1. @Mooge said: it would save them untimely death too. lol. people are dying in Hajj like sheep niyoow. lol. African, including Somali, Hajjis, are dangerous. they caused the stampede at Mina that reportedly killed over 800 people. lol.
2. im sure most of you are already familiar with this fascinating story. four members of Xidigaha Geeska, locally known these days as Xidigaha Gooska, have been arrested upon returning to Hargeisa after traveling to Mogadishu for performance. apparently they've been arrested because they are SL Govt workers and they didn't seek permission to leave for Xamar. although they deny being govt employees. their manager and fans are saying the group has the right to travel freely because music has borders. Jamal Ali Hussein is saying they have the right to travel freely as per the Turkish sponsored talks between SL and Somalia, as it explicitly provides for the free movement of people between these regions. this entire incident is funny.
3. maybe she exchanged her services for entry and now claiming rape for entry to Australia? in the Sahara, Libya and the tahrib route, this is a regular occurrence.
4. @wyre said: Do we still have Oba hiloolow, chimera and Alpha blondy here? Where is Troll, Shaah iyo sheeko? does it exist anymore? waar Wyre, you and blue are getting it on, ma istidh?
5. reception for new Somalia Ambassador to Kenya Jamal Hussein. Kenyatta has a patronising look to him and is genuinely surprised that Somalia have appointed a court jester as an Ambassador. on the other hand, we could infer Jamal's reasons for dressing like this was an attempt to resist/contest Kenya's domination in Somalia - presenting a reinvigorated Somalia with a new distinct identity. or maybe he's put these hajj garments on to worship Kenyatta. hard to say, really. my own opinion is he shouldn't have worn this. what do you guys think?
6. @Mooge said: lol. that video is depressing niyoow. the whole of somaliland is taken over by Oromos. walahi niyoow the face of somaliland is slowly changing. kids are leaving, oromos are coming. lol. how comes they're not interested in staying and working in Puntland?
7. @Che -Guevara said: The Oromo are politically docile even great numbers,at least for now, but you cannot blame for seeking better lives and for Somalis not working at all. Why work when someone in the Qurbaha is sending money. I really don't think they have a plan, but maybe the Woyanes, who are grabbing everything before the shit hits the roof or Amharas who dream of bygone empire, do. I don't see any Somali entity doing anything. It is more important to fight over kursi. perhaps. but inaction wa haalis. weynu eegi how things pan out. as for the kursi, those who are interested ought to concentrate their enegies on creating a recognisable threat, some else to point the finger at. this sort of thing works.
8. @Tallaabo said: How do you know she is a disbeliever? Do disbelievers have recognisable features? yeah of course they do. her name should've been deeqa Dirir or something. she ought to visit her ancestoral land and get in touch with her father's clan. Tallabo, please don't insult our intelligence. you have to be selective about the causes you pursue. long time sxb. maxaa iga dambeyey?
9. @Che -Guevara said: Teach them Somali and marry few of their girls, you are to good then. hi Che, they speak very good Af-Somali. we share the same linguistic language group. they already know Af-Somali even before coming here. their integration is very good. although you could usually tell the difference between who's an orom or who's ethnically Somali. they've been here for so long that 2nd generations oromos have become more or less Somali. their loose culture provides for achieving assimilation easily. these people have a historical claim to our territories because for it them its part of Greater Oromia - in other words, for them the free movement of people is borderless. over-populating ethnic Somali settled land is a long term strategy of theirs. they're generally pleasant people and i've personally encountered no problems with them. they are excellent workers, too. they do all sorts of jobs - from house security, cleaners, cooks and gardeners etc. these jobs ought to be reserved for ethnic Somalis but these ethnic Somalis demand too much money, where the orom can work for very little. the current debate surrounding employment is: ma shaqo xumo mise shaqo la'aan? of course there are jobs but when the average salary for those who work is less than $150 and basic livelihood expenses (rent, food, amenities etc) for an average family is $350+, you could understand why ethnic Somalis do not want to work for $50 per month. the oromos could live on this, you wonder how sometimes. the majority look well feed. its almost like the inflation doesn't affect them, they're probably operating their own black economy within the the economy - not paying taxes. the oromos remit their money to their country, hardly spending anything. they are draining us, we gain little in return. the Government must register them immediately. no one quite knows just how many oromos live here.
10. the bomber hails from Boroma, Somaliland. he's a Somalilander from the German city of Bonn. i heard this on VOA and BBC Somali service. young guy, too. sad he was driven by evil. laakin, it should be pointed out that most bombers are reer Somalia. this was an anomaly. we condemn this deadly attack against Somalia. we wish nothing but peace and stability for Somalia.
11. the huge influx of Oromos is worrying. every year they are increasing. something ought to be done before its gets out of control. i could foresee an Oromo revolt very soon. they are even buying land these days. they shouldnt be allowed to own land. just recently 66 oromos carrying deadly diseases like Polio and leprosy were forcibly removed from Boroma. All Somalis are vaccinated against these ancient diseases, yet its coming back because of the porous borders.
12. @Apophis said: Still paying Oromo hookers for domestic duties/sex? lol. salaam to you too. long time haye, maxa cusub?
13. RAMADAN KARIIM everybody. may it be a month of contemplation and reflection for all of us. Ameen.
14. the article is little sexed up balse Somali men are useless for the most part. just yesterday, my friend was saying, after seeing a project on early marriages on TV, that it should be lowered even more. he continued...''women were made to bear children, every cycle missed, is a wasted opportunity''. this is the mindset here. the solutions to better our society is within us. outsiders should not dictate.
15. what's a name when Rachel Dolezal has been pretending to be black for all these years.
16. they're just covering their hair. that they wear tight lycra gear has gone completely unnoticed, miyaa?
17. funny article. these attention fiends aren't really impressing anyone, least of all the white academic establishment.
18. 4 of my facebook 'friends' like this page. i wonder if they know that i regularly post on SOL. actually 2 of them don't probably know what the site is. they also follow 'nolosha cusub' - somali christian pages.
19. happy 13th anniversary SOL. almost 8 yrs for me. that's madness.
20. @Nin-Yaaban said: Salaan sare AB, long time niyow. Nolasha iiga waran sxb? You still in Hargeisa or u are back in London? I might be coming to London in Summer '16, so if u are there, lemme know. Sxbkay, its been a long time, ruunti. everything is brilliant, mashallah. how are things with you? things have been a little dramatic recently but that's the nature of life here in the abyss. still in Hargeisa, unfortunately. i was meant to be going on holiday to London but that's now looking unlikely. its seems, we'll miss each other, although, i wouldn't have been of any use to you, considering the length of time i've been away. apparently, its changed so much. what's on your programme? there's a lot to do in London. im sure you'll have an amazing time.
21. @BusDriver said: I'm so much bothered that this imposter "king" of Somalia ( that's what he is saying to these clueless people) is wearing another Man's attire..we are not Arabs agreed. he should wear some hiddo iyo dhaqan clothes. his entire dress looks ridiculous.
22. @Nin-Yaaban said: LooL so there is now Boqor Qabiil? Every Qabiil has their own King? LooL maybe I should nominate myself for my Qabiils Boqor. Boqorka Reer Xamarka iyo Sacad HG here on SoL. LOL@ Nin Yaban, salaan sare sxb, inaba caadi maatihid. its becoming like Game of Thrones walle. House Monkey of Berbera for me. lol
