Today is January 1st, the universal birthday for Somalis everywhere, so I wish you all a happy birthday!! And more specifically, to the Somali women, happy 27th birthday, because that seems to be the age when time stops for them, seeing as I rarely meet any Somali woman above that age, for some strange reason.

I'm sure most of us didn't leave our parents' house by the age of 25, let alone 18. North is right, if the guy's working, I don't see a problem with someone living with his parents. After all, it's good to save money and make a slow transition into the working world, rather than jumping in head first. It took me until I was 24 and a husband and a father before I finally got out of mom and dad's house for good.

On 2 of those goals, he shot the puck in midair, that's pretty amazing stuff :eek: He's the first one in 11 years to score 5 goals in a game, Mario Lemieux was the last to do it in regulation back in 1996, while Fedorov did it in an OT game the same year. And yes, I'm fully aware that Minnesota is doing better than Calgary(so far...)

Northerner, I believe jurors are only paid $5 a day for their services. There is a provision in the union contract for my employer though, that they will pay the difference should any of their employees become selected for jury duty. So I would get paid a full paycheck regardless. Hmmmmmm, maybe I should go look for a jury to serve on. Beats working.....

While I like the idea and I will join soon insha Allah, I would personally rather see Somalis getting paid to build these villages rather then foreign volunteers. It gives Somali people an option of having a job that doesn't require holding a weapon for once.
