of employees.

Now, let us get to the problem Galayr facing today. He did not create KHaatumo by accident or to lift his people from chronic political disagreements. He and Siilaanyo were friends for more than fifty years. In the early eighties, he, Siilaanyo and other who called themselves reformers but could be  power hungry opportunists, tried to takeover the country through a well crafted scheme which was presented to Siyaad Barre by others. The letter was taken to Siyaad Barre by  Dr, Maxamed Aadan Sheikh, a fearless reformist. They asked Siyaad Barre to appoint a prime minister to manage the affairs of the state , and they suggested Ahmed Siilanyo as their man.

All those who advocated for reform including those who wanted to separate the Somali Revolutionary socialist party and the president were arrested in what Siyaad Barre called, " Laba kaclaynitii kacaanka". Fortunately,  for those two,  they were not on the list. Siyaad Barre called Ahmed Siilaanyo and sent him to London and asked him to dismantle the currently proclaimed SNM organization in LOndon before he could do any changes. Siilaanyo came back and told Siyaad Barre that he was unable to achieve his mission. Remember, Siilaanyo could have joined that movement while in London , and he could have escaped, yet he came backback. Through his intelligence Siyaad knew everything already and he discharged Siilaanyo from being a minister and appointed him as an adviser.

Finally, Siyaad found out about both Galayr as the main character behind the scheme, but before he  was arrested, he got a tip from Ahmed S, Daffle, and  he left the country hasty.  Galaydh commandeered a small airplane full of the salary of his agency and employees and landed in Kenya. Siilaanyo went to London after he was sacked. For two years, these two were wondering around Europe and East Africa to create something of their own. It was not until ate 1984, Siilaanyo went to Ethiopia ans started from the top.

What I am getting is that Galaydh is a very smart guy, but unfortunately he is trying to resurrect something that could have been done some 35 years ago. The man he was trying to ally himself in order to create a new entity that could eventually join the union with a northern alliance , is old and senile that need to be cared. When Galaydh was rooming in Taleex country side , it was a well planned journey to eventually join Siilaanyo and wage their know scheme to be irrelevant in the Southern led Somali politics.

Ma maqli jirtay markaan tabar hayeyna tal mahayn, Imika oon talo hayna tabar ma hayo.

That is the dilemma Galayr is facing. His old buddy Siilaanyo is gone, and the new " Madax Faluuq Jabhad'  could not understand Galyaydh or his game. THe problem is he could not let it go. He can not leave history in this way as the man who sold Khaatumo.

I would like to send a message to Mr. Galaydh that not all is lost. If he comes back to us one more time, we will forgive  him. We could build something different with stronger legs that could easily defeat the new Jabhad.

Ninku Seeraale iyo nin geel raaci waayey ma ahane jar baa loo dagay.

By the way, Hargeisa has mastered these deceptions. Someone told me that the former president of AWDal State who was celebrated and fested arounfd the world is quitely living  in Borama nad married to a girl from Gabiley. THey said " Masaajidka ayuu iasago go' Shaala xidhin oo cidna granayn ku tukadaa oo dadka iska qariyaa. Sida dadka loo gato way ku ilbaxeen.

Samatar is ten years younger than Galaydh and as Holac said, he has a comfortable life. He treated like star when he goes to Hargeisa. He has tenure in his university  and drows good  salary.

Also, he is far from "Seeraale iyo dad xeelad jaamcad ku galay" . He was top in his class in Amoud, and as an 18 year old,  he was number one in the exam to be a radio Mogadishu broadcaster. just after few years in Radion Mogadishu, he also won the top in the exam to join the BBC Somali service. By the way in 1969 or even 1972, those men like Mustaphe Xaaji, Idris Hassan Diiriye and others would read the English news and translate in Somali while reading the English text since the Somali language was not written. Today, the Radio announcers both in BBC and V OA could barely read Somali without hesitation.

He became a dean some 25 years ago in a white dominated college, which is rare in the Somali circles in those days or even now..

Markaa nimanku Seeraale ka dheer ee xaaaldan siyaasda ee Soomaalida cusub ayaey ku wareeren. Samatar by nature is more westernized, and will never feel comfortable of a system were an elder or Suldaan appoints the ministers like Hargeisa.

By the way, MMA, I heard that few days ago he was in transit in London , and he could be home in Minnesota already.

Waxaan rajaynayaa waraysigii uu Soomaaliland ku baabin lahaa. Ilayn waa xadhig lama sitaanee.

Isaga iyo Galaydh ba waan cafinaynaa waana soo dhawaynaynaa haddi mashruuci Soomaali weyn ay halkii ka wadayaan.

  3. General Caydiid  (AHN) was one of the alphabetic Somali movements who destroyed our country with SNM, SSDF, SPM, USC and others. Caydiid was the product of his time. His is actions were that of military general who was trying to defeat his adversaries in military means than a calculating politician.

I was not inside the country in 1991, but I heard the harrowing journeys people took to just leave MOgadishu. Innocent people leaving the capital to other destinations were targeted in Jowhar and mostly in the Hiiraan region. Innocent Somalis of every clan other than the USC were murdered without reason.

Since I was not there and most of the narratives are from eyewitnesses, I would leave that story to those who were there. Now, let me add my few senses on the political issue of Manifesto , General Caydiid and what followed later.

No one doubts that the " Manifesto" were civic leaders and elders who were trying to  find peaceful transfer of power from Siyaad Barre to a caretaker government, yet their actions led to the dismantling of the national army, the Mogadishu civil war and the declaration of SNM to separate from Somalia.

First and foremost , only an irredentist and illogical  Somali would have the thought  of defeating the Somali military of 1982. SSDF was a serious threat hat waged a war from Goroyo Cawl,  in the outskirts of Borama to Mudug , Galgaduud, all the way to Dolow. With the help from South Yemen, Libya and Ethiopia  they were a serious threat to the nation, yet they could not capture other than Galdogo and Balabale with help of EThiopian army. Unlike SSDf, the SNM was regional and their efforts were solely targeted to Woqooyi Galbeed and Togdheer. Despite their huge tribal support and sacrifices,  they could not capture one single village . THis is a fact.

The USC itself had entered MOgadishu without facing a major war or confrontation with Somali army, and all the subsequent wars that followed did happen after Siyaad Barre left Villa-Somalia.

THere should be probably another thread of the useless " Janhado"  who destroyed our country. Folks, there is a difference between the overthrow of a regime, defeat of a regime , change of government by violence, and just the destruction of the country. The " Jabhado" especially SNM knew that the only way t change the regime in SOmalia was to destroy the whole country from Zaylac to KIsmaayo. Even some composer prayed for that destruction.

Anyway, let me go back to the topic at hand.

Every country that was overthrown by armed rebels, those who were commanding the movement took in charge, whether that is Eritrea, Ethiopia , Uganda or Rwanda. Even the SNM commander C/raxman Tuur took in charge of Northern Somalia. Manifesto, despite its good intentions made three huge errors that hunted Somalia for generation.

1- They dismantled the Somali national army.

AHN, Dr. Cumar Cusmaan Raabe, A philospher and a man who studied the Somali region for twenty years,  had  said,  the Manifest imposed prime minister Cumar Carte Qalib has done what SNM could not do for ten years which was the dismantling of the national army.

After he was appointed prime minister by Cali Mahdi, he went to the national radio and gave an order to dismantle the national army. He said, " The Army members who are in the north must disarm and give their weapons to the SNM guerilla guys, and those in the south must surrender to the USC.  " Ciidamadii Qaranka ayuu amar ku siiyey in ay Hubka qabill ku wareejiyaan" . This action, dissolved the national army that could have protected the borders and could have used by the next government for the security of the nation. Patriotic Somalis consider Cumar Carte as the one of the most cruel men in  the history, of Somalia who single handedly brought Somalia to its knees,  yet his Son was in Mogadishu appointed as deputy premier. Corrupt southern politicians do not even know basic history.

Donald Rumsfeld, the American secretary of state has done exactly like that after the overthrow of SAddam Hussein and dismantled the strong IRaqi army that could have been used to keep the order. What followed was the civil war and the anarchy of Iraq. Unlike Somalia, when the TPLF took over the country, they went all the way to the borders, they did not change one single general or even the ministers who were serving under Mengistu. First they pacified the country and consolidated their power, and then slowly changed the military officers without tempering the  rank and file soldiers . People who have met him told me that  INa Carte Qalib bragged about his success of dismantling the army , and the difficult task of trying to rebuild the Somali National Army.

2-Manifesto was not among the warring factions.

As many of you have stated Manifesto was a civic organization that was not part of the warring faction that was fighting to replace Siyaad Barre. THey were not armed. THey were wise men who were trying to find bloodless change despite the gathering of the storm from the tribal rebels.

Siyaad Barre hated manifesto because, the main players of the organization were representatives of the old order he overthrew in 1969. In one of his  radio  attacks, Siyad Barre said, " Maanifesto , waa Gofaneyaashi Ku Naaxay Kacaaka Iyo Canaasiirtii uu Kacaanku Dartood U dhashay. Roughly means, that they were the combination of two groups, one who , the "H" were those who got rich of the revolution, the other, the Puntlanders, were those who the revolution overthrew. The problem was both Siyaad Barre and the rebels hated Manifesto equally. Rather than replaced by Manifesto, Siyaad Barre would have prefered Caydiid. While their heroic efforts to save the country from bloody war were their great achievements, they miscalculated the zeal of the leaders of the rebels to gain the  power  through the gun.

" Waxa ay isku dayeen in ay si dadban u hor jooog sadaan madaxda jabhadaha ee hamuunta u qabta hogaanka wadanka, sidoo kale waxay damcee in si xeeladaysan ay dalka dagaal lagu hoobto uga badbaadiyaan, hase yeeshee maysan ogayn in kursigani uu yahay mid dhiig badani ku daatay oon si fufud lagu hanan karyn.

A man with the barrel of the gun like Caydiid , definitely would not listen , Somali old timers trying to decide the faith of the country through dialogue.

3-Manifesto ignored USC, SNM and SSDF.

By nominating and endorsing the crowning of Ali Mandi as a president and Cumar Carte as prime minister, Manifesto not only ignored Caydiid and his rebels, but also the northern rebels who took over the north without firing a bullet in February 1991, after the Somali army abandoned and left their positions after the Cumar Carte proclamation to disarm. That decision , which gabe the power unarmed leaders like Cali Mahdi and cUmar Carte, gave the rebels of SNM to gather in Burco and proclaim secession.

Also, the government of Djibouti presided a hasty prospered coronation of Ali Mahdi while there was a war going in the south. In fact, when cali Mahdi came in Mogadishu as a president Caydiid and his men were in Afgooye, Bay and the inter river country side to face a resurgent of Siyaad Barre and other "D" block coalition who were trying to came back after they were targeted by the USC and others in MOgadishu.

Most people say that Caydiid did not had a plan to rule the country and if he had succeeded , he would have been a ruthless dictator. Also, one must consider that Caydiid faced many challenges from many sides including the Americans. When the Americans intervened, there was a basic agreement between Caydiid and Cali Mahdi, yet, despite the crimes committed against the U.N peacekeepers, you can not write an arrest warrant and bounty on the head of the man who is leading the largest rebels in the country. That was the biggest political mistake the Americans had done.

Who knows , if he was allowed to take charge, things might have been different. The Mogadishu scene disintegrated after his death, and Ethiopia never dared to enter Somalia while Caydiid was there. When Clinton changed the AMerican policy and decided to make a deal, Caydiid went to Addis, and when Meles greated him i his office , he said, " If Africa had lions like you the colonials would never had come to Africa".

I consider Caydiid and C.laahi Yusuf as tough men who had faced huge obstacles in life, and when I compare them with today's leaders they the toughest men Somalia had produced. No wonder, after Siyaad Baree took  over with his coup in 1969, Caydiid and C/laahi Yusuf were the first people he put in jail.

In fact,  Djibouti has created many problems in Somalia for the last 27 years. In 1999, then president Cigaal went to Nairobi and met many of his old comrades there. They asked him to convene some kind of a gathering to reconcile the country and he promised to do something. He met Mohamed Abshir In Hargeisa and things were going in the right direction. Then suddenly Cumar Geelle a novice gangster who took over from his uncle a year earlier wanted to increase his stature among Somalis and  took over the project and decided to create a new formula which we call today 4.5. He told C/laahi Yusuf, Cigaal and others who running a functioning governments,  to leave that and come as representatives of their tribes. We are still sorting out the monster created by Gelle, and opportunists like Galayr, C/qasim and C/raxman Baadiyow., the later wasn't interested in power , but was one of civic leaders consulted by Cumar Geelle.

History would have judged Caydiid and many others, if good things came after them, but , with likes of Shariif Ahmed, Al-Shabab and what followed, they could be judged differently than 1991.

I wish I would be sitting in Goobweyn or some Somali valley and writing my few senses without the interception of the rat race here in good old Canada.

    • Thanks 1

  4. This is the first step to exercise Somali sovereignty throughout the REpublic. Anyone can  claims an autonomous enclave, yet that  does not give them authority over the air space of the Somali territory.

People must understand that it was the instability of Southern Somalia that emboldened the politicians  in Somaliland. If responsible government took charge of Mogadishu in the nineties, there would never have been this useless debate.  Somaliland is flooded with foreign aid which all targeted  in one single city called HArgeisa, if hundred of millions were poured in Baidoa or KIsmaayo the result could have been even better.

Now, somewhat weak but responsible government has taken root in MOgadishu , and it must exercise full sovereignty over the Somali air space. Technical people could be based in HArgeisa or other places, but the decision must be in the hands of Somali authority. The reason the Turkish agreement was entered was the secessionists signed a memorandum of understanding to start the process of unity.

Unless they renounce the secession they should never be allowed to enter any agreements, period. They have been fooling Southern presidents for too long.

Nin yahow maxaa kugu dacay ? respect Somalis ? How is respecting us when he clearly came into this forum to inflame tensions between us and the Oromos. How is he respecting when he tried to pass himself off as Somali. Not once has he criticized the brutal TPLF thugs orchestrating all these violence. That should have been a give away.

    Anoo Kale,

You are right , he was pushing his Tigre Agenda , and we found out who he was. At the same time , we should not fear to engage those who come here and play by the rules.

We are proud Somalis an we should not fear no one. WE must also have tough Somalis like you guys , but also, we should not push out other Somalis  to the Hyenas .

  6. OLd, Obsever,

    My apologies.

On second thought , as long as the person respects Islam and Somalis in general we must engage and discuss if he brings good topics.

I did not like the constant copy and paste of his Oromo bias, but he at least he respects Somalis, and our faith, and that is enough for me.  So,  we should accept and welcome his  presence.

    Ano Kale,

Our friend Holac is the major reason I am in this forum. He is a genuine and a good Somali. He keeps most of us inline. His moderating voice and standing up to truth, justice, and open debate is welcome.

without Diverse opinion this place could became " Xidigta October".

Holac  does not need to state his clan affiliation. No one likes beating the clan thing. It is an ugly thing.  I  even feel bad sometimes When I push back  and point fingers to  the clan hegemony of SNM, because  I  hate fighting for my clannish reasons.

As the banner says, let us keep this place to be the most respected Somali discussion place.

Holac, Saaxiib we love you around here.

Among the killers were a man called Cawar Xareed who is also those who killed people between Dilla _Borama in 2009. He is in Jail today, but Hargeisa refused to bring him in the court for fear that he may implicate Muuse Biixi, former Siilnaayo speaker, Abiib Timacad and others. By the way , you committed this murder just 7 years ago.

  9. Mr. Old Observer,

WE had Enough of your anti Oromo propaganda .

We SOmalis want to have peace with our Oromo brothers. Please take your propaganda somewhere else.

The four million Tigray can not dominate the people of Ethiopia. You can not create war and anarchy among our Oromo brothers. By reading carefully some of your posts, I realized that you are A Tigray propagandist who was trying to sow discord among us.

If you are Soomaali please write in Somali, if not, We do not like your pro-Tigray propaganda here.  Take it somewhere else.

    • Haha - That was funny. You made me laugh! 1

. We might not like the Egyptian dictator, but we love our " Masaari" brothers. Mr. OLd O, I detect from your post that for you everything revolves about " Egypt hate"  like most Tigray guys. You Talk about a not existent war between Egypt and Yemen and old sort of things. We Somalis know our adversaries and our enemies.

    • Thanks 2

  11. As I stated early , you are very clever. The reason Rayaale got a vote from Burco was he was supported by the West Burco community in Togdheer region. . If you go through clan lenses , Siilaanyo got over 95 % of his clan the East Burco clan while Rayaale got only 73% of his clan, and the rest voted for Siilaanyo. The Awdalites are naive people who do not understand the ruthless clan based Hargeisa politicians.

Muuse Biixi got over 90% og H.A vote. While RAyaale got only 73% of AWdal that is the comparison I am talking about. Very few people from the  Siilaanyo clan voted to Rayaale.

Finally, do not start with me about the terrorist SNM who murdered innocent people in Borama, Dilla and between. We have the names of those whom you murdered,  even some of them  inside  Mosques.. WE even have the names of those who murdered by Muuse Biixi himself or his direct orders.

    Mujaahidka ayaad malaha run mooday.

Ninyahow warka SNM ma rabo e wakhtiga ha iga luminin.

  12. Amigo,

You telling me a good news Saaxiib.

If a sitting president who was running for re-election got only 73% of the vote from his home base and province, that shows how the people of AWdal were not tribal. Compare that how much Ahmed Siilaanyo gt in his home province of Togdheer, which was 95%. THat is a fact.

in this election, Muuse Biixi probably got over 90% of the vote from his clan casted.

Adigii baa isku markhaati furay e sow ma aragtid.

The reason I use SNM is that they are acting like a "jabhad"

  13. I agree. The Amhara and the Tigray are culturally very close, and the hate comes because of the dismantling of centuries old system. One thing I know about Amhara is they are the most sophisticated among all the ethnic groups of Ethiopia. Unlike the Oromo or the Somali nomad, they never raise their voice . THey seem to be very patient and deliberate.  While they may have different political or interest in their aspirations, they are not tribal., and people without the constraints of tribalism  could reach higher goals than tribal society. The biggest obstacle for Amhara is they are hated by everyone , and no one want them to be in power in the near term.

The biggest advantage the TPLF has is they are united under one single leader, and they seem to be the great equalizer that keeps the ship together at the moment .Last month they debated one month among them and  finally elected one leader.

As you stated the Somali region is huge in size and influence if they play their cards better. WE need  the Somali party to create a diverse group of leaders who could deliberate and find consensus among them. Also Cabdi Illey must create and nurture Somali federal leaders who oversee their interest at the federal level. At the end we all want to survive and not to  be a victim of others or our own mistakes.

  14. It is a good discussion.

Great nations and people will always trace their ancestors history and achievements to reach higher goals. That is why those of us who trace their history through the modern icon of Somali nationalism , the great Darwiish, and historical figures like Ahmed Gurey , would never accept a weak and divided Somalia. Despite  it's dysfunction and  autocracy, many of us are even nostalgic of the Somalia we lost thirty yeargo.

I agree. The biggest obstacle to peaceful and harmony in the middle east is the Saudis. I read that Turkey and Iran had agreed to discourage and eliminate the useless sectarian  conflict fueled by the gulf. Today, the biggest threat to the Muslim world is the sectarian conflict between the Sunnis and the Shias, and if these nations find solution to this  menace , expect good things to happen.

I hope the Houthis will accept a cease fire and form a government with the Mansour Haddi group. The problem is the Saudis will not allow him to enter any negotiations. The Yemenis are tough and resilient people who unlike the artificial countries of the gulf had a couple  thousand years old history. The Southern Yemenis could be defeated easily if Sana becomes stable. If Aden, one of the oldest ports in the world, port Sudan, port SAid in Egypt, Berbera, Mogadishu, and Bosaso become commercial hubs for trade around the region with over two hundred million people trading in goods, energy, livestock and agricultural products,  there will be a boom in this region.  the gulf nations like UAE will eat their sand. They could be reduced just  like another  nightclub or Las Vegas style casino country where the rich Arabs go for party. I do believe that their efforts to destabilize the region is partly  for business interest..

Turkey is entering to these huge nations  like Sudan with untapped  resources that needs to be developed. Sudan was decimated by sanctions and other issues like the South Sudan issue for twenty years. They have a huge land that can be farmed and other mineral resources. With strategic alliances with Turkey, they might eve check the Egyptian dictator SISi and slow down the NIle water.

Turkey is also building connections with Serbia as you mentioned because of Albania and even Bosnia -Herzegovina,  who despite the cultural connections , decided to vote against Turkey. In the third quarter of 2017,  the Turkish economy grew 11%, an unprecedented growth in any economy.  Last year after the failed coup of 2016,  I said ,  if Turkey survives 2017 without major tremors from Syria, they will be a power that can not be stopped  anymore like India, China or Russia.

Thanks to Trump there will a great realignment of the international order that ruled the world since the second world war.

The proxy war by Abdii Ille and #Liyupolice on behalf of TPLF is escalating. The number of Oromo civilians killed by a special Somali region militia is more than 400 so far. The war has continued in East and West Hararge, Bale, Gujii and Borena zones of the Oromia regional state.

It is to be noted that Oromo and Somali share long boundary in the eastern lowlands starting from Djibouti down to Moyale (Ethio-Kenyan) boarder. 51 Numerous districts and kebeles are disputed between the Somali, Oromiya, and Afar regions. A referendum was conducted on the status of over 400 kebeles along the Somali-Oromiya border in October 2004, which Somalis lost most of these disputed land to the neighboring Oromiya state.

Recently after #OromoProtests ; The TPL F and Somali regional state have concluded a marriage contract with the following agreement:

    Parties to the contract:
    1. Somali regional state led by Abdii Ely
    2. TPLF (X- guerrilla fighters Who are leading EPRDF, Ethiopia)

    Terms of the contract:
    A. The Somali regional state shall provide a friendship and political Support to TPLF
    B. The Somali regional State is at liberty to commit ethnic cleansing against Oromo. In these raid can use the 45,000 army of Liyu police trained by the British government.
    C. TPLF would just cover the humanitarian crisis from the international community disguising it as inter clan conflict.

    The outcome of the contract:
The Somali regional state will take the 400 Kebele (land ) from Oromo regional state. That would be reward fir the sacrifices of #Liyupolice.
TPLF will revenge the Oromo people. For uprising in the rebel against it is government.
Moreover it will divert attention from the fundamental quest of the Oromo people.

The hidden agenda of TPL F:

To divert the attention of the Oromo people from protest.
To create a lasting conflict between the Oromo and the Somali population.
To charge some of the leadership in the Oromia regional state and Somali regional state in the guise of inciting this conflict.

    The truth is:
The TPLF don't care whether the Somali take the land of Oromo or Oromo take land of Somalis. Their interest lies in the prolonged conflict between the two ethnic groups. So they are sacrificing thousands of innocent lives for this political gamble.

    May peace prevail!
