  1. Rugby is a tougher sport compared with American style football no doubt about that.
  2. We can’t just state the obvious or stereotypical reasons as to why women stay in abusive relationships. There must be other influencing factors that are unique in their own way or rather unique to each case. Perhaps they’re taught or perhaps both individuals grew up in an abusive relationship, and they might think those sort of behaviours are perfectly normal. Or maybe its just tough love.
  3. Surely an interesting read on what our ideal role in a marriage is – wonderful advice. Although many men think the ideal way of getting to a women’s heart is through wealth clearly in this case that scored the lowest ---- rather interesting.
  4. Did this air on PBS? I seen this clip once about a Somali documentary, people in Seatle protesting cuz the FBI ravaged a halaal shop - one guy was like 'do you think i have the time to be a terrorist, i can't even pay my rent' and some next broad was like 'we just want the american dream' - the clip was intense.
  5. I think the separatist camp needs a long break, if you think about it they just seem to be blowing hot air. Puntland supports the new government and when Xamar jumps on the bandwagon, of course Puntland will join. Regardless of procedurally advocated separation and finger point in the naming and shaming of actions in certain regions of Somalia, united Somalia will be achieved in the long run, even if it takes a hundred years. Sooner or later the indoctrinators of war, qabil cleansing, and separation will die knowing that their irrational propaganda did not materialized. A united Somalia means all regions.
  6. The strangest thing is that many young Somalis are resorting to the fine art of Qat addiction. Who would have thought, they’re no longer interested in weed, but instead Qat, of course they still sip on the regular but who would have thought Qat. Question: Anyone ever made Qat tea? I did once after studying the whole night, I heard rumors that Qat keeps you up, instead of coffee I resorted to Qat tea, and that was the strangest morning I’ve ever had. WARNING // DON’T CHEW AND DRIVE
  7. Foxy I’m not saying that one shouldn’t look at it, but one shouldn’t believe in it, so that they govern their life based on predictions assigned by someone else.
  8. The city is not hiring somali youth as police officers because they claim theyre gang related. Actually the city wants to hire more Somali policemen, the Somali community is working with the police to recruit young Somalis. There was a Somali play in Ottawa and the chief or deputy chief of police was in it wearing macawees and etc. However, I have heard that there’s one guy who works the eat, and I’m sure Goonle you’ve heard of him, he abuses Somali old ladies, he know they’ve only got G-1 Class licence and he harasses them, he even tells them I’ve heard that he doesn’t speak Somali when they speak to him. Speaking of the G-Unit squad, my license got suspended recently and its costing me lotta money for nothing big and I got pulled over in that area.
  9. The interesting thing about these descriptions of ones personalities and traits based on their birth date is really fascinating. Reading about these horoscopes and Zodiac stuff I come to believe that they all say generic things them, that we can easily believe about ourselves after quickly googling. How can generic descriptions that can apply to anyone at any given situation be taken so seriously? Zeph You would have sent that ipod a bit too early, but I'm glad you remembered, its the end of the month, don't forget it. Or you can go with my other birthday, the legal one that’s on my passport cuz my dad couldn’t remember my birthday, or from what I hear all Somalis have their birth dates stated as January when they arrived in the west – you can also celebrate that with me.
  10. ^^^^^^^^^ LOL @ Vigro, but for your own reference, move one sign up. Zeph I think we can take aim at each other somewhere else
  11. Foxy Guess I’m gonna have to take you off the list. Zeph No kidding, do you see me making a spectacle of the fact that I may have invented something remotely interesting or new, do u see me holding the forms for the intellectual property rights registration. Foxy This sign business is really boring and useless – BTW, its shirk because only Allah knows what’s going to happen in your life, and associating some other powers like the stars, something that he had created, its actually believing in the power of something else. There are many things to be controversial about, or indulge in for the sake of entertainment and amusement, but this Zodiac business is not one of them.
  12. The only people that can seriously cause problems are West Indians like Jamaicans and Haïtians. Sky why do say that? Other groups are equally capable of destroying and doing damage to others. In Ottawa the AB crew, Asian Blood have done damage against Somalis - there are also white gangs especially from the French side of the city that can do damage.
  13. That area is a popular hang out spot for Somalis on Sunday evenings – they might have been just hanging out, lounging. Fidel – people go clubbing to hang out with friends and listen to music. It’s not really that bad of a place, do you listen to music in your home? Do you look at girls on the street? It’s no different really. Nonetheless, it is a sad event, and I wish their families all the best.

  15. Police have confirmed the city’s latest murder victims were the most tragic kind – they appear to have been completely innocent. When 23-year-old Loyan Mohamed Ahmed and 19-year-old Ali Mohamud Ali left the Phoenix Nightclub on Sherbourne St. at 4am Monday morning, they had no idea they’d never make it home. At least 6 or 7 people were winding down the night talking on the northwest corner of Maitland and Homewood Ave., when a man suddenly walked straight toward them from out of the gloom, pulled a gun and opened fire. He never said a word to anyone but sprayed the area with random and fatal bullets. By the time the smoke cleared, a man lay dead at the scene, another succumbed in hospital and a 20-year-old suffered a wound to his leg. The assailant fled into the night. An autopsy conducted Tuesday shows Ali was killed by a gunshot wound to the head. And despite the recent spree of firearm-related violence in the city, police are sure this wasn't gang related, and remain baffled by the motive for this senseless and brutal crime. "We're gathering information on what may have taken place in the club and what took place on the street to see if we can identify a motive for that shooting," outlines Chief Bill Blair. "Quite often it's not much of a motive. Quite often it's a dispute. Somebody was disrespected. Somebody felt slighted by something that was said or even a look. Hard for those of us who perhaps lead more rationale lives to understand how that could motivate gunplay." The Chief is pledging his force will find justice for the victims. And while they’re armed with good intentions, they’ve now armed you with something else – information. They’re hoping the release of a description of the suspect will get their phones ringing. The wanted man is believed to be: * Black, * 20s, * 5'10"−6', * 150−160 lbs., * Black braids, * Goatee. He was wearing blue jeans, a black T−shirt, and a blue do−rag from which his braids extended. If he sounds familiar, police are hoping you won’t remain silent. Call (416) 808-7400 if you can put a name to the killer. Source: Pulse 24 Toronto has had 20 shootings in the last 2 weeks and five murders, even a four year old was injured in of the shootings.
  16. *** Await these fools with kitchen knives, hammers and baseball bats. The block has a lot of Somalis living in it, and they’re usually known to be tough, I can’t believe this happened, and the sad thing is that it’s likely to happen again. But if it happens again, I am hoping that the nieghbourhood kids will be present to handle them.
  17. I’m assuming that we can say random things here….. it’ll only contribute to the mandate of this post to have it as long as possible right? Here’s a suggestion, people should post random thoughts in their heads… here’s mine The goldfish ate six scissors and gave birth to an underwater cyborg conveniently named blade.
  18. They’d probably have a show called Survivor: Eating Qat in Somalia, the winner gets a lifetime supply of Qat. They would last more than 3 days, I’ve heard Qat tales, people lasting days. Has anyone ever overdosed from Qat?
  19. I have lotta respect for women/girls who wear the hijab, it takes lotta courage especially in today’s political climate, and I don’t think its fair to point and make fun of hijab wearing sistas.
  20. They were Chinese and White kids who attacked the hood, they attacked one particular house, they broke in from the back – they must have had beef with one of the kids from the hood.
  21. At least he died doing what he loved, as for me I’d probably die beside a Jawaan of odkac watching all five seasons of the Sopranos, of course after praying salaat subax.
  22. Women who are in abusive relationships are often trapped by many things, inexperience in the real world, psychological issues – she may think she can’t function in the real world – her need to produce children are not for the sake of loving the abuser, but rather building human assets because she lacks the conventional mechanisms of gaining capital, thus children are seen as assets and money making tools, i.e. investments [although this might only apply to 3 world families, and Somali families in the Diaspora] That is why you see many women divorcing their husbands after they are no longer able to reproduce, and the husbands ‘supporter’ position is taken over by the children.
  23. She should stick to what she knows best [Wink] , she knows what i mean lol. Get a room already.
