  1. @OodweyneI have an open bet with you about Somaliland and its future. Previously I argued that the sacred union where Somaliland leads the rest is the only way out of this unproductive quagmire. You being the hardcore secessionist you profess to be, you disagreed with me, off course. Fast forward to today's events, it is an undeniable fact that Somaliland's back is against the wall as it slowly isolates itself and adjusts to new realities and new alliances.

What is your philosophical take on this? I would love to hear Galbeedi's take on this as well.

  2. Tallaabo, I couldn't agree with you more. We need to eliminate the infatuation with being President. Many of our problems originated from clannish ego and who rules whom. Having said that, before we accept such model, generations of Somalis must be given high level education. We have a high percentage of cawaans leading the Somalis.

(CNN)The CIA has concluded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, despite the Saudi government's denials that the de facto ruler was involved, according to a senior US official.

The senior US official told CNN on Friday the conclusion is based on a recording provided by the Turkish government and other evidence, including American intelligence.

Investigators also believe an operation such as the one that ended in Khashoggi's death would not have happened without bin Salman's knowledge given his control of the government, the senior US official said.

Abiy Ahmed is a manipulative spineless sycophant who is leading Ethiopia into destructive confrontations with Tigrians, Afars, Somalis, et cetera.  I urge political and military leaders to learn from the experience of leaders around the world in history how to lead a nascent democracy as is the case in Ethiopia.

Tigrayans are tough people. If I had to make a guess, I would say Abiy will end up the loser. No matter how much Abiy aligns himself with the Amharas, a bigger conflict between Amhara and Oromos is inevitable. Eventually, the last group standing will be the Tigrayans.

  5. I fully believe Madoobe is more likely to survive this uprising from Gedo triggered by Farmaajo. Just like Gaas, his subclan is fully behind the Jubaland project and he has the muscle of the Kikuya next door. Madoobe may have no influence in Gedo (He never did), but if he keeps his alliance with the Harti wing of Kismayo populace, and maintains close ties with his Kikuya friends across the border, it will be very hard to unseat the dark man.
