Mad_Mullah Posted August 31, 2013 Bashar al-Assad was never Israel's enemy like Saddam was. Saddam proved it by shooting rockets at Israel. Bashar couldn't even retake the Golan Heights. He knew if he tried, the whole of syria would become part of israeli occupied territory now. iraq doesn't border israel, so saddam could be a bit reckless. no arab or muslim state can face israel militarily on equal terms.
