    Ask a Sujui

Rende, your tone towards the Somalis is a bit harsh(set aside your emotions).Usiache mbachao(somalinimo) kwa msala upitao(swahili.

    Ask a Sujui

80% ya masijui have superiority complex and think that wao ni better kuliko walendo. I agree with the above quote.Whenever i am with my Sijui freinds at a somali restaurant, they prefer to speak swahili just to prove to the masses that they are different.I remind them that no one cares about their lame Swahili language.I usually call those kind of people "ISTUSTUS".We have to be carefull when we are labelling people "liars" since the statistics doesn't reflect the majoriy.
  8. Ngonge, your views, stances, and personality are all easily seen in your thought out posts.Thank you for taking the time and effort in translating(though it was difficult in translating it in to foreign language)this poems. * I am not good at reading Somali and Arabic but hopefully will pick up someday!.

    Deficiency!

Ngonge, Atlanta Journal Constitution should assign you the responsibility of analyzing the FGM(joking). They had a whole section today adressing the Somali immigrant and FGM practices. The paper stated that 98% of Somalis practice FGM.My roomate reacted with disgust that this practice exist in my community.I had to wear the "i am not aware" face, which i am good at it.
  12. The case of burning plastic bags requires some questions adressed before it is implemented:is it cost effective? Does it actually preserve resources and benefit the enviroment?.The GDP of Somaliland is not that big compared to the rest of the developed world. This entails that there would be no prevailing "getting and spending" attitude. The cost of switching to enviromentally freindly baskets will not darken the economic prosperity of Somaliland.Yes, the plastic bags do contribute to enviromental problems as stated in the report. The somaliland issue will be different from programs like the one in Germany ( "green Dot" )because their is no packaging industries that can be held responsible for collecting and recycling the packaging waste they generate.Faced with this imperative it is a good action for enacting the ban.Buying the best enviromentally freindly baskets, rather than recycling, is the best way to reduce the enviromental impact.Recycling will require the citizens of Somaliland to take daily simple actions in their daily lives to reduce the enviromental impact of the product they consume (something people don't do often in Africa). If Somaliland had opted to dump the plastics bags in dumping sites, this will have generated a harmfull gaseous emisions, including volatile organic chemicals. We must all realise that saving the enviroment is not that different from saving money. Ngonge: you shouldn't worry about the Somaliland "haters" because different things matter to different people.
  13. Ngonge, can you traslate it please or post an English link.
  14. I find this dog stuff amusing,May be Ngonge is giving as a good laugh(i might be wrong).I will pay more attention next time i found out a dog sniffing the *** of another dog.I never thought Dogs can be gay untill Ngonge pointed out.May be your dog was showing off some territorial dominanace.
  15. We the muslims receive our religion from Allah and obey it.We can not impose anything on anyone but we can avoid to associate with any homosexuals because Islam clearly and explicitly condemns homosexuality practices.
  16. Throw them bows to the crunk style!, "put Yo Hood up" SOL nomads!.
  17. Memo on reducing female power?..here i thought anything that touches the concept of what it is to be a man or a woman is a highly emotive subject, well i guess then the role reversal has no stake on women. How do you think a guy who was raised by his mom(who cooked always) will feel when he is required to do the household cores?.Doesn't it threaten his masculinity since it binds him.I know it is a highly sensitive subject but don't you think ppl will always be affected by the way they were brought up?.You might be dealing with a guy who has passed the stage of being transfomed(open your eyes), what are you going to do?. Women are in to appearance of who, what, and how they or the significant other should looks.Short guys unless they are rich and powerful it is hard for them to gain the "acceptable standard look" from women. All this is just crab at the end of the day Men will want a healthy young women while women will prefer men with good security.
  18. Don't know anything about Buranbur, but i bet you will like the Sijui ciyar Somali (Hellatha). If you need some help on that Holla at your boy!.
  19. i just read the UNEP report of Somalia,it is heart breaking. The main chemical waste that they suspect are uranium radioactive waste, lead, cadmium, and mercury.I will try to explain the toxicity of this metals. 1. LEAD-The toxicity effect of this metal is that it has a neurologic, neurobehavioral and development effect in children. It impairs the timed programing of cell to cell connection during development. It also impairs the normal calcium hemostasis and uptake by calcium membrane. 2.CADMIUM-The principle long time effect of this metal is chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases also cardivascular diseases. It also affects calcium metabolism which may lead to bone pain. 3. MERCURY- The only liquid state metal.Mercury may lead to bronchitis, and interstitial pneumonits. It may also affects the central nervous system. 4. URANIUM- In the kidney, the proximal tubule are considered to be the main site for uranium.According to WHO uranium has been atributed to lung cancer. Hope that wakes you up?
  20. Baashi, As an enviromental science student i will be part of this fact finding mission. We need a concrete evidence that associates this waste disposal to this named companies. This is what we need to justify our releases( release is defined as "any intentional or unintentional act or ommision resulting in the spilling, leaking, pumping, pouring, emitting, emptying, discarding, injecting, escaping, leaching, dumping of any regulated substance in the enviroment. 1. evidence of release to the groundwater which causes the ground water concentration of a regulated substance to exceed "naturally occuring background concentration. 2.Evidence of release to soil or the ocean 3. unpermited(by legitimate gov't) discarding of a regulated substance in barrels, drums, and tanks. 4. if their is any health effects associated with this waste(studies should be done) Once we get all this evidences(which are cause of action) we are going to decide to file a lawsuit that shows breach of duty by this companies under the federal solid waste disposal act.
  21. Akhi, any publicity will do for me to gain enviromental equity for somalia.
  22. Baashi, their is a rumuor out their that the current president of Harvad When he was at the world bank he advised them to dump nuclear waste in Africa.
  23. Hazardous waste as we all know is any discarded material that may pose a substantial threat or potential danger to human health.Waste such as arsenic and heavy metals are very toxic and capable of causing acute health problems.Historically the west have been disposing their waste on a landfil that caused mainly leaching. This was not liked by the people so the hazardous disposal went through many changes so that not to alarm the public about the danger.Their is no one particular way in the world that is convincing to be a a proper way of disposing hazaedous material.since many countries are loking for easy way to dispose their waste they have to look for easy target like Somalia (wixi xunba xawaleh). The major issues the new government should target should be to came up with a proper way of tackling poverty first then loss of the biodiversity. I have an advice for the new government (if they care to read this) they should capitalize their liability at their disposal. The liability is the municipal waste that can generate electricity through the emision of methane gas.Few of African countries have used the method of generating electricity by building land fills . This waste inturn emits gases that can run electricity for big cities like Mogadishu and Hargeysa. The catch is though that they must produce one million tons of waste every year to run this big cities. The new government must realise that they can not compete with big super powers like US for oil from the Arab world. This process will involve alot of political and financial aspects but hey it will generate electricity for free.
  24. this is the ones that i thought were funny 1. owlugeye (hiker) 2. gacmaweyne (big hands) 3. indayere (small eyes) I forget most of the names.
  25. Pacifist,no my name has nothing to do with the philosophy of stoicism.I slept through the philosophy class when the profesor was lecturing about their contribution to moral philosophy and their theories of the mind as the classical world.Whenever something bad happens to me i usually let it not occupy my heart or mind that is why i choosed the name. Hey you know Bill Meher is funny though especially his satirical comments about politics and society.I don't agree with his religious comment but heck it is commedy!.
