    Now given that this is over and Shariif Hassan has lost. What about the Presidency? I have a feeling that Shariif Ahmed is going lose too, he doesn't look strong or confident even the H-block aren't very fond of him, also I don't think there is a real strong candidate from that block, so could this contest be between Farmaajo and Abdiwali? I think Farmaajo has a good chance specially after this outcome.

     

    Congrats to Jawahir but we hoped a different result. The two top positions still remain at he hands of the same usual clans - not so the change Somali was hopping for.

    XX, with all due respect, as Somalis I don't think we should accuse each other of being clanists, although some of us are worse than others, we are all clanists. Not that, I am but I mean in general.

     

    Faroole and Abdi/Wali must be stopped by any means but we shouldn't accuse them of loving their clans, for god's sake they invented the whole clan thing and taught us all in the south, I'm talking about the reer Mudug's and those from North of Mogadishu.

    Farmaajo is wasting his time and will not get anywhere, Galayr has every right to run and is doing this because of his personal gain not for any clan, Farmaajo should get a life and forget about the clan cancer and domination that crippled our community for far too long.

     

    its never going to work as any Somali politician will never blink a second to give up what he can achieve for his person and think about general clan pride. No one is going to give up the speaker post because supposedly the greater clan might lose Presidecy/PM/ United Nations seat or what have you, yeah you can forget about that seat. No one cares.

    I think this is Americanism at play, she's not said anything incriminating that the US admin did not know about is not certainly saying it because of her convictions and love for democracy or human rights.

     

    Its all about China, yes, its about China being in Africa which is inline with Mrs Clinton's remarks last month in her visit to Africa.

    ^Indeed, he is a good guy and I wish him luck though I doubt the two clans that believe its their god given right will let him.

     

    I think he should align himself with Shariif Hassan and between them one must make sure to get at least one of the two top posts. If they combine all their respective clans votes and do massive compaigning they can get the Presidency or at least pressure another person into landing the PM post. Workable strategy.

    This is the first time in Somali history, that members of Somaliland and Bay/Bakool clans are running for Somali Presidency. Surely history is being made in Mogadishu this year, 2012 elections. Its a most welcome prospect.

     

    Also, its the first time that members of D-block are fighting toe-and-nail against each other for the post of the speaker of the parliament, history has been made here.

     

     

    However, I doubt all this is going to materialize, in the end I think the top two posts will go to the same usual suspect clans while the speaker will be occupied by Baidoa clan. That's my prediction, nothing will change.

    I don't see Prof. Galayr, Farmaajo or Abdikarin in the list? How can Galayr become a speaker when he's not even in the list??

     

    Also it seems Shariif Ahmed did not only lose his friend's and the warlords he campaigned for but his own seat.

     

    I think Shariif Sakiin played this one very well, it will ultimately be a contest between him and A/Wali and which he will win in the end.

     

    Shariif Sakiin President on Sunday ayaa kadhacaysa and one of his stooges a speaker, if A/Wali is lucky gets a PM waa Sakiin unaxariisto.

    There is nothing with this and it has nothing to do with Reer Baadiyo or Magaalnimo. Its just that some people have phobia of using certain technology. There are people in the west that have never used lifts, other hate heights and there those that have never traveled via Airline.
