  1. May Allah guide us all. This is cajib and funny at the same time.
  2. There is a link between poverty and bad governance, poverty and poor education. Having a large family when you are poor is a bad decision but only in a failed society do large families equal starvation and death. Let poor people enjoy the only free thing, sex.
  3. Horta how many atheists are in this forum, atheists this atheists that, acudubillah. Why not tackle poverty first instead of questioning one's right to reproduction.
  4. Good to see a woman on TV who dresses like majority of women in Egypt.
  5. Isra lol I always dread the question "how did you guys meet" from my parents. They dont know I met him online, only close friends know because people assume you are desperate and my parents would not understand and be frightened that i have met a "stranger" online. So I told them we met through friends. They were against it initially because he is not Somali but that was seven years ago and now they think different
  6. The naive side of me would have said the same thing but I cant help but be sceptical. Maybe he chose Somalis because some of our girls are willing to marry without family involvement or go against their families wishes compared to other Muslims Communites or because we are Africans and he feels he can relate to us. Everyone has choice but it is not smart to hand your details in the masjid to a stranger. Those girls are usually the ones impressed with outer look of the brother (the beard and the short thobe) and soon are married. I am generalising here but that is because I have seen too many marriages fail because of this. The wadaad was wrong in the first place to hand him the mic. Jamaican men and white female converts do not find it difficult to get married at all in the UK.
  7. Thanks Isra but let us not throw the word racist around, the girls gave their numbers without knowing the profile of the brother and the wadaad as a person of responsiblity and using common sense did the right thing. These rushed quick marriages has led to too many divorces and not because the person is ajnabi.
  8. Lol why is the word st***d censored?
  9. What the wadaads did is actually wise, marrying someone you dont know especially who is not from your community is simply ******.
  10. My husband and I met on a singles website, we met after a few email exchanges, got married a year later and the rest is history. I dont find it odd.

Stereotyping a stigmatised community is not the way to go. I wouldnt say violence towards somali women is common or we have children for the sole purpose of benefits, poor educational levels and careless attitude towards contraception is the problem.
  12. What is the name of the masjid, it looks clean and beautiful.
  13. I have not come across a case of forced marriage involving a 16 year old. They went back home, so why would the mother force her to get married? None of the dhaqan celis girls I knew were forced to get married, after a few years of living back home they chose to get married and returned back to UK with a failed marriage behind them. The hiding part is so exxagerated, Somalis are not Pakistanis, her mother is not going to harm her. I would not refer to a relative I did not know as uncle, out of respect yes, but he is actually not her uncle. Dont get me started on the hijab part, a muslim woman's story is never complete without the hijab.
  14. Why should Zamzam iyo Maxamed be expected to carry the false pride of Somalis? I hope their application is successful if this story is true.
  15. She has a personality, the camera loves her and she is enjoying all the attention. I hope she is not harmed when she returns home.
  16. They look happy and healthy, the war has robbed my childhood and I will always feel like a foreigner living in the UK or any other country. Inshallah one day I will go back to live in my city Xamar.
