UPDATE: i've managed to secure 4 small tables and 6 executive chairs (used). these will be used by the admin staff after the necessary repairs and restorations are completed. i will store these in my house until we've secured premises. i've also made further enquiries about the premises for the library (pictured in page 2 of this thread). its not good news, i'm afraid. they are demanding $500/per month. this is not within our budget. i'm looking at other options within the same area. there are few new buildings in the area but i'd much prefer the original building for the huge potential and space it offers. i've also sent two another people to make further enquiries to the owner again but we shall see how it goes. the library will be split into 3 different sections - Somali, English and Arabic (Islamic). the first batch of English books has been secured (500 books or 25 boxes). i've sent speculative emails to somalis who might be able to help to source the Somali and Arabic books. if you can help, please PM me with the subject heading as :Library also i'm looking to set up a citizen advice bureau and deliver seminars and workshops on civil education, community participation projects and various civic matters..... etc. we're also looking to organise fortnightly book readings with acclaimed authors. maybe also organise a reading club/poetry nights etc...... plenty more. i'll post the proposal soon ee sida uula soco.... keep y'all updated.
