Djibouti President congratulates the new President of Somaliland

Djibouti President HE Ismail Omar Guelleh Congratulated the new elect -President of Somaliland, Mr. Mousi Behi Abdi, following his victory in the presidential elections held on 13 November, and expressed his sincere congratulations and wished him success in establishing security and stability in Somaliland and in achieving the development aspirations of his people. He praised the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.

At the same time, he stressed that the transparency and calm that characterized these elections reflected the established democracy in Somaliland, which would contribute to improving the image of the Horn of Africa region, which is often chaotic and politically violent.

The candidate of the ruling party, Musa Bihi, received 55.9% of the votes. Meanwhile, his candidate, theWaddani candidate, received 40.73% of the total votes. The candidate of the Justice and Welfare Party won 4.17%.

The presidential elections in Somaliland, which took place on the thirteenth of this month, witnessed a heavy presence of international observers.
