  1. Yes, for real Zack. Can you translate what that means for me, or am I being to forward for your taste? I do not know what SSC means in english or who they represent?
  2. Thanks Liibaan. Can you tell me what SCC stands for (english) or Somali, and who they represent? Also, and forgive me for saying this, but anytime armed troops or soldiers in the employ of a govt leaves or "Desserts", would be considered a treasonous act and punishable by death by way of firing squad in wartime, which seems to be very convenient and common both in Somalia. Could you comment more on these treacherous and treasonous acts? Is this Somali culture to be this way, a traitor in some regards or freedom fighter in another? And why would such a large group, all at once once, do such a thing?

  4. I think you are both wrong. Cowke seems to think becoming his own WarLord by way of ethnic cleansing of Clans will work (very bloody), while our disillusioned Hales thinks Wahabi-ism is the answer. I respectfully disagree with both ideas that will not work in Somalia. What I would remind you both is that A.S. is an religious idealogical driven Arab Wahabi machine, and gets its support from Arab A.Q. by way of the more people they kill, the more funding they get and not largely or truly supported in principal by 75% (liberal estimate) of its Cadre. Lower to mid level players simply fight for them as they see no other solutions or viable options, disillusioned western or European youths with visions of grandeur, have past visions of IUC peace or simply fight for them because they pay more than the TFG. Take your pick, there are more to choose from. This 75%, or more, of A.S. is considered vulnerable and very open to suggestion, well documented in most professional analytical circles and the press. No big secret here. This is one reason the press is always saying the TFG should engage these elements and try to get them on their side, and not enough efforts by them toward this end. The TFG was formed with this hope in mind. As far as Afweyes and Hizbul Islam is concerned, just another WarLord Militia hiding behind religion that should be disbanded, eliminated from the political circle, then prosecuted, they serve no useful purpose as far as studies have shown, and simply disrupt everything in the mix. Amnesty in some forms will need to be placed, and can be given to lower and middle cadre not convicted of war crimes once an established constitution can be enforced by way of some semblance of law enforcement and national security. No more murderous warlords and criminal kidnappers upper echelon allowed to organize these groups. It is to easy and not essentially fulfilling enough to only say, Oh well Gee.... lets implement Sharia Law. With all due respect...Peace Out!
  5. Thanks Cowke..... and why did they do that (?) any foresight there? Seems like a large group to just get together one day and say we don`t like the pay here in Somaliland anymore? and leave to Puntland? Political or Clan related move?

  7. Well, thats a major event. You wouldn't happen to have this in English, would you?

  9. River water rights have always been Governed exactly like they should... whomever`s state the river runs through, above and beyond that state, clearly the river belongs to them. If you are left with a trickle, consider yourselves lucky. End of story...clear through history. Does it make it right ? Maybe, maybe not but precedents tell the tale, and are what legal judgments are referenced to.

Why shouldn't every faarax put on a suit and make pictures of his office with some white people and than call himself ''president of Somalia''? The socalled paper-presidents of post-91 are no better than President Darman. Its all on paper! So Meiji, ..... where do you draw the line? Start new or backup history?
  11. C`mon guys. Nobody here is seriously entertaining the thought that this is serious are they? You guys are more intelligent than that. 100 German Mercs (or even more) in Somalia? Even if this story is real, they Germans will be waxed before they open up their first can of Sauerkraut. Darmaan is a pipe dream.... wait, wait, I know. The pirates via the American CIA supported Puntland Intelligence Service stooges who back the pirates planned this long ago, to replace the U.N. backed govt of the TFG....right? LoL... Or...wait. Why would Darmaan hire Germans Mercs? Very curious & sinister indeed, you must look behind the politics of this and follow the money, to get your answer. Nothing more entertaining than Arm Chair Generals with no political and worldly experience than you find in this place, to have all the makings of a fine Sunday afternoon ! Pass me some Khat Seedi...
  12. "Darman said the Germans would be crucial for his plans to take over the country, NDR reported". It is illegal in most civilized societies to mis-represent yourself as a police officer, military or government employee. Is it not illegal to mis-represent yourself as a President, and what "governments" are you guys talking about supporting him with so many funds? I also find the lack of any official statements coming out of Germany rather disturbing and alarming. Silence by way of no government statements usually sends false signals of acceptance. Simon Mann of former infamous Executive Outcomes of South Africa mis-read such signals and he and his group wound up in a Equatorial Guinea prison at Black Beach. It is also important to differentiate between the word Mercenary(ies) with a PMC or Security Contracted Company. Mercenaries, in the true sense of the word, hold no political allegiance towards a government or population and are strictly fighting for money for either side of a conflict, whereas PMC/PSC`s typically are regulated by their host country to conduct defense only security operations worldwide, and are specifically licensed to do so. There are MANY Somali and Intl Mercenaries in Somalia fighting for different sides of the equation, strictly because one side pays more than the other, or another side "isn't" paying at all, if ever. Being that Mr Damaan is not a recognized government in any sense of the word by any independent govt or world body, and this so called PSC "private security company" is going to be using offensive operations, not defensive, and for money only, with no government backing or affiliation, one could conclude it a true Mercenary Operation ie coup d'état and therefore should be de-cried by the Intl Community. The problem with all this is that Coup`s of this sort are usually conducted in secret for many reasons, and not through silly press releases therefore De-legitimizing the whole of the affair. It is like they believe that by releasing the information prior to the operation, that it is supposed to make it okay, therefore the conspiracy may continue? And what of the AMISOM factor? I would like to see the expression on their faces as white foreign faces egress an International flight with German Heckler & Koch MP-5s at Mogadishu Airport and say "Wunderbar, where ees da new War"? Or will they make a super-secret insertion and parachute into KM50 Airport? Sorry, I think I have to call a Bull-Sheet factor on this one! You heard it here first at Somalia Online! Free in depth analysis conducted by Amistad & Co. for our Somali friends!
  13. It would seem he would have to go through AMISOM Troops and armor first. This seems very wrong on many levels.
  14. General Duke, isn't he the current Minister of Interior, Puntland?
  15. One had only to witness all the MPs at the Kempinski Hotel in Djibouti during the Djib Peace Process to witness the severe waste, fraud and abuse of funds and their overstayed visit to imagine what was coming. It was unbelievable. $300 dollar a day rooms and $200 dollar a day rental SUVs for everyone ! I see the TFG hiring of Price Waterhouse Cooper as a good move on the TFG to have financial accountability and responsibility, one should only have to open the books to see where the money actually went or didnt go.
  16. The US has Marque of Reprisal laws still on the books. However it takes an act of congress to get them re-instated, all of which attempts so far by people like Ron Paul from Tejas, have been unsuccessful. A little too archaic for most peoples taste...walking the plank and all that.
  17. Last time I was in Somaliland, I had to rent a car to carry all my Schillings around. Cant they knock off a few of those (0`s) zeros off the end of the exchange rate? Street money changers wouldn't any longer need donkeys or wheel-barrows to pack their money around. By comparison the Iraqis non-traded Dinars will need to do the same.
  18. He should be tried and judged by a jury of his peers, in Somalia, if he is not to young. I dont know if they put children on trail in Somalia, but jurisprudence dictates that he is a Somali problem, then the people of Somalia should be allowed to deal with him.

  20. InshAllah. It is just so tragic to the people though, it really is beyond words sometimes. I think the people of Somalia have every right to be a little angered with Sharif. I can count on one hand what he has done, but would need a crowd of peoples hands to count what he hasn't done. One of the worst things he hasn't done is the area of basic govt survival, and thats security. He should have secured the $10M worth of weapons the U.S. gave him, and he should make sure his soldiers always receive their proper pay, and on time. Should not be that difficult, and I cant imagine why this hasn't happened. Even if he survives the fallout of this politically, he may not survive it physically due to bad security practices.
  21. The Dhali Lama needs a country, has the qualifications and isn't employed right now.
  22. He should get a good attorney, who forces the court to recognize they cant even try him in the U.S. Case dismissed.
  23. Originally posted by Sherban Shabeel: It's not that far fetched now, is it? Loyalties seem to change like the colours of a chameleon, something that one can even witness on this forum, so how can this fire be extinguished in a civilized manner? I'm a non-violent person who would like to see reconciliation between all Somalis. But I think the only way is to force this reconciliation, through whatever means necessary. Otherwise, South Somalia is just going to split into little city-states, followed by the Northern enclaves shortly after. We could come up with some different state names right now. How about Kenmolia, Ethimolia, Shababmolia, Ogmolia etc etc etc....
  24. Didnt the TFG hire a PR Firm at one time? Man, Shariff could sure use one now.
  25. Che is right. Someone will sell it too cheap, and not realize its full potential. When is Puntland going to start drilling?
