New Somali cabinet sworn in

Members of the new Somali cabinet have taken the oath of office today during a colourful occasion held at the Somali Parliamemt in the presence of Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, the speaker Mohamed Osman Jawari and the Prime minister Abdiweli Sheik Ahmed.

The cabinet members were sworn in by the chairman of the country’s Supreme Court Aideed Abdullahi Ilkahanaf. “I swear in the name of Allah, that I will serve for the people and the country and will respect the laws and principles of the country” every member of the cabinet said holding his/her hand on the Holly Quran.

 

Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed who first addressed at the swearing in ceremony thanked the Somali parliament for first accepting him and then endorsing his new cabinet.

 

“As a government we will develop major co-operations with the federal parliament” said the prime minister who delivered a short speech at Wednesday’s swearing in ceremony of the new government.

 

For his part, the speaker of the parliament Mohamed Sheik Osman Jawari said that Somali parliament accomplished too many tasks during the 3rd session whose 59th meeting ended today, adding that the conclusion ceremony of the session will be held tonight at the recently-rebuilt Vila Hargeisa.

“During the 3rd session of the parliament, we lost 8 beloved parliamentarians, whilst 9 others resigned from the parliament memberships and we had replaced them in accordance with the federal constitution of Somalia” the speaker told the swearing in ceremony on Wednesday.

 

Finally, the Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud praised the parliament for accomplishing the huge national tasks carried out in the country so far of which the latest was the approval of the new cabinet on Tuesday.

 

“The Somali parliament has really come of age and without such hardworking, we couldn’t have achieved such tangible results” said the president adding that the Somali parliament was the cornerstone of the existence of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

hahahaha.... A new cabinet sworn in...same sh&t different day. No progress on fighting alshabab, still dependent on Amisom, No actual strategy to do anything. Amisom mass rape in Mugdisho. The Government can not control a single street in Mugdisho without the support of Amisom. It seems they trade women for secuirity (hahaha).

 

They sit around the same table with the same plastic flowers and same bottled water and put on a good show for the world while they secretly stash as much money they can into Swiss bank accounts.

 

Free and fair election one man one vote by 2016 no chance in hell.... Trusteeship territory of italian somaliana.
