Where is Shiek Al Amoudi?

Recommended Posts

Its looking more like Saudi Ethiopia case than a strictly Saudi case.

Its not known what Saudi Arabia wants from Ethiopia other than securing Saudi Star the food production agri-business. Maybe the overthrown Royals do not want to transfer Saudi Star to the new group. Or could be favour to Egypt and in Ethiopia Oromo.

New York Times article sheds some light:

did Ethiopia make any inquiries? He is dual citizen?

I think the case is so deep behind the scenes no pblic statements, but few trips between Saudi and Ethiopia happened couple of weeks into the arrest.

Even though most of his money is from Sweden, Libya and Ethiopia, the guy is involved in few major things:

In Ethiopia has enemies in Oromo/Amhara same as regime. Some third world typical idiot Ethiopian opposition diaspora actually celebrated. They are convinced that his mother is Tigray. Amazing.

Clinton foundation had made about 10 million from him - was on behalf of Ethiopia mostly

Saudi Star for food security could have been strictly with the deposed prince that making him part of the Royals scuffle

Egypt could have asked the Saudis to hold him, since pressuring the Ethiopian government

It may even have something to do with Ghelleh and UAE

many things.

Ethiopia needs to make an effort to find its son. The Tigray power men either don't care about the guy or are afraid of the Saudis.

No Tigray could release Amoudi. Bigger fish than him are arrested. Those who paid had been released. Mr. Amoudi hs to pay the billions he earned through corruption, no exceptions.

Mohamed Bin Salmaan so far got $106 billion from these oligarchs. This man must sell some of his assets and pay billions, or he will be in Ritz hotel for a while. OO, might say that is about  politics, but the issue is about money. These men milked the system for 20 years paying no taxes. It is time to cough the money.

galbeedi,

Al Amoudi is not from the royal family. Born and grew up in Ethiopia. Made start in construction when Saudi were making transition from hamlets and tents to villas and palaces then went to oil business outside Saudi Arabia. Biggest foreign investor in Sweden. He also had in Libya. In Ethiopia has gold mine and one of the largest cement plants, the rest is factories through out the country.

You truly and sincerely buy the corruption staff?

The Saudis are one level up from Ethiopia, 10000 times wealthier and this is deep internal matter. Not easy. The old generation royals would have made gesture to Ethiopia, but not the young ones.

OO, all these rich billionaires make their money like by winning big contracts, not because they offer the best or cheapest but by  connections,  or know the King. it is massive inside trading and when they calculated by  last year, it was mind-boggling, over $500 billion lost in KSA thru craft  in last 10 years alone. This guy of course like others got some of that money.

That is why Public support MBS, and can tolarate him as long as he takes care of other snakes.

Will he succeed? I doubt, he created far too many enemies, someone in the family will stab him.

That is very true as the way how they made their money, but this is more political than cleaning house. One does not buy a villa in France a yatch in the sea in the middle of doing this.

The Royal family has grown too big with some having 40-50s in one generation and has become too expensive, thus he wants to reduce to bare essentials.

I am too small to know what Al Amoudis place was as second wealthiest in Saudi Arabia.

It is official. The era of despot Cabdi Illey is over in the Somali region.
After closed door deliberations, the DDSI party had elected Mr. Ahmed Shide as the new leader which officially ends the 11 year painful rule of Illey.
This selection will pave Mr. Shide as the new president of the region very soon. Also, the Liyu police has been disbanded as the security force of the Somali region. For the last few days the Liyu have been looting and pillaging communities while abandoning their positions.
Also, members of Illey family are been investigated by the authorities for the theft of millions of dollars.
It is an end of a painful chapters for a lot of Somalia. A very small group of blood thirsty group,  created and organised by the Tplf and Cabdi Illey have been overthrow thanks to the Oromo uprising. While many Somali including my self were looking to preserve the old order for the sake order and continuity, millions of Somalia want the total demise and the removal of the tyrants who oppressed them for so long. Just like the Oromo celebrated the demise of the Tplf order, for the millions of Somalis the end of Illey and his henchmen is a great relief and a new era of freedom.

There were some security concern about the disbanding of the Liyu police and the threat of anarchy and outlaws in the countryside, yet for most people, their disbanding was a relief. Analysts believe that the Liyu is too criminal or murderous to be a force that might fight for independence or even tribal reasons. They were trained to kill and abuse Somali and will not be needed in a land where people are seeking justice and freedom.
It is mind boggling how a small ruthless group had managed to oppress and control millions of Somalia for so long. They acted like there is no one else but themselves.
Now, Illey and his supporters must accept the new order and collaborae for the peace and development of all Somali. He and Tplf wanted to finish off the Somali and createa long  civil war between the Somali and Oromo. There were a lot of victims, but we hope the worst to be over. He gambled to the lives of thousands of Somali to save the Tplf order. After he lost the gamble, he continued to the destructive route until it is too late.

      Very sad news.

Nothing is known yet from the police, but the media is reporting that he died from gun shot and the hand gun colt has been found in the car.

      galbeedi,
Why didn't you bring the most important news for you, the oil well to be drilled announced by Abiy?
Why this go around to bring civil war among Somalis? What do you gain?
Why is the area where the pipeline to pass more useful to you than the area where the prospective well is?

Why cover with Iley why not say the main motivation for you the trade route?
